Chapter 4: Chapter 4 : The magic of the Bosses

Rei descended from the cart of a kind gentleman who had willingly helped him make part of the journey towards the academy. He had noticed that he was the only one receiving messages from the system, the only one coming from Earth.

Rei was determined to become stronger in this magical world. He headed towards a dense forest, his bow drawn and an arrow ready to be shot. The trees parted before him as he ventured deeper into the forest, and the sound of his steps resonated in the peaceful air.

The system suddenly displayed his statistics in front of him, floating in the air like luminous holograms. There were new stats thanks to his advancement to Level 4:

Strength: [10]

Agility: [9]

Mana: [20]

HP: [40/40]

Skills: ...

Rei took a deep breath, focused his gaze on the system, and whispered to himself, "It's time to level up." He unsheathed his bow and took a combat stance.

He heard muffled sounds coming from the bushes. A monster emerged – a two-headed serpent, a weak creature but one that would help increase his stats. Rei adjusted his position, aimed carefully, and released an arrow. The projectile cut through the air and precisely hit its target.

The system came to life, displaying an instant update.

Rei was finally at Level 5; he could now choose his class. Without hesitation, he decided to choose the Mage class. With this class, he could finally regain his much-missed magical arrows.

Strength: [15]

Agility: [13]

Mana: [40]

HP: [50/50]

Skills: Basic Archery, Low-Level Elemental Magic

Rei was eager to improve his skills and set out to find more monsters. He arrived at the entrance of a cave, a cave he recognized as the home of one of the largest monsters in the forest – the formidable Giant White Bear. This monster was not only strong but also exceptionally fast. It wore armor, enhancing its ability to tank attacks.

"I have the perfect skills for this monster; it will give me a lot of XP," he thought.

Rei began his preparations. His mana level allowed him only to use magical arrows, so he had to be quick and precise. After an hour of waiting, the bear appeared. Rei shot without hesitation, but despite perfect precision, his level didn't allow the arrow to hit the bear with the right force. The monster growled and stood on its hind legs, sniffing for Rei.

Rei shot another arrow, but in vain. He quickly realized he needed to adjust his strategy; the bear was tougher than the monsters he had faced so far. Concentrating, he moved rapidly in the environment, hoping to evade the creature's keen sense of smell. In the shadows, Rei adjusted his position, trying to blend in with the surrounding nature. The bear continued to growl, searching for its prey. However, Rei had no intention of remaining passive; he decided to employ a more cunning tactic.

He wanted to try a skill he had seen in a tutorial from the real world.

He shot another arrow, not towards the bear, but towards a tree above it. The arrow transformed into a magical trap that activated as soon as the bear passed underneath. Enchanted vines wrapped around the beast's legs, holding it firmly to the ground.

The bear roared in frustration, but Rei didn't give it time to react. He aimed for its eyes and then its head with arrows from a medium distance. The bear finally fell, and Rei, exhausted, collapsed as well.

The bear brought him a substantial amount of XP, restoring his health and mana. Rei took the bear's skin and teeth, valuable items he could sell in the academy city.
