Chapter 51: Chapter 51 Arriving on an Alien Planet

Although Kara acted very decisively, testing was not something that could be accomplished in one go. Austin still had to tell her some crucial information and potential issues in advance - this was called revealing the ugly truth upfront.

Seeing the eager Kara, Austin took out the TamPad and then said,

"I will open a portal shortly. On the other side of the portal is an unknown planet. I can only guarantee that the ecology there is very similar to Earth's, and it's under the irradiation of a red sun, but I cannot guarantee whether it's safe there or not."

Seeing Kara about to say something, Austin raised his hand signalling her not to interrupt, and continued,

"I understand your determination, but I still have to make these things clear to you. The main purpose of this test is to see whether the red sun radiation there can affect you Kryptonians, but accidents can easily happen during this. If the red sun radiation is slightly higher, you may die."

Austin was not exaggerating. The climate between planets could only be considered basic. The radiation from each star was the biggest factor affecting this test.

Kara had already been enhanced by the yellow sun now. If she was suddenly exposed to a red sun with energy greater than Krypton's original radiation, the result would be like a red hot metal instantly dropped into ice water - this degree of contrast could even threaten Kara's life safety.

This was only the most superficial threat. In fact, after experiencing the Ruins Universe, Austin now saw the abilities of each superhuman as time bombs, as if these abilities could destroy the ability of users themselves at any time.

Take solar radiation for example. Radiation itself was difficult to detect and confirm, not to mention each person had different physiques.

If Kara had an allergic reaction to the red sun radiation there, what awaited her would also be death. This was something Austin absolutely did not want to see.

It was also because the destination of this trip was very dangerous that Austin hoped Kara could make the decision herself.

"No need to say more, I'm going!"

Kara's answer was still the same. Her resolute look made Austin admire her for a moment - perhaps hatred could really stimulate the energy in one's heart.

Seeing Kara's attitude of disregarding life and death, Austin hesitated no more. He found the location marked [Zod's Tomb] on the TamPad screen and pressed the button to start crossing.

The next moment, the air in front of Austin and Kara suddenly shook rapidly. Then a purple rectangular energy barrier unfolded up and down like a door, standing upright before the two.

Looking at this passage to the unknown planet, Kara was a little nervous despite her verbal decisiveness. After all, she had been imprisoned for so many years that her mental age was about the same as when she first arrived on Earth, only a little over ten years old - still a child.

Austin was also a little nervous, but he soon adjusted his state of mind. However, looking at this purple portal, Austin was certain that this TamPad must have been modified by someone.

Because in his memory, the time portal of the Time Variance Authority in the Marvel TV series Loki was golden, very different from the one he opened.

"Ready? I'll go first and check it out, you follow behind me." Austin looked at Kara and said as he walked into the portal.

Austin's idea was simple - the conditions of that planet were all similar to Earth's, with the possible exception of the red sun. So he should not have too much reaction going over first. On the contrary, if something happened to Kara following behind, Austin could directly kick her back.

Although it didn't sound very elegant, this was the only "safety measure" Austin could think of.

Stepping into the purple portal, Austin felt nothing, as if the portal was just a hologram. But very soon, a gust of wind came and Austin suddenly realized that in just a blink of an eye, he had arrived at a gobi desert.

Without rushing forward, Austin was even holding his breath at this moment. After all, this was the first time on an alien planet. Austin was very curious and vigilant about everything, even breathing needed some mental preparation.

Looking up, red sunlight covered the earth. Different from the sun on Earth, this "red sun" was not so unbearable to look at. Austin could even see something moving irregularly on the surface of the red sun.

After a while, Austin breathed lightly and shallowly. After passing through the lungs, there was no abnormal feeling. At this point, Austin's heart eased a little. It seemed this planet was really similar to Earth.

Then there was movement behind Austin. He immediately realized it was probably Kara following him through the portal. So Austin got fully prepared, afraid something might happen to Kara.

Soon, Kara's figure walked out of the portal. Unlike Austin, Kara's actions were very natural, without any vigilance at all, just a somewhat wooden expression, probably nervous.

"Austin, is this really an alien planet?" Kara was nervous at first, but when she saw the surroundings, she was instantly attracted and also very shocked.

Just as the two were in a very vast gobi desert, with gravel under their feet and some withered plants dotted around, in the distance were grotesque rocks and boulders, many irregular huge rocks scattered on the ground.

In the sky, apart from the red sun, there were four huge planets orbiting around, probably this planet's satellites. In addition, there was even a visible asteroid ring, giving a very spectacular feeling.

Kara was certain this was definitely not Earth. Moreover, not only was it not Earth, but even this planet was not within the observable range of Krypton. This was also the most surprising thing for Kara.

It was known that even Krypton did not have the technology for intergalactic travel. But Austin could actually easily open a portal to another planet. This itself was an extremely astonishing ability.

"Yes, this is an alien planet. I feel it's still okay, the environment here really doesn't have much impact on Earth people, even with a different sun." After a pause, Austin asked, "What about you, how do you feel now?"

Seeing Austin looking like he was ready to kick at any time, Kara was a little amused.

"Me? I don't feel anything. Did something go wrong?" Kara looked at her hands, asking uncertainly.

But when she looked up, she saw Austin pointing at her face and saying, "Are you sure you don't feel anything? Your nose is bleeding."
