Chapter 2: Slave Ares

Rose Manor, as one of the eight famous manors of the dynasty, has the largest slave camp and arena in the entire country.

The slave camp and the gladiatorial arena were both built in the west, occupying a huge area, but there were too many slaves, at a glance, most of the slaves had no shelter from the wind and rain, unless they could survive in gladiatorial fights and wars, win for the lord, so that they can get a thatched house that is sheltered from the wind and rain.

Although Ares is a new slave bought by the lord at a huge price, he has not yet been in the arena, has not won any reputation for his new master, and naturally has not been assigned a shelter.

However, when he arrived last night, he severely wounded a slave who owned a house, so now that slave's house belongs to him.

The tall and strong man walked along the dirty path, and other slaves carefully avoided Ares along the way. After all, his deeds last night had already spread to every corner of the slave camp.

The man didn't react at all. He walked into the newly robbed house and pushed open the broken wooden door with consistent steps.

In the dimly lit room, a woman's high-pitched voice and a man's heavy breathing came from the room.

Ares frowned and looked at the man and woman in the corner of the room.

When Bart saw in the backlight that the person coming was his brother, he immediately woke up. No matter which step he took, he immediately pushed the woman away. He quickly stood up and put on his clothes. He tried his best to breathe calmly and push the woman beside him who was still addicted:" Go back first, I will find you later."

The woman was still a little obsessed, but when she saw that the person coming was Bart's brother, she immediately lost all interest and immediately put down her skirt and straightened her clothes.

Bart reached out and quickly helped the woman straighten her skirt and messy hair, then hugged her to the door.

Ares did not make any move to avoid it, occupying the short door frame with his unusually tall body.

Bart knew his brother's character very well and did not ask him to step back. Instead, he pulled the woman and climbed out carefully against the door frame.

But just after walking out of the door, Ares, who had been silent all this time, suddenly reached out and held the woman's neck without any warning.

The woman flinched and looked at Bart as if asking for help. She had seen Ares beating someone ferociously yesterday, and she couldn't even imagine what the consequences would be if that fist fell on her.

Bart also found it strange that his brother and he had completely different personalities, brother has never been interested in women, not just women, he is not interested in anything, and all his energy is vented in the quagmire of the arena.

This time the two brothers were sold here for the reason that the lady of their previous lord was extremely obsessed with his brother, so obsessed that she couldn't eat or sleep, so the lord planned to let his brother be his wife's lover, but his brother refused.

The lord tortured his brother for several days to no avail, and finally sold them both to the notorious Lord Coles Spencer.

Ares didn't look at his brother's confused expression. He calmly touched the woman's neck. This was an extremely ambiguous action, and both Bart and the woman were a little surprised.

"Ares, you like her?" Bart frowned and said hesitantly: "I don't really mind, but you have to ask her first if she agrees and then you can do what you want."

Ares took back his hand and rubbed his fingertips. He lowered his eyes and took out a coin from his pocket and put it on the woman's hand. Then he walked into the dark cabin and closed the wooden door.

The woman outside the door was a little dazed looking at the large coin in her hand. Bart looked back thoughtfully, looked down at the woman and comforted her: "Ares is apologizing to you, just keep it with peace of mind."

This coin was enough for her to eat a lot. The woman looked at the wooden house gratefully: "Your brother is such a good man."

Bart smiled noncommittally when he heard this. His brother had no sense of right and wrong. He simply didn't like troublesome things, but there was no need to tell her this.

Bart sent the woman away, got into the room, and lit a candle.

Ares was lying on the bed covering his eyes with his hands, no one knows what he was thinking. Bart took out a cloth bag, walked to him, sat down and handed it to him: "Do you remembered when you beat that man yesterday, he was bullying a woman. The woman thought you were beating him to save her. So she was very grateful to you and just sent a bag of food to us."

Bart said and felt a little funny. His brother was not so kind. He just needed a house and the unlucky man happened to bump into it.

But regardless of whether he meant well or not, he still saved someone, so it was okay to receive some things. Bart reached out and took out the food from the bag and handed it to his brother without any guilt.

Ares didn't answer. He put down his arm in front of his eyes and looked down at Bart, frowning slightly: "Don't sit next to me."

Bart was stunned for a moment, then he remembered something and lowered his head to smell it. Sure enough, it had some smell.

Man who have never experienced love thing will be extra sensitive to this smell, but Ares didn't mind it before. Bart felt a little strange, but he still got up and opened the door a crack, and sat next to the door to let out the smell.

"By the way, have you found the entrance to the hot spring stone lion's cave?" Bart asked while eating.

Ares looked a little weird. He licked his lips and narrowed his eyes and said, "Found it, in the pool."

"Is there a big space inside? Is there an underground space or an underground passage?" Bart asked excitedly.

"There is no passage, but it can hide something." Ares answered the question, and unexpectedly thought of the cramped space again.

When he first arrived at the manor yesterday, he was led to repair the hot spring. During the repair process, he discovered that the stone lion was hollow inside. He guessed that there was an underground space, so he took a look in the morning.

It's not an underground space, it's just a space for people to get into the hollowed-out wall of the stone lion and take a peek.

Bart nodded and said, "As long as it can hide things, I'll go over there at night and hide our things in there."

Ares looked at the dim roof in a daze, blinked when he heard this, and said slowly: "I'll go."

Bart raised his eyes to look at his brother in confusion, blinked his eyes, and suddenly laughed: "Ares, did you encounter someone over there?"

"You just touched my girl to test something, right?" Bart looked at him with a smile: "Your clothes have been washed and you are still curious about women. When I get close, you even think I stink."

"I guess you met a woman you wanted to touch. She might smell very good, but you must not have touched her, so you tested it on other women, and the result was not as you expected, right?"

Ares has been introverted since he was a child, his face has no fluctuations, and he speaks very few words. Just few people can detect his thoughts, but Bart knows his brother very well and can guess it accurately.

Ares didn't respond to his words, closed his eyes, raised his hand and covered it in front of his eyes again.

Bart looked at him funny and encouraged him: "It's useless to dwell on it. You have to let her know how you feel about her."

Ares still had no respond, lying silently on the cramped little bed, breathing heavily.

Bart wasn't angry either. He glanced at his brother's movements of occasionally stroking his fingertips and grinned.

The room was quiet for a while, with only the sound of Bart chewing food. It wasn't until the horn sounded that Ares opened his eyes and sat up from the bed.

The first fight after they arrived at Rose Manor was about to begin.

Ares lowered his eyes and listened to the sound of the horn, and finally there was some interest in his eyes that had always been calm...
