Chapter 2: DO YOU ACCEPT?
"Isolated??!"
Panic started spreading among the students. Some were still thinking that it was all but a joke, but when they saw the view outside, they changed their minds.
"How..What the hell is going on?" Emilia asked , looking at Mitsuki who was beside her.
"Honestly, I thought it might be a joke, but looking outside... It isn't." He replied, trying to compose himself to think of what to do.
The principal cleared his throat as he proceeded.
"We have tried to contact the outside, but we can't. As your principal, I have decided to call all of you here now to ensure that nobody is missing, as we also try to check from the inside what this barrier is.. I do not know if anything we do will be successful, but we shall try all we can."
Suddenly, they heard loud explosions. The hall shook violently, making them to scream. Some were so struck by fear that they had curled themselves like a ball on the floor. The principal along with the teacher went outside cautiously to check out what was happening. All they heard were consecutive explosions and several shouts.
"Fire!! Fire all ammunition simultaneously all around !!!" They heard.
Outside the barrier was Joe and commander Tim, surrounded with several tanks and complex weaponry, all pointed towards the barrier. The military general who was in charge looked at Commander Tim with bewildered look. Even Joe was surprised with the command that Tim gave out.
"S-sir?? Are you telling me to fire all ammunitions at the same time??" The general asked.
"Yes General Matsumoto. THERE ARE STUDENTS IN THERE !!! WE NEED TO BREAK THE BARRIER!!"
"EXACTLY!! THERE ARE STUDENTS IN THERE! WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN-" General Matsumoto composed himself, remembering the position of the man in front of him.
"Well sir there is nothing that is happening yet!!Why are you rushing to make unreasonable requests? You do know what kind of explosive power the ammunition have! We even have complex machinery here that are WMD!!" Matsumoto shouted back amid the explosions. Joe heard beeping from his tablet. Jis visage turned even more pale as he saw what was happening.
"What is it Joe?" Tim asked.
"The energy... It is all accumulating above this area!! All the energy that was around the world is concentrating here!!!"
"What?!"
As if to emphasize what Joe had said, a large spell circle appeared above. It was crimson red and it had several writings. All the golden clouds seemed to be sucked into it as it broke into several layers and started glowing intensely. The tablet started beeping continuously as they all stared up.
"Everyone!!RUN!!!!" Joe shouted as he and Tim took off almost immediately. All the military officers along with the general started to run as wind started swirling violently.
"Is this the end of the world??!!!"
Inside the school, the Principal and the teacher, were trying to calm the students down when they suddenly saw a large red magic crest cover the entire floor. Some started screaming and others tried to get out of the hall. MItsuki held Emilia's hand tightly , trying to calm her down.
"Open the goddamn doors!" One shouted.
"The doors are not opening!!! We can't get out!"
"What the hell is happening!!"
Suddenly, they heard a voice that echoed through their minds.
"Do you hear my voice, Humans?"
They all froze and started looking around, searching for the source of the voice.
"Who are you? What do you want with us? What the hell is happening here?" Shouted the principal as he looked around, looking for the person who was speaking. Suddenly, they all saw a display appear in front of them. It had a lot of information. They panic levels were increasing rapidly amongst them.
"I? I am Aurendor, a god, the god who has created you all along with each and everything you see in this universe."
"What? A god, what the hell.." Mitsuki thought as he looked down at the display in front of him.
[Name: Mitsuki Ichiro]
[Level: 1 ]
[No attributes]
The voice explained what they were seeing on the displays, about magic, about their levels and how they were going to be summoned. The concept of another world quickly made the students to get excited, ignoring the fact that they were all shaking before. Even if they hadn't thought of it well, the idea of being summoned roused their minds, to the point that they all started talking about their levels.
"Im level 20!"
"Aww.. lucky you, I'm level 7"
"Wait a second!! This is so sudden! I cannot just go along with this!" shouted the principal as he banged his fist on the wall. The wall suddenly caved in as his fist pounded it.
"What the.."
"Woah!! Look! The principal's level is 100!!"
"You might want to be careful with your strength or else you will make the building to collapse. I know that this looks inconsiderate, but you will very soon see that it was necessary."
The principal looked at the wall , amazed at his newfound strength. A Large display appeared all above them, showing everyone's levels.
"Woah! Mark is level 50!!"
Mark looked up at the display, now feeling high and mighty as he felt the adoration from the other twenty six students. The level gap between him and the rest was large. He looked through the list until he reached the last name. Upon seeing it, he smirked.
"Would you look at that! Level 1? That's hilarious dude!!! It basically means that you are no different now!!" He said as he pointed at Mitsuki. All the others started laughing at him.
"My god, damn! How can he be weak even after this?"
Mitsuki looked down and he gritted his teeth, feeling angry at himself. Mark started walking towards him when suddenly, Emilia stopd in front of him.
