Chapter 16: We meet again, Young Man
Alex's soul, taking the form of a radiant human light, flowed towards the vortex in the sky, a cosmic whirlpool invisibly drawing in the departed souls of animals. Just as Alex was on the brink of being absorbed, another portal intervened – the very same one with a penchant for William Shakespeare.
"Thou hast returned, once more," the vortex proclaimed, emitting a rainbow-colored beam that caused Alex's soul to shake violently.
"you mother fucker don't eat me, just let me die alone " Alex shouted, taking a moment to survey his surroundings. His hands, now aglow again, brought a sense of relief. "Ha-ha-ha! I'm finally out of that dreadful SHITY PLACE. All I want now is to go home, damn this reincarnation...." Alex vented his frustration for a while before calming down.
Noticing the vortex's resemblance to Shakespeare's speaking vortex, Alex observed its form. Just then, the vortex spoke: "Thou hast failed; thou wilt be absorbed."
"NOOOOOO!! Just listen! I made it to the end, survived! If not for your damn last-minute task, I would have enjoyed my final day," Alex raged, his vocabulary reflecting the effects of his second death. Frustrated, he thought, 'But what can I do? These entities, or whatever they are, can devour the Earth without even releasing a fart.'
"In realms of fate, where choices fray,
Thou art summoned, to Origin's sway.
Altered by decree from high,
Thy path now leads to judgment's eye."
"Can't you speak like a normal person, you insufferable wretch?" Alex shouted in anger, though it didn't ruffle the vortex's composure. The vortex continued its proclamation:
"Take heed, young voyager, to wisdom's voice,
For in these words, thou shalt rejoice.
Hold fast thy dreams, let them be thy guide,
But remember, in dreams, truths may hide.
So, venture forth with courage bold,
But heed the warnings the elders told.
For though the world may seem vast and wide,
Mortality's grasp shall not be denied.
And now, as thou embark on thy quest,
May fortune favor thee, be thy best.
With this parting gift, thy soul shall rise,
To meet thy fate 'neath distant skies.
Fare thee well, in shadows and in light,
Thy journey unfolds, thy spirit takes flight.
But know, dear one, when stars align,
Our paths shall cross, and all be fine."
And with that, Alex was transported away by the vortex, headed towards the Origin.
Alex couldn't forget the vortex's advice, even if he wanted to, as if it was implanted into his soul. Just then, he appeared in a grassland again, which seemed endless.
"Ha-ha-ha, young man, I hope you had fun," just then, a voice called him from behind, as he looked behind, he saw origin, his brother, sitting on the same tea party table and chair, smiling as he was too happy to meet the young man again.
Alex couldn't forget the pain his last task had caused him, but as this old man could hear his thoughts, he had to be as meticulous and calm as possible, not letting the origin know his thoughts.
The origin spoke again, "Young man, I am eons of years old, have seen more races, creatures, worlds than the hair you've had in your life. So, no need to hide from me. I can understand you, so feel free to talk like a friend. It would be beneficial for your path ahead to take advice from me."
Just as the origin said that Alex spoke, "Why did you give the last task, and what do you mean by 'path ahead'? Didn't I fail the task? And what advice are you talking about?" Alex was angry with him but couldn't do anything other than ask questions.
The origin laughed and said, "Ah, young one, let me shed light on the purpose behind the trials you've faced, a matter overlooked in our previous exchanges. I sifted through the sands of your being, seeking the seeds of power while ensuring you posed no threat unto me. Yet, your spirit faltered, lacking the sturdy roots needed for growth. But fear not, for my intentions were not to break you but to build you anew.
I wished to sculpt your soul, to acquaint you intimately with the ebb and flow of mortal existence. Through hardship, I aimed to plant the seeds of humility and understanding, virtues essential for your journey. Each trial was a lesson, carefully crafted to guide your steps, not to hinder but to strengthen.
Think of it as a seasoned traveler showing you the path, a gentle breeze nudging you towards enlightenment. Every stumble, every victory, crafted to shape your character, to remind you of the fleeting nature of life's tapestry."
Alex spoke as the origin stopped, "Can you explain it to me more simply?" while scratching his head, looking embarrassed as he didn't understand what the origin actually wanted to say.
The origin sighed and said, "Young one, the challenges were meant to shape you, like a guide teaching a traveler, to make you stronger and wiser for the journey ahead."
Alex asked, "What about the previous one who was absorbed, and the vortex saying that it will absorb me and all?"
Origin started laughing loudly, "That was to make it serious and get the best effort from you, and if you had performed too poorly, then I would have to give you the normal system and reincarnate, taking away the void child affinity from you." Origin couldn't stop laughing.
Alex thought, 'Damn, I am a shame to all my fellow novel readers to fall for such things. If those readers were to know this, they would declare me the dumbest MC of all time, and the title would be delivered to my name without me asking.'
Alex sighed as Origin continued, "The last man didn't fit the criteria, so I absorbed the affinity and reincarnated him normally by the agents, letting them think I absorbed him. Ha-ha-ha. What do you think, young one? It was fun, wasn't it?" Alex's whole body twitched, remembering the wolf.
Alex asked, "Now, why do people even reincarnate, and what will happen? Are there any other tasks, or am I free?"
Origin stopped laughing and said sagely , "You see, young man, the cosmos is complex, and there are many powerful beings, but they don't want to wait for a world to develop. So, they sometimes use the soul from another world which is familiar with this concept and give them some kind of task, like will the person who is blocking the growth, to be more precise, the evil one. As worlds also have their own laws, and when too powerful beings descend, their aura alone can collapse them."
"Some beings want a strong slave, some want to see chaos followed by the reincarnated person, some are bored and want real life, what you call them - manga, anime, movie, and all. But you see, these beings are bound beings, in general terms, nonduality conceptual beings nor nonconceptual paradox beings whose real essence is the duality of the law and are beyond the world's conceptual plains of theories."
"But many powerful worlds reject them, so planets like yours and many are free of such a reincarnated of heaven's child kind of people as all the conceptual and Meta-existential energy generated are used to block these beings' effects. That's also the reason why so many souls from your world are sought after if they break the Meta-existential realms and come to the dominion of nonconceptual paradox by the beings you call as ROBS."
"And sometimes, a world has its protector or creator who keeps these beings out, letting the world develop its own unique supernatural power system. Well, it is more complex than that, but you get the gist of it, right?"
Seeing Alex's expression, the origin sighed and said, "Some people can reincarnate other because they are powerful and want to have fun but can't leave that plain as that would collapse the world. So, they choose a soul from a world like yours, which has good reincarnating soul potential, and reincarnate them. But your world resists, that's why there's no supernatural or otherworldly disturbance in your world. Some worlds also have protectors to protect."
"Now, if we talk about you, you will be reincarnated as usual soul reincarnated in earth, but you can request two favors from me, which you would owe me, when you become strong. And I will also awaken the true potential of void existence within you. In exchange you will take charge of the omniverse for 10 to 20 billion earthly years, during which I would be on vacation it will be a payment for awakening your potential. Ha-ha-ha."
Alex's mouth twitched, and he said, "You are just a slacker. And what's the deal with 10-20 billion? Are you nuts?"
Origin spoke, "Young one, I feel like I've been a machine continuously working for eternity that wants to enjoy the world it created and wants a break. What's wrong with that? And 10-20 billion years will be nothing if you reach my level."
