Chapter 18: Omnisword

Lilly thought for some time and then it clicked her. She understood why he was fearing her even though she didn't do anything.

She actually had the royal blood of Veloxithans with her so of course the bloodline in William's body would feel fear to her.

"Hmm, maybe it's because of my bloodline, after all it's superior to yours." Lilly said as they approached a cliff, "I mean technically it isn't yours anyway."

William nodded finding it reasonable.

Reaching the cliff she turned towards William and put her hand forward saying, "Give me that sword."

Willam became hesitant, the sword was his life so he wasn't willing to give it to anyone. But he knew that if Lilly wanted then she could have taken forcibly and he wouldn't have been able to do anything.

Thinking of that he took the broken sword and gave it to Lilly.

Lilly took the half-bladed sword and began observing it. Her eyes began sparkling as she observed more and more. She felt the smooth but sharp edges of the blade and felt really excited.

"Hehe, who would have thought the great Omnisword would be in the hands of a chubby boy like you." Lilly grinned and said.

Although he felt embarrassed at being called chubby boy, he had other things to think of so William asked, "Do you recognise it?"

"Haha, of course, I recognise it. At first, I just had a wild guess but now I'm sure of it," Lilly smiled and raised the sword in the air.

"This sword is the Great Omnisword once wielded by the Strongest Being from Veloxithans, Alban Robillard," Lilly explained and turned to look at William, "Surely you have heard of him and the Veloxithans, right?"

William stood there dumbfounded as he looked at the sword with his eyes wide open. Of course, he knew about Alban Robillard, he was known as one of the greatest fighters who fought during the Dark Era.

It was said he had reached the peak of Demi-God rank. What was Demi-God's rank? It was the peak of the world, the rank everyone dreams of achieving but never reaching there. The current number of Demi-Gods in the world could be counted in one hand.

Of course, nobody mentioned the Imperial Family of the Great Yan Empire, they were a forbidden topic to be discussed about.

"Hehe, looks like you do know about him. Yes, this broken sword was once wielded by him and it was actually the strongest in his arsenal." Lilly said as she marvelled at the sword.

Even for someone of her status artefacts like this sword were rare. After all the Omnisword was a Demi-God rank artefact and just the rankings suggest the rarity of these artefacts. Lilly only had one artefact of this rank, her bow that her father gave to her.

She swung down the sword infusing her energy in it. She didn't imbue any elements in it as she just wanted to see the power of it.

With a boom, the cliff in front of Lilly was cut in half. Air rustled around her as she looked at the results of her casual strike. She smiled as her hair fluttered in the fast-blowing wind.

Willam stood there dumbstruck, his jaw almost touching the ground. Was a five-metre-high cliff cut by a casual strike? Was the sword so powerful or this girl?

But he had used the sword and knew it wasn't just because of the sword. She was powerful. He looked at her and asked, "Is this your power?"

Lilly giggled at his comment and said, "Of course not, this was just a strike infused by nothing but energy. I was just testing the power of this sword."

Lilly then looked at the sword in her hand and said, "I have to say it deserves its reputation. It's in a broken state or more like in garbage conditions but still managed to display this power."

William took deep breaths to calm himself down and asked, "Can you please tell me more about this sword?"

"Hmm, actually no. Just explore it yourself, believe me, that's more fun," Lilly instantly denied, "I'll just tell you somethings which could be helpful for you now."

"Please," Willam bowed and requested.

"Let's go on the cliff first," Lilly said as she jumped and easily reached the top of the cliff. William shook his head and also climbed the cliff.

As he reached the top, something was thrown at him. He hurriedly caught the item and looked at the broken sword in his hand.

"Take it, it's broken but still a great weapon," Lilly said as she patted the ground beside her. She was sitting on the edge of the cliff her legs dangling in air.

Willam nodded and went to sit beside her. He found it surprising how calm and relaxed he was around Lilly. He was someone who always remained wary of everyone so why was he putting his trust in Lilly?

"Anyways so about this sword of yours, as you can see it, It's a broken weapon," Lilly explained, "In one of the major wars, Alban Robillard was killed. It was a tough fight where five Demi-Gods have attacked him."

"Five Demi-Gods? So many? How do you know it so clearly? I mean it could be rumours." Willam said, bewildered hearing the number of Demi-Gods.

'Because Dad told me about it,' Lilly wanted to say but kept it in. Her father had many times told the stories of the Dark Era but never really explained much. But he really loved telling her about his friends.

"Just understand that it's the truth. Anyway that sword was broken in three parts, one of them which is in your hands. Alban had himself broken the sword so that the enemies can't have it." Lilly said, "And if I remember it right then he had said that if you bring all three parts together then you can remake the previous Omnisword which was said to even cut the skies."

She looked at Willam and said with a smile, "So technically you're the inheritor of Alban Robillard."
