Chapter 11: Chapter 11 : You're welcome!

Chris was taken aback as he witnessed Goofy effortlessly subduing the four individuals on Old Taylor's side. Reflecting on their school days, Chris couldn't recall Goofy displaying such remarkable fighting skills. Could it be that Goofy had secretly taken up martial arts after graduation?

The astonishment Chris felt transformed into a continuous stream of Admiration points added to Goofy's profile, leaving Goofy feeling somewhat helpless. The intense brawl had attracted a growing crowd of onlookers, turning the once-secluded street into a spectacle.

To avoid accumulating more Admiration points, Goofy needed to conclude the fight swiftly. He taunted Old Taylor, "Hey, is this the best you can do? You're just as much of a disappointing coward as your son!" Goofy spat, expressing his disdain.

This remark fueled Old Taylor's fury. Struggling to get up, Old Taylor cursed as he walked towards his car, his slack eyes filled with ferocity. Chris, recognizing the danger from a distance, rushed out desperately, shouting, "Goofy! Run! Run!"

Unfortunately, it was too late to escape. Old Taylor tremblingly retrieved a gun from the car. Unlike his son Sean, this elderly man clearly possessed a real firearm. "Boy, you're dead..." Old Taylor, missing two teeth, spoke with a mouth full of air, but he laughed wildly, his blood-filled smile even more hideous.

Surprisingly, Goofy, being targeted by Old Taylor with a gun, burst into laughter. "Interesting, you are better than your son, and finally let me see the real deal."

At that moment, Goofy was thrilled. In his eyes, what Old Taylor held in his hand was not a threat but a ticket back to the real world. Goofy's plan would succeed if Old Taylor would just pull the trigger. "Come on, Old Taylor, let me see that you're not a coward!" Goofy sneered, "Shoot, hurry!"

Onlookers were sweating for Goofy, and Chris was so shocked that he dropped all the crabs in his hand. Sean only dared to play with fake guns, but the weapon in Old Taylor's hand was genuine.

"Goofy! That's a real gun!" Chris shouted desperately. Ignoring the warning, Goofy whistled confidently, "It's better like this."

As the whistle echoed, gunshots rang out. Onlookers instinctively sought shelter to hide. Goofy's smile grew even brighter - now he could finally go back.

But half a second later, he realized he didn't feel any pain; it didn't seem like he was hit. Lowering his head to check, he found no wounds on his body. Looking up again, he saw Old Taylor, standing opposite, shot in the head, and falling straight down.

"What the hell?!" Goofy was desperate and shouted in frustration. Looking back, he saw Hank standing on the street not far away, holding an NYPD standard Glock.

"You're welcome," Hank nodded to Goofy and then loudly ordered Old Taylor's accomplices to kneel on the side of the road. Goofy felt like he was about to collapse.

It wasn't due to any kindness. After wandering around Brooklyn for days, he finally encountered a murderer willing to pull out a gun, and Hank killed him with a single shot. And now he had the audacity to say, "You're welcome!"

Hank, unaware of Goofy's intentions, assumed he was lucky for saving a life. The old policeman controlled Old Taylor's accomplices with a gun while giving orders to Goofy.

"Dear boy, help me check if these guys have any guns. How dare they carry a gun on my turf; Old Taylor is really something." NYPD's approach was robust, not allowing any leeway for the gangster. Old Taylor, with a criminal record, openly threatened others' lives with a gun in public, and Hank didn't afford him the opportunity to shoot.

The other three accomplices, having second thoughts, knelt on the side of the road, allowing Goofy to search them inside and out.

With Hank's "assistance," Goofy missed the perfect chance to return to his original world and had to follow Hank to the police station afterward to deal with the aftermath.

However, the trip wasn't entirely in vain. Goofy completed some entry procedures in advance, met future leaders and colleagues, and gained insight into the working environment (although there weren't many opportunities in this line of work).

After running around for a while, it was already the early morning of the second day when Goofy returned home. At this point, he was physically and mentally exhausted. Upon entering the door, he collapsed on the sofa and fell asleep.

Five hours later, Goofy was awakened by the continuous adoration points popping up in the background system. Confused, Goofy called up the attribute panel and saw that the information data in the background almost crashed the system.

With more and more worship points accumulating, Goofy felt dizzy.

"What's the situation?" Rubbing his sleepy eyes, Goofy got up and checked online. As expected, reports of the Old Taylor case had spread across several portals.

Old Taylor had a sensitive identity as a well-known racist in the Brooklyn neighborhood. With the increase in the number of Migrants in New York, Old Taylor had publicly expressed his rejection of the Asians, believing they had seized many social resources. In the discrimination movement, Old Taylor even led attacks against many citizens.

Old Taylor had made countless enemies in these communities in Brooklyn. This time, Goofy first heroically captured Sean, the gangster who robbed the supermarket, and then confronted the racist Old Taylor who came to retaliate. Finally, he forced Old Taylor to take a gun and was shot dead on the spot by the NYPD—this series of operations was hearty and vivid.

Several journalists from the portal network reported in detail for the first time and made public the cause and effect of the Old Taylor incident. During this time, New York happened to be promoting the anti-discrimination movement, and media executives made a wise choice to contribute to the fermentation of the incident.

So Goofy was widely reported in the image of "Light," and he was worshipped by the Asians in New York.

"I'm going... isn't it?" Seeing the report on the webpage, Goofy's mentality exploded on the spot. Judging from the current growth rate of Admiration value, he would upgrade again soon.

Before he could come up with a countermeasure, the noisy conversation outside the apartment scared him into a cold sweat again.

"Goofy should be living here."

"It is said that the crime took place downstairs from Goofy's house. He must live in this apartment building."

"Let's ask; there shouldn't be many Asians in this area; it's easy to find."

Goofy looked at the frenzy outside the window and saw reporters surrounded by reporters downstairs. Their purpose was very clear; they were obviously here for follow-up interviews and reports.

"You People! Can't you let me go?" With his adoration value exploding, if he is interviewed by reporters and continues to consolidate his popularity, his rank will double in a few days! At that time, with all attributes so strong, how could he stay silent?

"No, I have to keep a low profile." Goofy immediately decided to disguise himself and escape to avoid this wave of interviews.

Unexpectedly, at this moment, a familiar voice suddenly came from downstairs.

"Are you here to interview Goofy, fellow reporters? He's upstairs; don't worry, I'll make sure he accepts your interview. But before that, I think you should interview me first. Excellent, Uncle Frank!"
