Chapter 26: Demon slayer....2
I looked at the great tree that was just some distance away, and we are all running right now. As we got closer to the tree, the Demon finally shows itself as we go to his hideout. So right now, we are running from the bastard as he is fast for a house-sized.
Sunny looked back and asked, "Are you really sure you can take on that bastard? Just look how big he is." I don't want to talk while running towards a Tyrant from a Demon, but I guess nothing will change if I answered.
"Well, if I buff myself to the maximum, I can stop him all by myself. Then you and Nephis can attack that bastard from the back. But first, we will get to that tree, and you guys climb the branches and hide Cassia on top." I gave them a look as we run, and they nodded. The plan was not too complex. Sunny will leave his echo with me, and I will hold down the fucker, and they will join me in a bit.
We ran till we reached the tree, and I turned to face the Demon while they run to climb the branches. I can finally see the bastard carefully; his eyes were hollow, but he carried himself with pride. His hands were scythes bigger than me, and his legs were thick like trunks and sharp. As I for the first time used all my strength, I had as he made a big slash, and I grabbed his scythe-like hands, and it was hard to hold on. He is really powerful, but for now, I am wrestling this Demon.
It did not last long as I can't hold him down with my strength alone, so I am now fighting it with my sword. And he made a big left swipe, and I jumped on top of his hands and propelled myself to get on top of its head, and I started to attack with all my power. But even still, his armor was impressive; it's only cracking a little under my full onslaught.
I made the Demon run around where I go, and just as we planned, I bring him down to one of the branches, and I attack his legs as they are the only point which I can break if I tried my best. I attack at one of his eight legs, and I gave a signal, and Sunny and Nephis, both buffed by me, jumped down on the head of the bastard where I had formed some good cracks in its armor.
They both jumped down after a bit, and I went underneath him. It was dangerous as he can just drop his whole body on top of me. I don't think I will die, but it will hurt a lot. My motive was to cut one of its legs that I have injured already, so that's what I did. I performed my sword's special move and slid across the ground and hit it at the weak spot, and just like that, he lost one of its legs.
It started to tilt to one of its sides, but I was already out from under him, and he balanced himself, and I ordered Sunny to use his echo now. And he summoned the ench, which was 3 meters tall and heavy; it ran straight to its one side and pushed the Demon down. And I jumped on top of the echo as it got impaled by one of its scythes, but it was my tap, and I used all my power and cut off the scythe that was now fully inside the echo. It was coming along great till now.
But Nephis made a mistake, and she was hit by one of the scythes and got ragdolled across the field. I was worried for her, but she was now glowing in her flames, so I knew she will heal just fine, and I signed Sunny to come and attack. He was distracted by Nep, but he followed my order as he have till now or he would have died many times over in this journey.
I was a little angry at the Demon for hurting Nep, so I bolt at full speed while the Demon was down, and i attacked at full power on its head where we have created most crack from the start of the fight. I was successful at breaking all its armor made with polished metal, and now I can see its weak spot, and I jumped down and screamed at Sunny NOW.
As me and Nephis who joined together cut off one of its back legs together, and I pushed the monster forward to tilt it and throw it off, and Sunny with its Azura blade jumped from a tall rock and impaled it fully where we had created the weak spot, and just like that, the Demon stopped moving. I was not hurt but tired, but Sunny and Nephis both got hurt a little in this fight, and the monster fully fell down on one side.
"Hahaha... Good job, guys, we did it! Now, you guys are Demon slayers too!" I got a bit excited as this could have gone a lot worse, but in the end, it went ahead with just some minor injuries.
Sunny was lying down next to the Demon, and he talked while catching his breath. "I can't believe that we killed an Awakened Demon. You are crazy to hold down that monster. Just how are you so strong? It does not make any sense." I looked at Nep as she was now also catching her breath. She has done a great deal of damage to the armor of the Demon but also helped me cut off its back leg.
"It's just my sword and Armor; they buff my strength too with my class that is made to increase my power overall, so I can hold my own pretty good." I was lying to him. Without the Darksouls system and separate stats, I would have turned into paste if I tried to hold that Demon down like I did. But just like that, the night was coming as we have run all day to reach the tree.
"You guys also did great, especially Nep. She did great damage for her power. But now, let's talk about it later. Right now, let's get back to Cassia and hide in the treetop as night is almost over us. Let's go, guys." I was a little tired after running around all day, so we made it back to the top of the branch, and the Dark sea was now climbing, and we did not know, but something horrible was also coming from the deep.
I was the first one to sense it, and then Sunny. We have reached where Cassia was almost, but just like that, I felt dread overcome me, like my mind was going to break. I took the hands of Sunny and Nephis, and we run and hid behind a big tree branch as I felt absolute horror in my bones, cold sweat all over me. I looked at where it was coming from, and it was a mistake as I almost died from just looking at the monster that was coming from the deep.
It was yellow like gold; it was smooth but had a huge mouth. It also had seven eyes; this is all I could even manage to see before I closed my eyes shut. I was experiencing my soul getting crushed, and it was horrible. And if I am not wrong, that monster is a real Leviathan from the deep sea. I can't believe it; such a monster was living in the depths of the sea. I first thought this sea was a result of some terror, but I was wrong, as this monster is also a terror, and it's living in the Dark sea, a corrupted terror. If it found us, we are dead. This tree will not protect us. Our only grace was we hurried to the top of the tree.
After some few minutes of absolute dread, it slowly faded away, just like it came. The Dark sea was peaceful once again, innocent, just like it has nothing in its depths. And the dead body of that Demon was also gone, and I finally remembered to breathe again. I looked at Sunny; he was worse than me, as his eyes were bloodshot, and Nep was shaking like a leaf in a storm. It also would have affected Cassia too, but she was blind; that might have helped. But after that monster was gone, we were quiet, as we don't even bring ourselves to talk. We met up with Cassia, and I can see she had her head down and was crying.
I went ahead and sat down near Cassia and tried to calm her down while also trying my best to remove the image of those seven eyes from my head. It was a horrible monster that I don't want to face. As it was in water, even that tentacle monster is better to face off than that in the ocean. There is no chance we can survive if it attacked us in the ocean.
