Chapter 8: a journey to the journey
There is a story that a young master of medium sized sect accused the society of being cheated and demanded compensation relying on the backing of his father which was the sect master. But the next day the entire sect disappeared from the face of the world with no clues to who did it but people knew that it definitely got connection to the blue hall society.
After that incident nobody made a fuss over there but still speculate what happened but none dared to try it.
Ken found his destination seeing a sign of a green stork carrying a package, as I was about to get in to the building a burly guy blocked my path and said "no mortal is allowed in this establishment in here. You should take your business elsewhere, sir"
Ken didn't try to argue "I am just a messenger. If you like you could come with me and see it won't take long."
The guard grumbled seeing my response but he motioned junior guard to take me in. as me and my new bodyguard went in we were greeted with a spacious reception area covered with white marble all around us with some green decoration.
The reception didn't discriminate me and offered her trained smile which by the looks of it melted the guard beside me who look dazed.
I got down right to business "hi I would like to auction of this item in exchange for a general yin-yang acceptance letter and 5000 qi stones." As I took out my token which hasn't been refined. Seeing the token the receptionist got flustered not expecting this item.
She immediately called her supervisor to show the item authenticate its genuineness. The supervisor who looked like she a hawk and examined the token for some time an nodded her head and turned to me "done, but we don't have the letter at this branch it will take about 2 days to get it but you can have the money right now."
I didn't want to carry around this kind of money around a place I don't know so I agreed to take the whole sum after 2 days. And received a received a receipt shaped like a stork.
As I got out the auction house I felt more like I was cheated because of how easily she agreed but I couldn't do anything about it this the price I had to pay for security.
For the next two days ken did nothing but train his body to get familiar with his new body and adapt to his mortal reflexes which was a hard task to accomplish because of the 17 years of muscle memory influence which he was trying to renew.
Just she said on the two day mark the paper stork went up and started to swirl around his room.
Ken immediately set off to the auction house to receive his package. Ken was greeted at the reception with a different person and after showing his receipt he got his package which was in a small wooden box with a stork on it. After checking the contents
Ken thanked the receptionist and went straight to the ship dock to board which looked magnificent than the last time he saw it with many boat like airship that were the size of a three storied building with vibrant colors.
A got on a one of them to head into thousand fragrance city which was said to be the place the 10 year general recruitment is held and if he didn't before two months he would the letter will be annulled.
The journey took him 1 month and half to arrive to the city. As they were descending to the ship doc the passengers including ken were saw a jaw dropping gigantic ship floating right above the doc because the doc didn't have the capacity to hold it.
Ken was mesmerized with this big piece of art with ship covered in white with different ruins roaming around the metal hull of the ship which gave it a majestic feeling when people looked at it.
The ship was so big it could comfortably house tens of thousands of people. Ken couldn't enough of the sight of a ship the size of a city floating above another city. Anyone who saw this sight might decrease the majesty of normal cities.
Ken and other passengers got out of the docs to find the recruitment site but first head answer the angry call of his stomach and headed to the closest restaurant to fill it.
Ken was amazed at his own abnormal appetite but he could figure out why that is later after ordering a food two families he cleaned the plates with record speed and got up and left with amazed looks of people and the staff.
Ken knew he was grabbing attention but his full focus on showed people he didn't like to be disturbed or he might go berserk.
To gather info on the place of recruitment he went into the pub next door. And started to chat with bartender which looked friendly enough while ordering a light beer which the tender brought as ken asked
"Hey I heard the recruitment for the yin-yang sect is in this city that the price the inns skyrocketed men I couldn't even find a trashy place to stay in. I mean why they don't just directly go to the yin yang sect and get tested and stop crowding the city."
A middle aged man in a straw hat who was drinking next to me laughed out loud and said "you look like a young man are you here to get into the sect? If you are tough luck kid they only recruit based of reservation for being elite among sects or something like that."
I answered "I got tested once for a sect near where I grow up they said I had no aptitude so how would I try. I was just frustrated with prices.
By the way what in god's name did that ship come from it was so big the whole doc couldn't fit it."
