Chapter 29: Ch-28:Altair's Journey Starts

The two, after their little emotional reunion, conversed about a lot of things after Raon successfully calmed down the afraid and shaken Altair.

Altair had cried non-stop after finding out the reality that her mother had certainly died, which was devastating for her young self.

Raon got bewildered, as it was the first time for him to face such a situation, and he let her cry it out for a while before she calmed down a little.

Raon then told Altair about unknown enemies who were after her mother, Lia, due to some complicated situations, and that he would surely take revenge for her.

Altair was obviously their child, and despite her traumatized state, she said that she wanted to punish the evil ones who hurt and ended up killing her mom.

The two delved deeper into their conversations alongside the past that Altair experienced because Raon was also not entirely aware of it.

He didn't want to make any mistakes that would break his own daughter's trust in him, as he was quite conscious of what he said.

In the end, Raon talked about meeting his master, as his wife wanted to take in a female disciple, and Raon wanted to let her test Altair only if she was comfortable with starting her cultivation journey.

Altair agreed as she was aware of the vast and unfair world that her mom told her about and the requirements to even be able to have a say in such a world.

There were a lot of requirements that Altair remembered, like one's backing, master, and family, but conversely, if one did not have strength in this world, then even their current support would pull them down from their throne.

This was the sole reason she decided to accept the offer of being tested as a disciple, because even with her trust and naivety, she was sure that without enough power she would just be extra baggage and a burden to her father in the long run.

Just as the two were waiting since Raon used a thought transmission talisman, Si-Eun and Junho arrived to meet the two after an entire day since Altair had woken up and Raon had been bringing her up-to-date.

"I am Junho; your father is under my direct tutelage" said Junho with a smile, but his eyes were closed just like ever.

"My name is Si-Eun, little one. Raon here asked me to test if you could be my disciple" said Si-Eun with a stern and serious expression marring her beautiful face.

Naturally, there was no way she would go easy, despite her inner self being super excited to know the elemental affinity and talent grade of Altair.

'What will be her talent? Green? No, blue! No! It should be purple, or maybe red? Red or Purple...'

'Ah! What about her affinity? Raon said Lia had ice while he... Wait, what affinity does he have?'

As Si-Eun was lost deeply in her thoughts, Junho sent her a divine sense message.

'Don't build so much stress on her. Just test her already.'

Those words brought her out of her reverie as she took out the talent-checking orb.

Si-Eun explained how to use it to Altair as she pricked her finger and placed it on the orb.

The orb immediately brightened, with a gray color changing to brown, then yellow, then green, then blue.

The colors changed to blue in a few moments, as it stopped at blue for twice the amount of time it stopped at others before it abruptly changed to red.

It seemed that the red grade would be the end, but it slightly changed as a bright, thin purple hue covered the outer layer of the orb as it shined once again.

The red color was totally dominant, but the purple sheen was also easily discernible as the trio came to the same conclusion.

The lost vitality of Altair had pulled back her talent from purple to red, but some remnants still remained, which made sense as her vitality had recovered in the centuries she had been trapped in the formation, as that was the only speculation that made sense to them at the moment.

Altair was unaware of the colors and was quite nervous due to the three bearing serious expressions as she awaited the verdict.

"Little one, Your talent grade is purple, but it has been crippled down to red. The grade goes like this: gray, brown, yellow, green, blue, red, and purple, making yours second to none." Si-Eun said with a slight smile, still maintaining the little facade.

After hearing that, Altair was evidently ecstatic as it increased her chances of being accepted as a disciple, skyrocketing, making her ignore the crippled part that she was informed about.

Junho didn't want to let her think about it now, so he simply brought out a large orb and twelve small orbs surrounding it that were interconnected through some weird mechanism.

"This is an affinity measuring orb. Your talent is pretty decent, but we need to know your affinity before giving you a cultivation technique that suits you the best" said Junho as he asked Altair to do the same thing which was to prick her finger and drop the blood on the larger orb.

The larger orb shone a bright green, with nine smaller orbs shining brightly and the tenth one being dimly lit as well.

"Congratulations! You have a wind elemental affinity, and your affinity with the element is also very high" said Junho.

Raon went to Altair as he stood next to her excited self, who was naively certain that she would grow many times stronger with a master now guiding her.

"Alright, I'll take you as my direct disciple for now, but you'll have to prove yourself to become my legacy disciple" said Si-Eun.

After hearing this, Raon bowed to the two, shortly followed by Altair, who kowtowed and accepted Si-Eun as her official master, as informed about such procedures by Raon in advance.

Leaving Altair to rest and sort out her thoughts, the three went to improve some cultivation techniques that could be given to Altair when she finally starts cultivating.

This step was crucial for every cultivator, but Raon could be considered an exception since he was creating his own cultivation manual without any elements unknown to even his masters.

He had undoubtedly read and improved hundreds if not thousands of cultivation techniques, yet both of his masters had better base knowledge, so he left it for them to choose.

"Rising Gale... Wind Cutter... Blossom Fall... Silent Wind..."

"Violent Gale... Twin Wind... Tornadic Chaos... Leaping Steps..."

At the time Junho and Si-Eun were thinking and taking names of various cultivation techniques with wind elemental affinity in them, Raon was busy writing something else.

What Raon was writing was the basis of cultivation required by everyone who wanted to cultivate, as it was the same for everyone born in this world.

What his masters were talking about started in a higher realm, but the starting phases before entering the true cultivation journey were the same for every single one of them, irrespective of their talent or affinity.

However, Raon forgot that both of them were from the upper realm, as he didn't know that such steps weren't even needed as even newborns were above that stage.

Raon gave the pages on which he wrote the basics to both his masters, who were a little surprised, and embarrassment overtook them as soon as the realization dawned on them.

Si-Eun immediately went to Altair to aid her in starting her cultivation journey before Altair made some irreversible mistakes in her overexcited, happy state.

With the resources, guidance, and Altair's talent for cultivation, all it took for her to require a proper cultivation technique was merely one month.

She surpassed the initial stages with a strong foundation established with the help of heaps of resources and personalized guidance throughout the entire process.

In the meantime, when she was not cultivating or practicing weapons under guidance but was cultivating where no guidance was required; Si-Eun, Junho, and Raon were working on her cultivation technique.

The three spent an entire month improving the cultivation technique daily based on the feedback from Si-Eun regarding Altair.

They had discarded the thought of using an existing cultivation technique as it wouldn't fit due to her lack of vitality, forcing them to create an entirely new technique that would be specific to her.

The technique would maximize the effectiveness of cultivation, as it was created in conformity with her body's constitution and could be said to be her unique cultivation manual.

The three didn't name it and decided to leave it to Altair because the cultivation manual belonged to her as it could be used solely by her, alongside its future developments awaited based on her feedback.

With this, Raon and Altair both underwent their journey to be taught strictly by their masters for the next century, being taught what any legacy disciple should.

This secluded training as legacy disciples changed them as well as the entire power dynamic of the Empire under two Upper Realm Masters in the background.
