Chapter 40: His Friend Was Dead Set on Troubling Him Now

When Leslie was overwhelmed with cringe due to the four staff, Calix faced trouble of his own. The nuisance came in the form of an annoying friend.

Calix was diligently doing his work when he received an internal call from Edward. The latter announced a surprise visit of a well-known guest. The assistant's voice echoed through the intercom line.

"Boss Xu, Boss Qin's here."

Slightly stunned, Calix's peaceful expression changed. That was not what he expected to hear from Edward. He glared at the office phone.

"Why is he here? Isn't he a busy man?"

Instead of getting a reply from Edward, Xander's voice reverberated from the end of the line. He declared, "Don't run away. I'm going inside your office now."

Tut.

"..."

Calix blinked impassively when Xander quickly hung up the call. His friend deliberately refused to hear his response. The latter was dead set on troubling him right now.
