Chapter 4: Chapter 4: The Four Thinnest Books in the World

It had been a few days since Dudley drew the Magus Constitution with the seaweed-headed magician. After the initial frustration, Dudley quickly adjusted his state of mind.

Life had to go on as usual. Instead of complaining and blaming everyone, Dudley decided to find ways to improve himself.

So, Dudley threw himself into the physical training of practicing Ripple Hamon.

St. George's Primary School.

"Dudley, I heard you went to Oxford Dragon Primary School last time. How was it as an exchange student?"

Several robust boys in rugby team uniforms grabbed Dudley's neck, asking with a friendly face.

Not all students were afraid of Dudley. He wasn't a brawler, and he didn't go around causing trouble.

As he said himself, he hated trouble.

As long as it didn't touch his principles, Dudley was usually quite "gentle, elegant and easygoing."

Of course, these rugby -uniformed boys were not students of St. George's Primary School; they were graduating students from the adjacent Smeltings Middle School's boxing team.

"Not interesting. It's a bunch of nerds there," Dudley said, taking a hot dog and munching on it.

Hearing the system message in his mind, "Eat a complete hot dog, +1 experience," he felt extremely relieved.

Besides occasionally issuing tasks, the Mage Training System supplemented energy by ingesting food. Dudley could activate some ordinary life skills with experience points.

Of course, those skills had nothing to do with magic and were more like everyday life skills. Examples included English, mathematics, chemistry, firearms, boxing, and archery.

This thing called the Mage Training System was extremely stingy about magic-related matters, but it was quite generous with others.

Anyway, eating was enough.

That's why Dudley was called the "Food Keeper."

Touching his food meant becoming his enemy.

"I heard the students there are very smart. Has our Mr. Dudley been discouraged?"

"Smart? Just average, slightly above the standard. There's nothing impressive about just burying yourself in books."

Dudley waved his hand, picked up a cup of "Happy Water," and drank it in one go.

"Drink a complete cup of Happy Water, +1 experience."

Thinking about the experience of being an exchange student at Oxford Dragon Primary School, Dudley found it amusing.

He had given those bookworms a good lesson, both academically and athletically.

Every time he thought of those little girls and boys with snotty noses and tearful faces running back, Dudley found it amusing.

Oxford Dragon Primary School was located in Oxford shire, England, and was a coeducational private primary school. It claimed to be a preparatory school for Oxford University.

As everyone knew, a preparatory university was like, well, a joke.

In fact, with Dudley's grades and abilities, he shouldn't have been at St. George's Primary School. As for why the Dursley family sent Dudley and Harry to this school, the main reason was that it was a public school, meaning it had lower tuition fees.

You see, the Dursley family had to bear the cost not only of Dudley's schooling but also of Harry's.

Just look at the clothes on Dudley and Harry.

Harry wore Dudley's old school uniform, and although Dudley wore new clothes, the material was really ordinary.

Add Dudley's big appetite, and their lives seemed even more frugal.

In reality, the Dursleys weren't as wealthy at first as when they first appeared in the movie. Their situation improved only two months ago.

Dudley's father, Vernon Dursley, joined Grunnings thanks to his sister Marge Dursley's recommendation and successfully negotiated a large drill order. The situation improved only after that.

Now, they were discussing the possibility of transferring Dudley to another school; otherwise, Dudley wouldn't have gone as an exchange student.

However, Dudley didn't want to go to another school mainly because Harry wasn't there, and Dudley couldn't take advantage of him.

Given the tuition fees of private schools, the Dursley family couldn't afford to send both Dudley and Harry to such a school. Even if they could afford it, they wouldn't let Harry go.

Dudley's mother, Petunia Dursley, and his father, Vernon Dursley, didn't particularly like Harry. As for the reasons, it's a long story.

Finishing the last bite of his food, Dudley happened to see Harry coming out of the school building with his backpack. Dudley turned to his friends from the Smeltings Middle School's boxing team and said, "It's been a while since I stretched my limbs. Want to spar a bit?"

...

After a strange moment of silence, everyone exchanged glances and began finding various excuses.

"I have something to do today."

"My mom asked me to come home early."

"I left my door unlocked at home."

In the end, only Dudley was left.

Because of their good relationship with Dudley, they understood his terrifying nature better. Training with him was purely seeking trouble.

Dudley pouted. "Tsk, boring."

He walked briskly toward his dear little cousin Harry, put his arm around him, and affectionately said, "Let's go, let's go home together."

Watching the two walks away until they disappeared at the end of the street, the students of St. George's Primary School collectively breathed a sigh of relief.

"Poor little Harry is going to be bullied by his evil cousin again."

"So, are you going to rescue him?"

"Are you kidding? Do you want me to die?"

That's how rumors are formed, even though Dudley and Harry had a good relationship. Well, at least Dudley thought so.

The two lived at 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey, not far from the school, about a twenty-minute walk.

Seeing Harry absorbed in walking, Dudley broke the silence, taking out a few crumpled banknotes from his pocket. "Harry, this is the £8.50 left from repairing your glasses. I think it's not safe in your hands, so I'll keep it for you for the future, maybe for your wedding."

"Sure, Brother D."

Harry had heard these same words countless times; his ears were practically calloused.

Dudley felt satisfied, pocketing the crumpled banknotes.

At this moment, Dudley transformed into a stingy Grandet Dudley. Not that he was actually stingy, but Harry's existence meant that every account needed to be meticulously recorded to ensure the system's energy collection.

Fortunately, most of the food Dudley consumed was converted into muscles. Otherwise, with his eating habits, he would undoubtedly become a round Dudley.

Pushing open the double doors of the townhouse, Dudley, with his highly sensitive sense of smell, caught a whiff of the aroma of dinner, instantly increasing his appetite.

Undoubtedly, the four thinnest books in the world are: "History of America," "German Jokes," "War Heroes of Italy," and "English Recipes."

There really isn't much tasty food in England, except for the universally known fish and chips. There are basically no impressive dishes.

But no one said that the English had to cook English food. Petunia Dursley excelled in German cuisine, and the taste of crispy pork knuckle was quite good.
