Chapter 42: Fight with Kalyavan
As Aryan left the tent, Subhadra watched him go with a mix of emotions. She was grateful for his timely rescue and felt a sense of safety now that she was free from her captors. Her heart carried a subtle warmth from their encounter, but she also couldn't help but feel a touch of shyness in his presence.
With Moksha transformed into it's guardian form, Subhadra took a deep breath, ready to follow Aryan's guidance and await his return.
Her trust in the him was unwavering, and unconditional. She herself didn't know why but she had a feeling that he would do everything in his power to ensure her safety.
Aryan, on the other hand, had a determined look in his eyes as he rejoined the chaos of the army camp. His mission was far from over, and he now had to confront Kalyavan, a formidable opponent awaiting him outside.
Back to the front of the tent, Aryan was relieved to see that Kalyaan was still trapped in his nightmare and hadn't awakened.
"Now let's see. "
Aryan pondered carefully about what to do next.
In fact, there was one more thing that Aryan didn't tell Karna. And that's also the reason why he didn't want to delay this matter and attacked in the middle of the night itself, without even waiting for the next day.
The reason is simple. Because after hearing about Kalyavan from Karna, Aryan suddenly remembered something he read a long time ago in the cave.
According to the Vishnu Purana and Harivamsa, Kalyavan was the partial incarnation of Krodha Or Anger.
And if this is the case then there is a very high chance that after killing him, Aryan can activate the Dragon's Sin of Anger and get another powerful ability.
But he feared that if he delayed till morning and Krishna reached Kalyavan before him then it's very likely that just like in the original timeline, Krishna would lure Kalayavana into the cave where the great king of Treta Yuga, Muchukunda, one of the forefathers of Rama, was in a deep slumber of thousands of years after helping the devas in an epic war with the asuras.
Desiring an absolutely undisturbed sleep, he had been given a boon by Indra that anyone who dared to disturb his sleep would get burnt to ashes immediately.
In the original plot of Mahabharat, in the darkness deep inside the cave, Krishna covered Muchukunda with his scarf. And Kalayavan, assuming him to be Krishna, kicked him, thus disturbing the king's sleep, and was burnt to ashes.
But now, although Aryan has managed to reach here before Krishna, but he is facing another big problem. He can't think of any way to kill Kalyavan.
Krishna had openly admitted that even his Sudarshan Chakra or even Bhramastra for that matter cannot kill Kalyavan thanks to Lord Shiva's boon. That's why he had to resort to to treachery and used the loophole that Muchukunda had no battle intent at that time and neither did he attack Kalyavan himself. It was just the effect of Indra's boon and was thus not considered a battle which unfortunately bypassed his boon's protection and killed Kalyavan.
Although Aryan himself can also use this method and it would be in fact even easier with the help of his illusions. But the problem is, that way the one who killed Kalyavan will be Sage Muchukunda and not him. So he won't be acknowledged by the system.
Now Aryan had to devise such a method where he attacks Kalyavan without engaging him in battle, which is contradictory in itself since even a sneak attack/ assassination counts as a type of battle.
And while Aryan was still struggling with finding the solution, Kalyavan finally managed to break out of the nightmare.
"Roar... "
As Kalyavan broke free from the nightmare, a roar echoed through the camp, signaling his return to consciousness. Aryan knew he had to act quickly and find a way to deal with this formidable opponent.
"You.... You're not Krishna. Who are you? "
Kalyavan roared angrily as he still had some fear about the nightmare which Aryan unleashed upon him previously.
But soon his anger overtook his fear and he attacked Aryan violently.
"Hmph, it doesn't matter who you are. I am going to kill you nonetheless. "
Following that Kalyavan rushed towards Aryan while brandishing his mace and swing at him.
Since he didn't have Moksha by his side and even Sunshine ability was in an inactive state at night time, Aryan wasn't sure to fight Kalyavan in close combat and thought of a countermeasure.
"Kaleidoscope! "
This is a spell / mantra that lets Aryan create a vast number of illusions of a select individual within the area of effect.
The next moment, multiple phantom clones of Aryan appeared all over the place and all of them looked extremely life like.
"Huh? Are you using your Maya against me, just like that treacherous Krishna? I'll kill you. "
Kalyavan got enraged, as it seems that he has an allergy to anything that reminds him of Krishna.
He lost his reason, fell for the ruse and began wildly attacking the phantom clones, unable to discern the real Aryan from the illusions, hoping to catch the real one ultimately.
In the meantime Aryan fired a few Blackout Arrows from time to time, rendering him unconscious for ten seconds each time and buying him valuable time for thinking a solution.
Suddenly, Aryan remembered one of Gowther's ability from the anime Seven deadly sins - Kill Switch.
Then, a bold idea struck Aryan. He remembered an ability from the Seven Deadly Sins anime known as Kill Switch which is an application of Gowther's Invasion ability. This ability allowed the user to deactivate an opponent's powers temporarily, with the drawback of not being able to use their own abilities during that time.
Aryan wondered if he could use a variation of this concept to disable Kalyavan's boon, which was protecting him from harm. It was a daring plan, but he had no other options.
Now although he wasn't very sure if it would work if the power he was trying to deactivate was not just an ability but a boon, but there was a possibility, right? How would he know if he didn't try it.
