Chapter 10: Gang

When Ben finally had enough of playtime with Joker's sanity, he walked away from him while searching for a specific alien.

Looking left and right, he couldn't see anyone beside himself and the crying Joker on the icy floor.

"Even though I didn't want to do such a thing, it looks like I don't have any choice. Besides, all the bad things, it will greatly increase the speed of the Ultimatrix construction."

"Echo Echo!"

As the green light flashed, a small white alien appeared where Ben initially was, cloning himself 10 times, now there were 11 Echo Echos.

"Better be working."

All of them pressed the Omnitrix button on their bodies at the same time as they transformed back into Bad Ben.

They were all wearing the same things magically, but the small surprise on Ben's face didn't last long as all of the clones used the Omnitrix to transform themselves into different aliens: Big Chill, Ghostfreak, XLR8, Jetray were the most used, as they knew they needed to do their jobs as cleanly as possible.

Leaving Ben alone in a second, all of them either ran or flew out of the building, going for their specific missions.

"Good thing that I don't have any powerful alien unlocked. Maybe I'm paranoid, but sometimes your worst enemy is yourself."

Ben didn't like the thought of getting betrayed by his clones, even though he didn't know if they even could do that. But for his mental health, he didn't unlock any powerful DNA like Clockwork or Alien X.

"I should throw the trash out before leaving."

Looking back, he could see the Joker, now unconscious, still switching between laughing and crying.

With a sigh, water vapor escaped Ben's mouth as the low temperature in the building started to catch with his body, and he began to feel his fingers get numb.

In a deep forest, XLR8 accelerated through, needing to find a good place for their new base. While running, he started to hear water dripping and decided to check the location out.

Finding himself in front of a small waterfall in a second, even though it wasn't majestic, it was enough and far away from Metropolis.

Pressing the Omnitrix, he deactivated his transformation. Back in his human form, he took a dip in the water.

Swimming to the bottom, he pressed his Omnitrix again while the green light revealed his alien: Armodrillo!

A big yellow alien appeared, drilling his way down through the ground, making it shake as he got deeper. But beside himself, another alien arrived: a Big Chill that covered the entrance in ice so the water wouldn't go down there.

Switching to Armodrillo too, he began to help the other clone drill a room big enough for their new base.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

No one responded to the knock as Ben thought about what he should do. Maybe she was still in school.

"Hey Zoe, your father told me to take care of you. He wouldn't be coming back for a long time."

After a big pause, the door slightly opened, as a curious eye peeked through the slightly open door.

"My father told me never to talk to strangers."

She said while clenching the door handle, ready to close the door shut. Even though she didn't want to answer when she heard that something could have happened with her father, she couldn't just ignore it.

She was still a small kid, but her curiosity couldn't be killed that easily now that she heard someone talking about her father.

"Interesting. But I'm sorry to tell you, he wouldn't be able to see you anymore."

Tears slowly began to drop as she knew they were living in a shitty neighborhood, but she just couldn't imagine something bad happened to her father.

How she knew about those things? She heard her father arguing with her mother one time exactly about this.

"What about my mom? What did she say?"

She slowly wiped her tears as she barely spoke those words.

"She's gone too."

Shock was on her expression as tears started to stream again from her eyes. Just after a big silence, she uttered some words while crying.

"You're lying!"

But Ben didn't argue with the little crying child on the other side of the door as he grabbed his phone from his pocket. Clicking some buttons, he left the kid in fear while a voice she knew played.

Opening the door, she grabbed the phone while starting to scream at her mother's voice but to no avail as it was just a voice record.

Hugging Ben, she broke down in tears questioning what she should do now. But he didn't bother to answer as he waited first for her to calm down.

After some long minutes, she finally dropped to the ground, but he caught her while walking inside of the apartment.

"Looks like I don't need to kill the gorilla anymore. The games begin. Let's see how long can you survive, Zoe."

With those words, Clone Ben revealed a big smile; that's why he was here, just to play while teaching this kid a thing or two.

After that, he will hint her the last organization her father was in. But of course, she's still too young for revenge.

All she needs to bother with is how to survive in this cruel world all alone.

After finally finding our stolen materials, we head back towards the new base.

When arriving, we were greeted by 9 graymatters Ben's waiting for the goods.

Dropping them, we transformed into graymatter too while staring to study original Ben notes.

They were hard to understand, even for graymatter. It was a lot of time wasting.

This is why Ben didn't make 100 clones as he knew they didn't know anything about the things he noted.

Now the original Ben was the head of the graymatter team that was reading his notes, most with confused faces while others understanding what he wrote.

It wasn't easy, and that's why he made those notes, in case he goes back Ben and forgets them when he transforms back; he has an backup.
