Chapter 34: Heroine and villainess both

"Brother, you really didn't saw her hiding around here." Aliya asked as she kept roaming here and there in a rush.

Ali shook his head and wanted to refuse when his gaze stopped by a glass window, behind which he could clearly see the silhouette of a little girl standing silently, while poking her head here and there every now and then.

'She forgot to turn off the lights.' He thought realizing this girl actually wasn't as smart as he thought she was.

Ali wanted to play along and see how long she could hide, when his sister followed his gaze and found her too.

Aliya, who finally found the little culprit, walked towards the closed window with slow steps, making sure she didn't make any noise and alerted the little devil.

"Did she run into the kitchen, I'll go there and check." She said, stopping just behind the window and then started stomping her feet on the ground like she was walking away.

Shashi, who heard those words couldn't help but giggle, but then covered her smiles with her hands and stood there. listening as the sound of footsteps completely disappeared.

After a few more seconds of patience, she slowly turned around and walked towards the door of the room she was staying, to change her hiding place, like a clever little girl she was, but just as she opened a door..

"Boooooo!!!" Aliya shouted at her face loudly, causing her to scream and tumble to the ground in fright.

".ahahhaha got you now, didn't I?" Aliya said triumphantly, after a hearty smile as she bent down and picked her phone, which fell down from Shashi's hands.

While Shashi could just glare at her angrily, with misty eyes, until she heard another laughter from across the room and saw Ali laughing at her too. Feeling embarrassed and angry she did what every other kid would do in her place.

"Waah aaaaa (sob sob) hmmm aaaa"

The melodic sound of crying broke the hearty laughter of both siblings who just looked at each other, as if pointing it was your fault.

"Okay, okay, don't cry. I won't laugh anymore." Aliya said as she bent down and tried to wipe her tears, but Shashi just slapped her hand away and started crying even louder.

Ali, who saw this scene, came forward to help. Giving a light slap on his sister's head, he grabbed the crying girl from the ground and lifted her in his arms. "There, I even gave her a slap. She won't scare you anymore."

Under Aliya's aggrieved eyes Ali just took the girl, who stopped crying and walked away.

"Did she bully you much?" He asked when the little crybaby stopped sobbing and wiping her snot and tears all over his shoulder, to which Shashi shook her head in denial and refused.

"Does it hurt?" He said placing her on the soft mattress and asked if she felt pain when she fell down.

"Ummm umm" Shashi shook her head as she rolled on the bed, and slept down with her arms open and feet hanging in the air.

"Do you like the house?" He asked as he passed her a rubik's cube to play around when her hands couldn't stay still and started rummaging through his stuff.

Shashi looked at the colorful box in her hand and started playing catch with it. "Tis big. Cho bid." she said about the house, spreading her arms to show how it was too big, but forgot to catch the cube which ended up falling over her stomach.

"Tskk" She clicked her tongue and threw the bad toy away with a sour expression.

The broken words and how fast her mood changed from crying to happy and then to angry again, brought a small smile on Ali's face as he rubbed her head and said. "Well you'll be staying here then. I'll tell Em to get you a room and then we'll go shopping tomorrow. Okay?"

"Shopppping" Hearing the word the little girl jumped over the bed excitedly and ran out while happily giggling and laughing to herself. "Chopping bith da phief untle, yeah. ."

Ali, who was just smiling at her antics had a black line over his face as he heard the 'thief uncle' and promised to teach her to correct it later.

If she shouted it like that tomorrow openly, what would anyone who heard it think?

He just shook his head and decided to turn back and get freshen up before going back down for dinner, when Aliya bursts inside his room and stood by the door with her hands on her waist.

Ali looked at his sister and asked "What happened? You need something.."

"How are you? You didn't get into some stupid fight again, did you?" She asked as she came inside and looked at him to see if he was hurt anywhere or not.

"I didn't, I swear." Ali said, stopping his sister, who was about to touch his injury at the chest. "It was just a small bleeding, they just changed the bandage and I'm fine."

Ever since she found him sneaking in the house all covered in bruises and swelling after he went into one of those fight clubs with Shiva, the image of a nice but idiotic brother she had of him had changed a little.

She even had him promise he won't do anything stupid like it again, or she'll tell mom and dad about it.

"Mom called, she said you wanted to start working at Star Corp now." Aliya said and sat down on his bed finishing the Rubik's cube that Shashi threw away. "Did the fever of love go down, or is it just another one of your impulsive episodes since you had a fight with her?"

Ali smiled hearing the taunt, but he replied back "Hmm well, we did have an argument, but that's not it. I won't waste any more of my time."

"I've heard those same words before." Aliya said with some skepticism over this change her brother promised their mom.

"Well, then why don't you just go and call Liv, we'll all have dinner together just like back when we were young, does that sound good?" Ali said not really sure what else to explain. So he just kept his words to himself and planned to show them by his actions that he did change, or at least he's trying to.

Aliya looked at her brother for a few seconds in doubt and then left the room while saying. "You better not try to slip away saying some important work came up."

"Wow, no one even trusts me now." Ali said, shaking his head with a smile.

'System, show me her appraisal.' Ali said checking what he's been worried about a little..

"How is she both a heroine and a villainess?" Ali asked as even after reading everything he didn't get his answer.

[System authority level not enough.]

"Does it has anything to do with that hidden role?"

[System authority level not enough.]

"Well, atleast she's not adopted or something." Ali said with some relief in his voice after seeing the same surnames in her name.

"Wonder what Liv is like?" He thought and actually started looking forward to the dinner.

On the other hand, Aliya who left his room looked at her phone for some time, hesitating if she should call her friend or not.

She really didn't want to call her and then see her get disappointed again if her brother left to please that girl again, leaving them behind.

She still knew how her idiot brother had the habit of ignoring other's feelings and follow that proud girl for no reason. The last time he did something like this Liv had left the city in a fit of anger and didn't talk to anyone for a month, now that she finally returned again, she didn't want to do this to her again.

"Well, if he pulls something like that again, I'll just beat him until he gets some sense knocked into him." She said to herself and finally called Liv.

Since both families lived nearby, it shouldn't take much time if Liv agrees to come here.
