Chapter 26: Where Are They?

More unexpectedly, early on the third day, those who were usually the most oppressed and miserable unexpectedly received a portion of food!

Who could have done this?

The crowd began to discuss it, and the lower-class people had already considered Clark and his group as heroes!

In Big Beard's bar,

Big Beard took a hearty sip of his drink, "Cheers!"

Clark sat on the sofa, nodding in satisfaction, "How about it? Initially, you were reluctant to share your stuff, and now, how does it feel?"

"It feels damn good! This is the most satisfying day I've had here!" Big Beard laughed, trembling a bit, "In the past, when I stole things, it was just for my buddies and me to eat. Now, I feel like a hero, a big shot!"

"Now, let's see how the other side reacts!" Clark snorted. It was essential to quickly figure out Olivia Turner's location. Relying solely on his own investigation was too slow. It might be better to provoke the other side into action, providing a better chance!

In the center of the fortress, within a two-story building that resembled a fortress, there was a dark secret room upstairs.

"A bunch of useless people, can't even find out such a small thing. I don't keep trash under my command!" A proud voice came from the secret room, "Mad Dog, find out those people and throw them out to feed the zombies!"

A man with white hair walked out, tilting his head back. A terrifying scar on his face made it difficult to determine his exact age.

"Captain!"

All the soldiers who saw him became nervous. This was the leader of the craziest and cruelest alliance army squad within the fortress.

He had no interest in promotion or women; his only hobby was killing, and regardless of the target, be it zombies or ordinary people, they were all his prey. "Summarize all the intelligence for me!" Mad Dog sat in a first-floor office, analyzing the information. "

On the first night, a large amount of items were stolen from the warehouse without detection.

Then, a day later, the supplies were distributed without anyone noticing. This doesn't match the actions of those we knew before, and the time gap suggests a lack of unanimity among the perpetrators!" "Have there been any new arrivals recently?" Mad Dog asked without turning his head, engrossed in his thoughts. "Captain, two days ago, a group of refugees arrived!" the soldier hurriedly answered. "Investigate their backgrounds, see if they've stayed quietly at the resettlement point, and find out if anything happened on their way here. I want all the information within an hour!"

Mad Dog ordered. Soon, a dossier was placed on Mad Dog's desk. He opened it gently and, after reading for a while, his gaze lingered on a passage of text, not moving away for a long time. "To encounter that thing and still manage to survive is intriguing. Is this person confirmed to have come to the fortress? Why is there no follow-up information about him?"

Mad Dog repeatedly rubbed his index finger on the part describing Clark, lost in thought. "Reporting, Captain, this person left on his own after entering the port. Currently, we have no new information about him!" the soldier quickly replied. "Search for him discreetly.

Remember, don't make it public!" Mad Dog smiled, lifting a cup of pre-brewed coffee to his lips. "The Supreme Commander urges us to solve the case quickly..." "Ignore him. Pretend like nothing happened!" Mad Dog showed no urgency and continued sipping his coffee.

In the following days, the once bustling fortress gradually returned to calm, as if nothing had ever happened. "It's strange; the Alliance hasn't taken any action!" Big Beard sat in the bar, taking a sip of beer.

He was still immersed in excitement, but reason told him that not being investigated might actually be a good thing. "Supplies are the lifeblood that keeps this place running.

They can't possibly be indifferent; the more silent they are, the more it indicates that a storm is about to come." Clark looked at the frail people outside, lost in thought. "Let's do it again, and this time, let's make more noise.

I want to see how patient they can be!" Clark said with a smile. "After the last incident, it might not be easy to succeed now!" Big Beard looked excited yet somewhat fearful. "No worries, this time, we'll target the largest warehouse!" Clark made a direct decision. Big Beard remained silent in excitement for quite some time.

That night, the group infiltrated the fortress's largest warehouse. Their actions were almost identical to the previous ones, and unexpectedly, the guards had not strengthened their defenses!

Whether it was the other side judging that no one would dare to steal here or the people of this era having weakened theft awareness to the extreme, Clark couldn't tell.It was easily accomplished! After loading several large bags of supplies, Clark instructed Big Beard and the others to evacuate first.

Then, deliberately setting a fire around the warehouse perimeter, the flames soared, immediately causing a sensation.

The chaotic night passed, and on the second day, the fortress once again buzzed with activity. Another day later, Clark and Big Beard were in the bar, having already arranged for people to distribute the food.

However, a white-haired man walked in.

"Al... Alliance Captain!" Big Beard dropped his beer bottle in shock.

Clark, on the other hand, looked at the newcomer, surprised by the speed of the visit and the direct approach.

"You must be Clark?" Mad Dog didn't even glance at Big Beard, found a chair, sat down, crossed his legs, and looked at Clark with interest.

"Stealing from the warehouse, deliberately leaving a message to let people know it was stolen, making an even bigger scene the second time. I think your purpose is not just to acquire some supplies, is it?" Mad Dog analyzed with a smile.

"How did you find this place?"

"Simple, baiting the hook! The first time you stole supplies and distributed them, so I just needed to keep an eye on who was giving them things and follow the trail to find you!"

"Finished!" Big Beard's legs trembled in fear, hands supporting himself on the bar.

"I ask you, where are the women in the fortress? And my friend, where are they?" Clark questioned loudly.

Mad Dog's expression changed slightly but immediately returned to its previous state. He showed no intention of answering that particular question.

"This has nothing to do with you. What you should be concerned about is how to get out alive. I don't have the patience to throw you out to feed the zombies; that would be too troublesome!" After saying this, Mad Dog clapped his hands.

Five Alliance soldiers rushed in, all wielding laser guns, aimed at Clark.

"Don't kill me, I..." Big Beard was scared and crouched on the ground.

Clark looked at him with some helplessness, not blaming him, just finding him lacking in courage.

Mad Dog walked up to Big Beard, looked down at him, a strange smile on his face. He gently raised his right hand, a laser beam targeted him, and then it pierced through his body.

Big Beard fell to the ground.

"Why did you kill him?" Clark asked angrily.

Although he hadn't known Big Beard for long, the man had good character; he shouldn't have been killed like this.

"Stealing Alliance supplies, just this one reason, and I can take his life at any time!" Mad Dog said with a smile, the reasons didn't matter at all. As long as he wanted to kill someone, that was enough.

The five Alliance soldiers shivered slightly, apparently also shocked but dared not speak.

"Let me think, should I kill you here or take you back? The boss really dislikes you!" Mad Dog muttered to himself as he walked toward Clark.

Just as Clark was ready to resist, a black object was suddenly thrown in. It landed on the ground, touching the surface to send a signal. It extended a few small tentacles, stood up, and immediately locked onto the target, charging towards Mad Dog.

"It's a mobile bomb!" A soldier recognized the object.

"Captain, run!" Some soldiers ran out without caring about their lives.
