Stareing at the laptop Victor immediately felt like it was related. The missing teacher, the message on the laptop, the crazy outburst of the students it's all related, but...how?
Thinking about it, Victor lost contact with his physical world and was emerged in his own world when the sound of doors closing brought him back.
Emily,Irene and some other classmates ran into the lab panting and gasping for air seemed like they were also chased by the crazy students.
"This is the end of the world"
"Oh!!! I never expected the world will end like this"
"Yeah,yeah,yeah, I thought we would all just sleep and not wake up again"
Everyone said their crazy opinion without noticing Victor. His invisibility managed to amuse Victor and he let out a low chuckle which caught their attention.
Seeing Victor, Emily smiled her previous tiredness disappeared but once she saw Irene a kind of discomfort rose within her again.
"Brother!", Irene ran to hug Victor, "I'm so scared,those monsters...they chased me..I thought I would never see you again",she said chocking in between sobs.
Despite knowing that she was faking it, Victor's heart still softened and he patted her back to calm her down.
"Are the two of you really dating?", Becky, one of the classmate asked, voicing out the thought of everyone in the room.
"No..no..we're not, he is just my brother from another mother", Emily said shyly with her face red while Victor just stared emotionlessly at them.
"What are we doing now?", Max asked seriously.
Victor played the video he found on the laptop for them all, after watching some had a confused expression while the others felt like they should report to the school management.
"Do you think the management will do anything? They only care about their pockets", Victor said and sneered.
"What do you suggest we do then", Max asked with the same serious tone.
"We'll have to take it upon ourselves, find out everything about the teacher and hopefully about the experiment he was talking about. I feel it is related to what is happening right now", that was the longest the classmate have heard him speak but some still opposed.
"We are still kids,how can we...", Alex complained was cut off before he could finish.
"If you don't agree we can split up, it isn't a must you are part of this quest", Victor said with a sardonic smile.
"You are crazy, nothing but a weirdo who's quiet all day long pretending to be cool. How can we trust you?", Alex continued blabbing receiving no response he continue, "Let's go report to the management, who's with me?"
"I support him"
"So do I", some of the classmates were swayed and walked cautiously towards Alex.
"Now leave", Victor's cold voice rang after the students have made their choices.
Atlas Alex, Lily, Raymond, Ian and Alicia decided to leave remaining Victor, Emily, Irene, Sandra, Max, Miles, Lisa and Becky. The two teams were decided.
"Wish you success", Alex said with a smile before running out with the laptop.
His teammates were in shock before they also went with him.
Coming out they met a bunch of crazy students running towards them, each ran in different directions and only Alex was caught.
The student grabbed him by the neck, lifting him up while he screamed for help.
Victor came out of the lab and looked at him silently, thinking he has seen his savior Alex let out a sigh of relieve.
Victor walked silently,making no sound at all towards Alex,he smiled at him before bending down to pick up the laptop.
"Don't think this belongs to you",he said quietly before retreating to the lab.
Alex anger boiled as he collected all his energy together to push away the student.
"I'll remember this", Alex said gritting his teeth before seeking refuge.
"Brother!!!", Irene ran to hug him as soon as he got back to the lab, "That was too risky...something could have happened....I thought I had lost you", she said while sobbing.
Victor's cold heart finally warmed and he hugged her back, comforting her.
"Hate to break the moment but what's our next step", Max said with a sneer.
"Firstly, we will have to go to the administration office to search for Mr. Tony's file, see what we can get. The students that changed can't see clearly by my hypothesis so we'll have to be very silent", he replied back to his cold and oppressive self.
"The office is three storey above, can we really make it?", Sandra asked kind of scared.
"I don't need cowards on my team",Victor said disdainfully, shutting Sandra up completely.
"Max and I will go to the office while the rest of you stay and look for information on the laptop", he continued while looking at Alex.
"Okay but we will need something to divert their attention...", Max answered while looking around.
"Found a metal pencil case, we could throw it to the far end of the hallway and the students should follow the sound", Emily suggested while picking up the case.
"Let's try it", Max answered then opened the door.
Few students ran towards them once the door was open which startled Emily, making her let go of the case.
The sound made more students run to the lab. Victor picked the case and threw it as far as he could, it successfully diverted the students which gave them access to the stairs.
"Stupid", he said while looking at Emily with looks which could kill before running to the stairs with Max.
Irene closed the door while Emily was still in a daze from Victor's hostility. Seeing the tears lurking in the coner of her eyes, Irene's smile became wider.
....
Max and Victor climbed the stairs quietly, their presence unknown to the mutants (Will be calling the crazy students mutants from now on) around them.
Two classes to the administration office Max sighted his sister, forgetting they were supposed to be quiet he called out to her.
"Bethany!!", he screamed gaining the attention of all the mutants in the hallway including his sister.
Victor's pupils dilated and he dragged him into the office before he could get to her.
"Are you crazy?!", Max screamed when Victor dragged him into the office.
"She has turned", he said lightly like he was complimenting the weather.
"WTF are you talking about. I'd leave your team if that's it, why will you stop me from seeing my sister? You..", before he could complete his sentence Victor slapped him hard on the face.
"She has turned,it's not your sister out their it's a monster. If you go now you are just seeking death", he said emotionlessly.
Max sneered and turned to leave, as he opened the door a punch landed on his face looking up he met the face of his beloved sister.
Frozen from shock, he stared at her while his eyes turned red. Victor pulled him back to the office, not because he cared but because he didn't want to lose a smart person from his team to reduce his work load.
"You should focus on how to find a cure for her instead of wallowing in despair", Victor commented coldly while searching the files on the table.
After ten minutes, Mr. Tony's file was finally found and to their surprise it was partially empty. The file contained the teacher's phone number which has long been unreachable, his birth certificate and other work related documents but no house address or relative information.
Seeing this Victor cursed out loud, blue veins popping out of his head. The sudden outburst brought Max out of his trance and he gave him a confused stare.
"Found nothing,let's head back", he sighed and headed to the door.
The number of mutants by the door was much, so leaving by the door wasn't an option.
Searching around they found a long rope in the small storage room inside the office.
They tied it to the window frame and let it down, it was long enough and managed to reach the window of the lab the others were in.
In the Biology lab.....
Emily and Sandra searched the laptop for information while Irene sat in a coner complaining.
After searching for what seemed like an eternity they finally found something surprising.
"WTF", Sandra screamed and told everyone in the room what she found.
While still exclaiming they heard a knock on the window startling them. Irene was the first to come back to her senses and opened the window for the two.
"Brother,we found something interesting",she said while grabbing Victor's arm like she did all the work.
