Chapter 6: Chapter 06: Adventurers’ Guild
I woke up with an unfamiliar ceiling. I panicked for a moment before remembering what happened to me.
"Oh, right I'm in Amber's house," I stood up and looked outside the window.
"So this isn't a dream…" A part of me was still in disbelief thinking this all was a dream but it now sunk in that this was reality.
"I hope Mom and Dad are okay, I didn't say goodbye." Missing my parents cursed the one who sent me that I wished I could say my goodbyes to them.
I changed to the clothes I had yesterday and went out of the room. I saw Amber sitting at the table with a plate of bread. She noticed me and called out to me.
"Good morning Jun, did you sleep well last night?"
"Yeah, I slept well, are we going to the Adventurers' Guild?"
"Um, eat first before we head out," said Amber as she passed me a plate of bread.
I quickly ate the bread with my stomach full and we headed out towards the Adventurers' Guild. We walked for a bit and as we got closer I saw the building of the Adventurers' Guild. Outside of the building was a receptionist counter and behind it was the infamous Katheryne.
"Hello, Katheryne," said Amber as she waved"
"Hello, Amber, who is your companion," said Katheryne with a slightly monotone voice.
"This is Jun. He wants to register with the Adventurers' Guild."
Katheryne has black hair with bangs, gray-blue eyes, and fair skin. She wears a white dress with a black corset, green accents, and a red bow on the back. She wears green sleeves which reach the back of her hand. Her skirt has a black hem, with green panels on the back and sides, and a red bow on the left. The Adventurers' Guild logo, an eight-pointed star, is printed on the neckline of her dress. She wears a white maid's hairband with a red cross on the left. Around her neck is a black-and-white collar, with a red gem on the front and a keyhole-shaped embellishment on the back. She wears white tights and green shoes. She may look human but she is actually a bionic Snezhnayan puppet.
"Hello, my name is Jun. I'm just a traveler and want to register."
"Hello Jun we welcome anyone who wants to be an adventurer and from what I have seen I can tell you have great potential, you will be a great adventurer one day."
"Thank you?" I said questionably how could she tell, does she have a database that scans people?
"Please write down your details here."
As I was trying to fill up the form I suddenly thought to myself 'How could I understand the language?'
I saw the letters on the form and they were obviously not Japanese but I still somehow understood it and as I was trying to write them down in Japanese my hands somehow moved unconsciously to the different language. This is somehow very strange.
"Would you like to hear the details of our operation?"
"Yes please."
"Each adventurer has their own rank the higher your rank the more rewards you will receive and the more access you have to higher level commissions. In order to increase your rank you will be needing adventure exp which will be gained through completing commissions. Everyday adventurers will be given 4 daily commissions, if you want to do more commissions you need to seek them yourself." explained Katheryne.
"May I know what kind of rewards will be given?"
"The rewards may be Mora, Enchantment Ores, Wanderer's Advice, Primogems, Artifacts, or other items that may be given."
I'm glad to know I will at least be able to get primogems from commissions like in-game.
"What are artifacts?"
"Artifacts are items or relics that have absorbed the energy in domains and to access these domains you need primogems. Each artifact will increase your strength, speed, and many other abilities depending on which artifact you have," explained Katheryne.
So they use primogems instead of stamina in-game. Well, that's a tough decision. I could use primogems to summon on the system but it will be down to luck, but with artifacts, I at least have a guaranteed boost in strength.
"Thank you for your explanation Katheryne."
"It is only my duty, here is your adventurer handbook. It contains available commissions and rewards, and it is also proof of your membership. Ad astra abyssosque! Jun! With effort, you shall reach the stars and conquer the abyss."
As we were done with our business me and Amber left the Adventurers' Guild. I opened my handbook and looked at my commission. The first was to collect 20 valberries.
"Hey Amber, do you know where to find valberries?"
"Oh they usually grow in Stormbearer Mountain, since this is your first commission let me come with you."
"That will be appreciated."
We went out of Mondstadt and Amber led the way to Stormbearer Mountain. We walked around for 2 hours before arriving in the mountains.
"We're finally here," I said tiredly.
"Let's gather them before it reaches afternoon Jun. I'll be looking around this area." Amber said without breaking a sweat.
'She's not even tired. I guess she is used to running around the woods all day.' I thought while admiring her.
We split up and began to look for Valberries. I found some growing nearby. I started putting them in my inventory and after an hour of searching and picking them up, I found more than enough for my commission.
"I guess that completes the commission. I wonder where Amber is?"
I walked around the general area to not get lost. I heard someone calling out to me.
"You, stop right. Who are you, what are you doing here in the mountains?"
I turned around and saw a woman with light blue hair and yellow eyes. She wears a black headband above her bangs with a four-pointed silver, white, and blue hairpin to her left. Her outfit consists of a blue cape on her right shoulder, a backless black leotard covered in white on top, white sleeves, a blue tie, a pair of black gloves with blue palms, blue stockings, and thigh-high boots. Her leotard has a silver symbol of her clan on each hip, and the white cover on top is secured below her breasts with a black belt. Her boots are accented with silver with an additional strap, silver heels with spurs, and blue soles. Her Cryo Vision is pinned to the front of her cape. She was Eula Lawrence, one of the characters in Genshin Impact.
