Chapter 2: Chapter 2 – Letter
After calming down, Kira looked at the desk and on it, with a couple of posters and pictures there was a single letter waiting there, a handwritten message for him, "To my dear son."
"A letter? The lawyer didn't tell me about any additional letter, heh, what did that old man plan?"
With a calm look on his face, Kira opened the letter and prepared himself to carefully read every single word in this letter, as this is probably the last time he would be able in any way hear his father's voice.
"I didn't think this day would come so quickly. A day I would need to say goodbye to my dear son, my pride and joy. You know I was always proud of you, of the way you grew up, you become a fine young man. I know that as a father I wasn't the best but at least I tried haha. Kira, I don't want to make this too sad so before I say the final bye to you, I want to say this. With all the stuff I will leave you there is something that is really dear to my heart. You know what I am talking about. My animation studio, really my passion. I am leaving it to you. I won't ask you to keep it but at least please leave it in the good hands. My dream was always to make anime, don't know why but I just wanted to do it, making the greatest anime ever was my goal. Do you understand how foolish that was, making something greater than One Piece, Attack of Titan and the rest of the goats? It seems I left without reaching it but I am happy because I was doing something I love. So, my son don't feel burdened to succeed me, always do what your heart wants. Don't ever forget that.
Yup, I think that's all.
My dear son, I love you.

"Anime, huh."
With a lost look on his face, Kira stared at the letter, while thinking about something only he knew.

An animation studio? You might wonder what is this man talking about. For you to get the full picture you will need to understand what kind of man Kira's father was. When he died, he was 45. A vigorous man full of laughter and optimism and also a big anime fan.
He watched anime from when he was just a young child and that passion of his never died. With that, he also fell in love with Japanese culture, and as you can see, he even moved to Japan to live here. Also, it is worth mentioning that he got married before he moved to Japan and that makes Kira, a person without any Japanese blood…Yup, you are right, he was named after his father's favourite anime character.
So, with all that said you can guess that he was basically a big otaku, but also an otaku that had a big dream – he wanted to make his own anime, not just any anime, the best anime.
As he was a man of action, he contacted his best friend and with his help, he gambled all of his money in the hope that he is going to fulfil his dream.
After a long battle with documents and papers, he opened his small studio in the town of Kisato where the main plot of this wonderful novel takes place.
He named his studio - Nexus Animation. A studio that after his passing he left in the hands of his one and only son.
Now, what will Kira do and what will be the future of Nexus Animation?
