Patricia Crawford look at the little guy before of her with intrigued.
How dare him asked her out?
How dare he look at her with that confident expression?
The way he look at her carelessly, smirking as if nothing can fazed him triggered something within her mind.
'When was the last time someone gave me that exact same expression?' she mused as she remembered her youth, or more specifically, her dad.
'Right, that guy always wore the same smirk every time he messed up my hair and called me 'ugly,' Patricia thought, feeling lost in her heart.
That's right, her father called her like that, and the worst part? She thought that it was her nickname until she was eleven when someone explained to her what it means.
The bastard was just always like that—unreliable, drunkard, annoying, and... has she already mentioned how much of a bastard he was?
Honestly, he doesn't know how to raise a child, and literally, he made her wear boys' clothes throughout her childhood until she was ten. The expression on his face as he gazed at her naked body was dumbfounded. And guess what he said?
"Holy mother f*cking cow, Pat, so you're telling me that you're a girl all this time?"
"How the f*ck do you not know that I'm a girl?" she asked, speechless, looking at her father in disbelief.
"That... well, of course, I knew, I just forgot it," her dad explained half-heartedly. And then, a few minutes later, as if nothing happened, he was gone to visit a friend of his, probably to get drunk... again.
"So?" The little guy asked, snapping her back to reality, and that smirk on his face reminded her of that bastard again—careless, confident. Like, honestly, why is mom even head over heels for someone like him?
'Oh, whatever, I don't care anymore. This little guy is probably testing me or something. He doesn't really want to ask me out, and he doesn't care whether I decline... What a cunning little bastard,' she mused as she stared at him.
She was a clever girl, reigning as a social queen and adept at interacting with almost anyone, proving that her emotional intelligence (EQ) was intermittently high. The fact that she could still participate in various school activities, such as drama, music, and dancing, all while maintaining a GPA score of 3.4, also showcased her excellent mind.
Her observation ability was unlike most kids her age in high school; she could see people's intentions at a glance. Well, it doesn't always work since there are many people who are very hard to read, but for those who suck at masking their intentions?
'I admit that he was good at pretending more than most people, but unfortunately, it wasn't good enough to fool me.' Looking at the little guy in front of her, she had to admit that he was skilled at masking his intentions.
"Anyway, I've been really tired these past few months," she thought, remembering how her life has been ever since her dad left—school, study, dating, practice, music, and many more.
It's not that it's boring or anything; on the contrary, it's the opposite. After all, she's a popular girl, admired by both men and women, and the fact that she swings both ways makes it even more exciting.
However, being happy-go-lucky all day is still too much, and lately, she has been feeling a lot exhausted for some reason. Before, she always found it exciting whenever someone invited her out to a party, but lately, she just can't muster the energy to even get out of her room.y
Giving a playful glance at the little guy before him, her lips curled mischievously as a naughty idea crossed her mind.
Nodding her head, she uttered with a playful tone, "Kayyy~"
