Chapter 10: Extermination 3
It took about 2 minutes for Devan to complete the runes for the fourth stage but he managed and even filled half of the first rune circle with fresh Blood Mana which immediately got turned infused with Shadow essence.
After that they headed to the last settlement where the Hobgoblin champion who was the leader of the goblins stayed, obviously by now the goblins had noticed something was wrong so Devan and Arpous met alot of Goblin scouts along the way which allowed Devan to test his strength.
Since Devan's bloodline allowed him to grow strength twice his actual Mana cultivation realm his 4th stage strength was more like 8th stage strength but as he got used to his strength he realised while usually Blood cultivation is supposed to be mostly focused on one attribute his was improving all his attributes.
Which meant that other vampires either had much higher speed or strength or mana but he had higher everything and now he couldn't help but thank Lord Alucard again for giving him strength.
As Devan and Arpous slowly made their way to the last settlement they fought together both separately and with Arpous in Devan's hands changing to each of his different weapon forms to make Devan used to them and to train him.
As if blessed by some sort of natural talent Devan could easily weild all the weapon forms from Dual Daggers to short sword and even the most complex one a bow which paired with his incredible vision and senses was an absolute cheat that would take out anyone slower than him with arrows made of Devan's Mana.
Soon they reached an arch of sorts that looked like the entrance to a temple courtyard and Devan could see an even larger amount of glowing stones in this area than the amount that was in the other areas.
With all the glowing stones illuminating the cavern Devan could see the temple like ruins and the goblins , goblin warriors and Hobgoblins standing in his way.
Choosing not to delay here Devan raised his palm letting out about half the blood he had collected from the goblins and turning it into multiple sharp crystal spikes he shot them forward killing all the goblins and the goblin warriors but only stabbing the hobgoblins and not killing them.
Infuriated the goblin warriors roared and Mana begun poaring out of them as they activated their innate ability something the hobgoblins of the previous settlements did not have a chance to do as they died fast.
As a silvery aura covered the goblins they grew slightly bigger and their eyes turned blood red before they leapt off the ground all aiming right for Devan only to loose balance midair and start convulsing then collapse infront of Devan.
An exasperated Devan simply walked on collecting more blood and condensing the blood into an actual sword made of pure condensed crystalline blood that had Arpous' venom in it.
The sword was heavy due to it being made of condensed blood but it was nothing Devan couldn't handle so he continued heading for the Goblin champions abode finding a couple of mages standing before a gate looking ready to stop him.
The mages all had a spell circles around them and a translucent barrier protected them reminding Devan of the other mages and their unstable barrier. This barrier was better though and Devan's innate ability could only find two weaknesses in the barrier.
But he felt no need to break the barrier and instead decided to use Mana against this mages so as the mages begun preparing a spell to attack Devan he just sta down to meditate and sent half his remaining Mana out of his body turning it into a spike and there it right at the barrier.
The goblins laughed as Devan's Mana spike pierced the barrier but failed to go though stopping at the outer layer but blinded by their assumptions of victory they didn't see the Mana spike melt back into Mana which then flowed right into the barrier and begun taking it over.
Soon Devan had control over the barrier and the Goblin mages had just barely realized something was wrong only to be run through by spikes of pure Mana made from their own barrier and their own Mana hence killing them.
His time Devan drank all of their blood refilling his Mana almost halfway as these mages where stronger and more experienced than the first ones.
Now ready to absolutely decimate the Goblin champion Devan continued into the Temple only to be met by a very suprising site.
Vampires were technically an undead race so they needed both a specific energy to cultivate and grow stronger and a specific material to make their weapons and artifacts that are able to channel their unique energy and that material was called Blood stone.
Though Vampire could also use Crimson ore to make even more powerful things it was way more rare than the already rare blood stone.
But inside the temple Devan was seeing loads of Bloodstone growing on the walls probably fueled by whatever was capable of allowing the bloodline evolution herb to grow in here.
Since it is a precious resource for Vampires Devan decided to take all of it so that when he eventually met the Vampires which he was sure would happen he would be able to give them something worth their attention.
As he filled the spacial ring with bloodstone after bloodstone Devan came across another strange stone shaped like a scale too and it had a strong glowing gold aura around it and slightly irritated Devan's skin when he got near but nothing serious so he kept it just incase he needed it too.
By the time Devan had reached the altar of the Temple Devan had collected over a thousand Blood stones and over 200 of the golden scale stones which he had a very strong idea of what they were and their origin.
And now he could see the Goblin Champion but it seemed Devan had come at a terrible time and now that he had stopped focusing on the Blood stones and the Golden scales he could hear and see what the Goblin champion was doing.
Funding the scenario disturbing Devan just shot multiple Mana shots at the naked goblin champion causing the female Hobgoblins under and around him to scatter as he flew back crashing into a huge pillar.
Not giving the champion anytime to recover Devan activated his other spell obtained from the grimoire releasing blades of Dark highly condensed Mana that easily cut the champions skin and almost killed him but he resisted until the blades were done before collapsing exhausted and immobilized but still very alive just as Devan needed him.