"Have you no shame, Mark?" She asked
"Come on Emilia, you are the second most powerful and you are still defending him?? He is thirty nine levels below you! Move it before I make you to." Mark said. This statement made Emilia angry. She was about to do something but Mitsuki placed his hand on her shoulder.
"It's alright, Emilia.. Just leave him," he said.
"It seems like everything is now ready. The summoning shall now commence!"
Red mist started to gather around them as a red portal started to swallow them. Emilia looked at Mitsuki and she smiled.
"Don't worry Mitsuki, you protected me a long time ago, I shall do the same from now on." She said.
Mitsuki's heart felt warm as he looked at Emilia. He smiled back at her as streams of tears went down his visage.
"Then I shall take you up on that, Emilia."
Then, everything happened fast. He suddenly felt pain and the next thing, he was airborne. The only thing he saw was Emilia's expression changing and Mark's smirk as he whispered ,
"Loser."
He landed on the floor of the hall with a thud. He was bleeding, but he could not feel it. The only thing he felt was anger, deep anger that was overwhelming him. He grit hid teeth as he pounded his fist on the floor.
"DAMN HIM!! THAT MARK BASTARD!!!!"
He screamed in pain as he looked at his open wound right at the liver. His body was weakening at a fast rate, but all he kept doing was cursing Mark at the top of his voice. He saw everything well, Mark had whispered something when he looked at him as Emilia was speaking to him. After that, he got suddenly hit by a shockwave. Images of Mark smirking flashed through his mind. He now felt hopeless, angry and sad.
"Oh right... Miyuki is in the first year's trip.. I need.. to get.. home....."
He couldn't move at all, the blood loss was too much, his consciousness was fading away.
"Damn.....it..."
"I see, they decided to get rid of you, didn't they.." Mitsuki heard.
He suddenly felt his pain fading away as his wounds were healing or rather, were being healed by a man he had never seen before. The man in front of him looked mighty, a long Viking beard, good muscular build and a golden robe. His irises were golden in color and he had a calming presence.
"They?" He wondered.
"Everyone aside from Emilia and Virginia wanted to get rid of you, Mitsuki Ichiro. You are weak after all, you would just be a burden to them." The man said.
"That voice.. You are Aurendor..." Mitsuki looked at the man in front of him as he stood up. he then bowed suddenly in front of him.
"Aurendor, you have said so yourself, I am weak, I cannot participate in the war against the doom that you talked of.. I just want to go back home to my sister, I just realized that I almost left her alone... So, please..."
"I am going to stop you right there, boy. I shall first ask you a simple question: Do you think life if fair?"
Mitsuki looked down as he contemplated the question.
"No, no it isn't. I mean, look at me, look at others who have way more problems than I do, then look at the likes of Mark, born in a rich family, having good looks, good grades, good luck, a good future, basically some are set to excel in life. My sister and I have no parents, our dad was killed, our mum left us, just when I was ten.. Why the hell am even telling you this while you know all of it...."
"So, your answer is no...fairness depends on how you are defining it boy. Have you ever thought to ask yourself about what fairness truly is? Do you think its real meaning is the same as what you envision?"
The man asked as golden lines spread out from his body towards Mitsuki. Mitsuki thought about the question that the man asked.
"I do not really believe in Fairness. It is just one's selfish desire ." He said.
Aurendor smiled as a portal opened next to Mitsuki. A girl suddenly appeared from the portal.
"What the-"
"Miyuki? What the hell?"
"Brother? What just happened??! I was in the aquarium and..and.."
Suddenly, blue magic crests appeared on their bodies and they both started feeling a surge of power in them.
"I like you boy, you have what I want to see in my chosen one. I shall offer you a new life, a life that will have a lot of obstacles and difficulties, a life where you will both have something, some power. You shall bear the task of protecting creation and all that exists. Do you accept, Mitsuki Ichiro?"
Several memories flashed through Mitsuki's mind, their home, their school life, Emilia.. He looked at his sister next to him who was just bewildered at what was going on and smiled.
"I have no attachment here aside from her. I shall accept the task, I shall do my very best as I also try to find out whether there is anything such as the concept of fairness. I Mitsuki Ichiro, accept."
"Very well"
a display appeared in front of him.
[The Supreme One of the universe, Aurendor, has chosen you]

A gold light shone brightly and when it faded, there was nobody in the hall.
"You shall be the very first being in the universe to be chosen by an entity of my rank, Do your very best and live up to your words, Mitsuki Ichiro."

Mitsuki blinked several times as he looked around. Miyuki stared at the almost endless golden sky.
"Welcome to my realm, Avalon." They heard.
Suddenly, twelve figures appeared in front of them, seated on thrones, with the middle one being the largest, where Aurendor sat.
[You are in the prescence of the Celestior, the most powerful beings in the universe]
