Chapter 2: CHAPTER 2:
"Why don't we make a de-", my brain couldn't comprehend the rest of her sentence because not even an inch away from me were two elogated fangs, sharp enough to pierce through skin, jutting out of her mouth as she continued to grin menacingly. My heart leapt to my throat and I couldn't even think properly.
Manon's smile fades away as she sees my reaction and she sighs,". Oh sorry, I totally forgot about those, but don't worry I'm not here to hurt you, like I said before I'm here to make a deal." I don't know if it's from the fear or the ridiculousness of the situation but I start laughing, laughing loud enough that it echoes through the hallway. "Ofcourse you're not going to hurt me, this is a dream."
She raises her eyebrow at me and frowns," I'm sorry to tell you this but this isn't a dream, I called you here, actually this whole landscape is all your creation." Now I'm confused. What is this girl, no, vampire saying. I start backing away from her, maybe if I find a way out I can wake up from this nightmarish dream but then she grabs my arm, her nails piercing my skin, and the pain, the pain is real.
I let out a noise, something animalistic and I realise how frightened I am, nothing like this has ever happened to me, I don't know what to believe, am I going insane...it's a possibility.
Manon is still clutching my arm and looks suprisingly worried." I know this seems weird, but this is all real, the vampires, this dream but you'll find out that many more paranormal things walk this earth and this whole situation is something that you are a part of"
I shake my head furiously," I have no idea what the hell you're talking about, okay! My whole life has been normal, I'm definitely not a paranormal being, trust me I would know, I don't know why you think I'm a part of this but you've got the wrong person."
Manon looks at me with an expression that makes her look centuries old," The person I'm looking for is not a paranormal being, it's a human, a human blessed by the goddess herself, the only one who can fulfill the prohecy." She still hasn't let go off my arm, her grip is like steel, I'm unable to escape.
"Maybe if I play along I can get out of this mess" is what I think to myself so I look her dead in the eye and say," Okay, if I'm this human wouldn't I be aware of this prohecy, this goddess or the fact monsters walk among us!" She flinched as if I physically hit her and not just said a few words.
"It isn't easy to explain Susan, you'll need to hear the whole story and there isn't enough time till dawn approaches, I just need you hear me out, please." Her voice is soft and I can't help but feel that her intentions are pure.
"Okay, I'll hear you out as long as you promise not to drag me back here." I say. She smiles, releasing me arm and continues," Unfortunately I cant help you with that, like I said previously this place is your creation, but I want to make a deal with you. Your school year is almost at an end. I want you to come with me and spend your holiday at The Academy of Magic to learn how to use your powers to fulfill the prohecy."
"So I need to go to some magic school to control powers that I don't even have to do what exactly?" I say flabagastered. Manon puts her hands in her pockets as she says "The prohecy is complicated, we haven't fully deciphered it yet, all we know is that a great evil had awakened and you are the key component to stopping it."
"Do you realise how absurd you sound right now! This whole situation is ridiculous!". Manon puts her hands on my shoulder, looks at me and whispers," I fully understand where you are coming from, but dawn approaches and I need you to promise me you'll come to AOE, please"
I feel like crying I'm not sure why but I take a deep breath and try think this through. Nothing particular is interesting about my life and I really don't have much to lose, if Manon wanted to hurt me she would, and if I am the wrong girl, which I probably am, then I'll just go back home and pretend nothing happened. What's the worst that can happen, right?
I take manon's hand and shake it while confidently saying," Fine, I promise".
