Chapter 8: Chapter 8 - Delusional Love

"Who are you?" Odion asked, his voice trembling with the fear of the unknown danger as his body oscillated.

His fear was evident, his eyes betrayed him, engulfed in fear due to the betrayal by his childhood love and the darkness he couldn't see through. His body, too, betrayed him; unable to move his limbs, he felt a confusion and fear manifest into a dark creature. This entity, with multiple limbs like an octopus, used its tentacles to push him into an eternal ocean. In its depths, breathing became difficult, and the force of the water threatened to crush him - an illusion of terror that mirrored the tumultuous emotions within Odion.

"You asked who I am? I am dependent on what you will perceive me," the enigmatic avatar replied. "But wait, you cannot perceive me, as you cannot see me. Tell me, who am I?" The enigmatic avatar sat beside him, its gaze fixed on Odion.

"Here, a gift from me," the avatar raised his hand, and a dark mist from the surrounding started to gather in his palm.

A dark sphere formed in his palm, black in color, made from various layers of mist in continuous motion. The sphere floated from his palm and hung in the air above Odion's body.

As it reached above Odion's body, the different layers made from mist began to untangle and flow like a serpent, entering his body through Odion's hollow eye. It resembled water finding its way into an endless hole, creating a whirlpool in a lake.

This whirlpool in his hollow eyes caused immense pain in his body. The dark mist serpent that entered through his eyes emerged from his mouth, then from his nose and ears, only to enter through his eyes again.

His body writhed in pain and agony, as if praying for death. It became a living hell for him, with his half-body rising and slamming in the ocean, a torment that seemed endless.

"Yo... you... demon, what do you want from me? What have you done to me? Where am I?" Odion shouted, his voice laced with a mix of fear, confusion, and frustration.

"So, you're familiar with those terms - 'Demon,' 'Asura,' 'Rakshasa,' 'Daitya,' right? Is that what immediately springs to your mind? Malevolent entities, creatures who eat humans as food perhaps? Creatures reveling in the torment of humans, relishing in chaos, harboring grand ambitions of dominating the world?" The enigmatic avatar leaned in, a self-assured smirk gracing his lips, subtly challenging Odion.

"Why does this image of a demon spring into your mind? Demon? Devil? Asura? Rakshasa? Daitya? Have you ever asked yourself this question?" The enigmatic avatar questioned with a hint of incredulity, as if daring Odion to challenge their preconceptions.

"Is it because of my action or is it because of your condition? Or do you think your condition is because of me?" The enigmatic avatar said, "But isn't your condition because of the one whom you loved so dearly, your first childhood love? Did you forget this?"

"You call me a Demon? But isn't she was the real Demon in the form of a human?"

"What makes you think that 'Demon' is some race or different entity? Isn't the evil action what makes you a demon, even if you are human? Doesn't your action define the meaning of god or demon?" The enigmatic avatar's words served as both a motivation and a challenge to the reality Odion knew, pushing him to reconsider his perceptions of good and evil, human and demon.

"No... She is not, I know, I know, it was because of her father," Odion, unable to believe that his love had betrayed him, spoke with a mixture of laughter and crying. "It was because of his father," his voice shifted from laughter to a dim, struggling tone, reflecting the confusion in his mind as he grappled with the blurred lines between truth and lies.

The avatar laughed, its head tilting upward toward the endless sky of the Tirunatu realm. The laughter, though unable to echo, dispersed into an endless eternity.

"Oops, I laugh like a demon? Does my laughter make me a demon?" The avatar questioned, a sly smile playing on its lips. "You foolish, innocent child, unable to see the reality," the avatar added with a mix of amusement and condescension.

As the conversation between Odion and the Avatar continued, Odion endured the hellish pain caused by the black mist. Time seemed to stretch endlessly, but the pain that had felt like an eternity suddenly started to fade. Despite some lingering aftershocks, the gift from the avatar granted him a new perspective on the world.

The once hollow eyes regenerated, and a new pair of eyes appeared.

Soon, Odion became aware of a sensation in the place where his eyes once were. It felt like there was something there - a glimmer of hope surged through his veins. As he slowly opened the eye, it felt as if a faint, dim light was falling on his retina. Blurry images started to form, and he blinked frequently, trying to make the images clearer. However, the images forming in his brain through his newly acquired eyes remained blurry.

"Do not worry; it will take some time. Meanwhile, just listen," the Avatar reassured him.

"You gave me new eyes, why? And what is this blue light? It's blurry; I can see some text only," Odion expressed confusion about the blue light falling into his eyes.

As he lay prone on the ocean, his head facing the sky, a blue screen flashed before him. His new eyes were not fully functional yet, and the light from the blue screen, along with the text displayed on it, formed a blurry image. It was evident to him that there was something floating in the air above his head.
