Chapter 8: Unexpected Help & A New Beginning

Ten minutes later, the bus stopped again, and Maria got off. She walked for a couple of minutes and entered the restaurant where she worked. Magician Jack stood by the restaurant door, keeping a close watch on Maria.

Once Maria entered and sat at the receptionist's chair, Magician Jack confirmed that she worked as a receptionist here and decided to wait, knowing Maria would stay there for a few hours. He decided to explore the city, doing some window-shopping.

Around noon, Maria was still at her job, lost in deep thought. Her boss, John, approached the reception and asked her what was wrong, noticing her sadness and anxiety. Maria initially denied anything was wrong but eventually mentioned being tired due to a late night with her son, Hanry, at her aunt's house.
