Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Eternium

"Emory…Emory….Emory!" Athena called out to Emory whose mind had wandered off after hearing the news about Carlos Vicente and his tragedy.

"Yeah!" Emory snapped out of his inner musings, courtesy of Athena's voice

"What's wrong, you've been acting weird since the Diner. You didn't even finish your food" Athena asked, her voice laced with a hint of concern

"I'm fine, I just lost my appetite that's all. We should call a cab, I have to be home early" Emory said as he stopped walking

"I doubt that " Athena said, leaning closer to Emory on her tip toes and looking up at him, trying to read his expression.

"Athena" Emory said sternly

"Fine, let's go" Athena said, backing down and stretching her hands out to signal a cab to stop.

After a few minutes of waiting, finally a cab stopped for them and took off after they boarded and Athena told the driver their destination.
