Chapter 1: Become a Great Chief

"Oh no, Grandpa is vomiting blood again!"

"Find Uncle Li Hu quickly!"

What can we do? The sacred fire is gone, and now Grandpa is going to be gone too... "

The voices were loud.

What's going on? A thin and slender teenager lying down slowly opened his eyes. Where am I?

The teenager looked around the surroundings, the light was dim, and it was all dark stone, with a light not far away.

"Cave?" The teenager sat up and immediately covered his back, "It hurts!"

"How did I fall here?" The teenager propped himself up on his hands and tried to get out of bed, but suddenly looked down and saw that the bed was covered with grass, and next to it was a colorful animal skin.

"Animal skin?" The young man was surprised and searched his memory carefully. "Are there such wild animal skins in Tibetan areas? Do they live in caves?"

Before he could react, two people dressed in fur entered the cave and saw the awakened boy.

The two of them were obviously shocked, and then looked surprised.

"Great, Mu Feng is awake!"

"Come with us to see Grandpa!"

The boy was dragged and carried out of the cave before he could see the faces of the two people.

"Show me who?" the young man wondered.

After leaving the cave, the light outside the cave made the young man's eyes stop for a moment. What caught his eye was a group of people with a flustered look, who were running in one direction.

These people all had fluffy hair, dressed in various animal skins, and their faces were dirty, making it difficult to see their exact appearance.

The teenager was shocked: "What's going on? Why are there still such primitive residents in Tibetan areas?"

Someone saw the teenager being carried by two people and exclaimed, "Look, Mufeng is awake!"

The crowd automatically cleared a path for the two of them to lead the boy through, and they arrived at a thatched hut.

The room was again dimly lit.

But the teenager still saw that several people were standing in the room, surrounding an old man who was sitting on a wooden stool.

The old man's eyes were half-closed, and even in the dim light, he could be seen to be haggard and pale, with dried blood on his gray beard and hair.

At the first sight of the old man, the boy's mind involuntarily came up with information about the old man: Grandpa, unknown surname, tribal chief, the man who picked him up in the wilderness, and treated him very well.

In addition to the information about the old man, various fragments of information also emerged in the teenager's mind like a movie: people on crutches, three-foot earthen platforms, and screaming and shouting around wild animals...

The teenager was surprised and wondered why he had such a memory.

"Grandpa, Mufeng is here!" someone shouted.

The old man opened his eyes and looked at the young man, and said with a breathless voice, "Mu Feng!"

The teenager hesitated, but his body involuntarily rushed to the old man's side and cried sadly, "Grandpa!"

The old man reached out and touched his head weakly, but didn't speak. He looked up slightly at the others around him and asked, "Where's Li Hu?"

Before the words were finished, the light in the thatched hut dimmed, and a man bent down and came in, hurriedly shouting, "Grandpa, I'm here!"

A man like a tower came up to the old man, knelt down on one knee, and reached out to hold the other hand of the old man: "Grandpa, are you all right?"

The old man shook his head slightly and said in a weak voice, "I don't have much time left."

"Grandpa!" The voices of the people around him trembled in unison.

"Grandpa, you can't have any accidents. If something happens to you, what are we going to do?" Li Hu said excitedly.

The old man looked sad, but with a hint of stubbornness, shook his head and said, "I have no choice, but you still have to live!"

Li Hu once again grasped the old man's hand, full of unwillingness, wanting to say something more.

The old man raised his eyes and motioned for the tiger to shut up.

He took a deep breath, obviously intending to explain his last wishes.

After my death, Mu Feng will be the chief, and you should respect him as you do me!

Everyone was shocked, but they nodded with grief and anger, "Yes!"

"The sacred fire has been lost, and the only way to survive is to migrate eastward."

Li Hu muttered, "Migration eastward..."

However, he nodded to the old man emphatically, "Yes!"

The old man then turned his gaze to the shocked teenager in the back of his mind: "Mu Feng!"

The teenager subconsciously replied, "Grandpa!"

But he was shocked to find himself in a black hole in Tibet, where he was a history scholar from Jiangxia University.

But when he woke up, he was in a cave, surrounded by people in primitive clothing.

Obviously, I have crossed over!

From one cave to another, he appeared on a young man named Mufeng!

And the memory of the teenager also flooded into his mind in an instant: the old man in front of him was the chief of the Jiang clan, who was mortally wounded.

The most serious thing is that the "sacred fire" within the tribe was stolen!

Mu Feng thought of how kind the old man had been to him, and how he had treated him like a family member even though they weren't related. Suddenly overcome with grief, he couldn't help but cry, "Grandpa, please don't get into any trouble!"

The old man released his hand from the tiger's and slowly wiped away its tears. "Silly child, you will be the chief of the tribe in the future. Don't cry anymore!"

"Grandpa!" Mu Feng cried sadly.

Others also cried out in pain, "Grandpa!"

The old man gently shook his head and reached out to cover the young man's head: "Let me, an old man, do my last bit of effort for this tribe. From now on, it's up to you!"

Before Mu Feng could react, he felt his scalp tighten and closed his eyes. A mysterious message flooded his mind.

The people around them all gave a loud "ah!" in unison.

One person looked at the tiger and said, "Chief!"

The grief on the tiger's face was even worse, but he firmly shook his head, "This is Grandpa giving a dharma initiation to Mufeng again. We will not break the succession of chieftains!"

But...

Li Hu heaved a deep breath and said in a low voice, "There's no 'but'!"

...

After an unknown period of time, Mu Feng opened his eyes again and noticed that the old man's face was pale, and his chest, which had originally been puffed out, was now gradually losing its heft.

The oil is running out and the lamp is burning out - it seems that there is not much time left.

The people around them looked sad, but their eyes were full of hope, and they all looked at Mu Feng.

Li Hu took the lead and knelt down on one knee, raising his hand to Wu Feng and saying, "Chief!"

The rest of the men followed suit, kneeling down one knee and bowing like a tiger: "Chief!"

Mu Feng was still shocked. He had just figured out what was going on, and now he was the chief of this primitive tribe, with such a mess to deal with!
