Chapter 30: 30. Commencement

Monday came and the approved documents were in. So now Yun Lui could start with his business. With these documents though temporary, he could go ahead with the branding and packaging.

Yun Lui branded the products as 'Chis Spices'. It's label had a simple picture of three people, one each of the three sexes, cooking together. Meaning, everyone can cook with it, be it a Woman, Man or May. This was Yun Lui's own idea.

The products were in five different sizes.

There was from a 100g(0.1kg), 500g(0.5kg), 1000g(1kg) to 5000g(5kg).

Since Yun Lui still had a week more to deliver Papa Jin's goods, he decided to put his aside his and served the locals that had given him their orders prior.

The various quantities of pre-orders were packed and delivered to respective recipients. Some were the traders, including Papa Gu, some were Inn owners and some have their own food joints and restaurants.

Yun Lui had already informed Mama Jin that his husband's orders were ready. The next day, he found Papa Jin at their house, he was there for his goods.

He had given Yun Lui an extra week for delivery once the papers were in, in order to not give him much pressure. But since the goods were now ready, why should he wait for the five days left?

Papa Jin had brought his wagon and his workers got to work once Yun Lui showed them where Papa Jin's orders were stored.

Papa Jin and Yun Lui were seated at a table on the porch while his boys packed the goods into the wagon. He took the time to check the products out.

He was very happy. From the packaging to the brand's name were impressive. What imterested him the most was the image of the three people. He was indeed, satisfied.

Yun Lui gave him a small packed spices for his wife. He added an extra one to be given to the sister-in-law who was the catalyst in all this. He also gave three 1000g(1kg) of spice of their choosing, to the three boys who packed all of the goods into the wagon.

Papa Jin and his boys left afterwards.

With him having sorted anyone out now, Yun Lui wanted to relax. Since the other half of the first batch was still there, he could take his time.

'It's not like Papa Jin will be coming back now. And since this was a new product, the market will be slow.', Yun Lui thought.

Oh, how he couldn't be so wrong.

In The Evening of The Next Day ...

"Lulu, Papa Gu says to tell you that he needs to see you as soon as possible, preferably by early tomorrow morning. I went there to buy the oil you asked for and he gave me this message.", Muchen relayed Papa Gu's message.

"Why? Do you think he's going to complain that the products are not selling well? But it's been only two days since I delivered theirs, shouldn't they be patient?", Yun Lui was very worried and all of a sudden low in spirit.

"Stop with your speculations and just go see him in the morning. I think it is too early for him to give you any negative report. He's being in business for a very long time. He knows that it takes a while for a new product to thrive.

And from my experience from helping brother at the guild, he would have seem angry if what he had to tell you was bad when he was talking to me.

Rather he seemed excited and impatient. So I personally believe that he's calling you for a positive something.

"Good morning, Papa Gu."

"Good morning. Yun Lui, I believe you're here because of the message I gave to your husband?"

"Yes. But he's not my husband. He's my brother, Papa Gu. Stop saying that, you've made Mama Yue to also call him my husband.", Yun Lui pouted.

"I don't care. Now, take this sheet. How long would it take you to make the quantities on it?"

"A day"

"That fast? How possible?"

"It's because I already have them in inventory."

"Oh okay. That's smart of you to have produce much more than were ordered."

"It's my father. He suggested."

"Okay. You seem to have smart people supporting you. If you say tomorrow then I'll be waiting."

"Okay. Is this all?"

"Why? You want me to add more to it?"

"Oh Papa Gu. I'll not mind. See you tomorrow."

"I don't want to see you, bring only my goods to me.", Mama Gu shouted after Yun Lui playfully.

The Same Morning...

Yun Lui decided to pass through the market and see the other customers on his way back home.

"Yun Lui, why didn't you come here since you brought the products?"

"I thought I had to give more time since it's a new product, Mama Yue."

"Okay. I get what you mean. Now come, here's my list, I need these as soon as possible. Now my other two friends in their stores over there are also looking to do business with. Make sure you do not let anyone cross me."

"I'll deliver them by tomorrow."

"Oh really? Nice. I like how you're starting this. Keep it that way, okay? Now go to those two"

It was late in the afternoon by the time he was done with the customers. The new ones who joined were ten times more than the first number of customers.

Those who had patronised the goods had also increased the orders by five to ten times their previous orders. Yun Lui was not ready for this now.

The only silver lining here was his father's plan earlier. Papa Jin's orders were very large so when he prodece double of the total orders, the remaining half was still too large.

He had thought that these will be enough to serve the locals here for a couple of months should the products succeed, he was so sure that the only time that he would have to produce again, will be when Papa Jin orders again.
