Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Star City III
Some minutes passed and the old lady along with two other young boys that looked like twins because of how they look, came in with what they ordered for.
"Thank you ma'am." Ace said to the lady.
She responded with a smile before walking away to go do other things.
Zeke still occasionally stared at the person sitting at the next table ' Not that I feel anything strange energy from him, it's just that cloak he's wearing makes me uneasy.'
Mikayla noticed Zeke's occasionally glance at the person and tried warning him.
"Visitors who prefer to be anonymous usually come like that, it be best if you just let it be." She said.
"Oh, thanks for the heads up." Zeke said still feeling uneasy.
"Don't sweat it." She said and continued eating.
Then she turned towards Ace who didn't really say much to her, as a matter of fact none of them except Lloyd really said much to her.
"I've been wondering, were guys friends before the apocalypse or after the apocalypse?" She asked looking at Ace.
Ace heard the question but continued eating, seeing as no one answered he did.
"We've been friends long before the apocalypse." Ace answered.
"Oh, that's nice to hear." She said happily. "Before this what did you guys do."
Felling like the question was directed to Ace, none of them chose to answer. Ace on the other hand decided not to answer immediately and continued eating.
"Oh, sorry for asking too much. I'll mind my business now." She said feeling a bit sad.
"No, it's okay I was just thinking of how to put it." Ace said.
"That's simple. We were delinquents." Chris chipped in.
Mikayla was taken aback by the sudden revelation from Chris. "Wow, that was oddly honest." Mikayla said.
"You asked right?" Chris asked.
"Well yeah, I guess I did." She replied feeling awkward.
After that the air was filled and awkward silence.
"So what about you, what did you do before this whole stuff?" Chris asked.
"Well, you see I just graduated from college, and was in search of a job. Also I lived with my parents and my little brother, but since I got here I haven't seen them which scares me." She said in a low sad tone.
"Maybe there somewhere safe, or maybe trying to find you." Lloyd said with a reassuring smiling.
While they were discussing a group of five men and the one was in the middle who wasn't that muscular and was bald with his face filled with unkept beards came and placed his arm around Mikayla's shoulder.
"Hey, beautiful." The man said smiling close to her face.
She could feel his breathe on her cheeks and his mouth reeked of alcohol.
"Excuse me, but could you please take your hands off me sir." She said in a shakey voice.
"Don't be like that, we just want you to have some fun with us. I promise to be gentle." When saying the last sentence, he leaned close to her ear.
"Sorry, but no thanks." She said trying to move his hand from her shoulders.
The man had a look of distain on his face and tried to forcefully pull her with him. While doing this he felt a hand holding his.
"She just said she was okay, so why don't you buzz off." Lloyd scorned.
"Who the hell is this little brat. Don't tell me he's your boyfriend." The man said grinning at Mikayla.
The four men with him laughed at the comment "Super boyfriend to the rescue." One of them said while laughing.
"I won't say it again, take your hands off her." Lloyd said in a domineering voice.
Now all eyes in the bar was on Lloyd and the man. And the tension in the air was starting to rise. The old lady received word that a possible fight was about to break out and she wasn't willing to let that happen in her bar.
"Boys, if you wanna fight take it out side." The old lady who noticed the scuffle said.
Whispers could be hear all over the place. Zeke, Ace and Chris ignored everything that was going on and continued eating.
"Outside, right now." The man said to Lloyd and started walking towards the exit.
Lloyd stood up and started making it's way towards the exit, when he was a going Mikayla drew him back.
"You don't have to do this for me." Mikayla said at the verge of crying.
Lloyd didn't say anything as he just reached for Nox, and placed him on the table "Watch over him, this won't take long." He said before walking away.
When Lloyd left the cloaked figure stood up and and made his way towards the exit. Zeke noticed this and followed while Chris, Ace and Mikayla followed from behind with Chris holding Nox.
Outside the bar, a small crowd was already formed eager to see the pending battle. A group of five men, stood at one end of the road, while Lloyd stood at the opposite direction.
The five men wore pieces of scattered equipment and each of them had a sword.
"Brat, if you kneel before me and apologize I might consider letting this slide." The man said.
Lloyd just remaining quiet, and the people close to him couldn't feel an ounce of fear coming from him even though he was clearly out numbered.
"Aren't you guys gonna help him, his out numbered do something." Mikayla said desperately.
"That bastard is getting what he deserves." Zeke said.
Mikayla couldn't believe her ears "I thought you guys were friends." She said nearly in tears.
"What are you saying?" Zeke said slightly rasing his voice.
The whispers from the crowd got louder which made Mikayla turn her attention towards Lloyd.
"This kid watched way too many action movies." One of the men said.
"Thinking he's her knight in shining armor. Pathetic." Another one laughed.
"This ain't no Cinderella boy and you ain't no prince charming. So better get one your fking kneels and beg for mercy while you still can."
"And what if I don't." Lloyd finally spoke.
"Then prepare yourself for what is to come, it's ain't gonna be pretty." Man 2 said.
"I'll give you five seconds to get on your kneels and apologize." The man said.
