Chapter 9: Meeting with the Father 3

Sigh!

My shoulder dropped low as I slowly leaned my back to the wheelchair.

With a downcast expression, I gazed at the table below.

My acting was superb and smooth, even if those actors who won the Oscar award were slightly below me.

In fact, these emotions were so real to the point it was becoming difficult for me to breathe.

How I wish to harden my heart and become emotionless again, but I have to behave like Luke would, especially in front of his Father.

I spent many times shadowboxing, or whatever you called it, while trying to match my actions to Luke's from what this body's memory served me.

And everything went according to plan…

I sneered internally.

"But don't worry." Regulus tried to save the gloomy atmosphere as it was also affecting him. "I will accompany you in receiving your blessings to the Churches today."

Hearing his decision, my eyes went wide.

Thankfully, even though lowering my head might have concealed my expression, he only noticed and considered my widened eyes as a reaction to shocking news…

And it was indeed shocking.

He only believed he surprised me, resulting in me being excited, but I'm feeling the opposite.

After all, his accompanying me to the Church might not be a good sign.

Who knows? My plan would just fail because of this.

'Wait!'

It was then that the plot of the story was injected into my mind.

It was so sudden, but I managed to compose myself as I slowly organized them.

This First Rate Villain accidentally showed his prowess… He successfully received the blessings of the God of War.

And If I'm not wrong, this should be the day he received it.

I couldn't be wrong.

The Calendar already supported my claim.

Hence, his Father shouldn't have wasted his plan, right?

Calming my state of mind while trying to maintain the emotion produced by the Deceptive trait, I replied with a shivering voice, "Really?"

"Yes." Regulus nodded with an affirmative reply.

He was in glee to observe that the gloomy atmosphere was no more.

"Oh, right!" Regulus' eyes widened and soon sparkled in excitement.

He suddenly raised his hand and opened it as though he was trying to grab something.

Staring at it, I'm quite thrilled by what he attempted after knowing about it.

After all, his gesture was so similar to Thor.

Swoosh!

A massive object suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and a gush of wind soon followed, startling me awake.

I know that massive object, despite it being kind of blurry, as it was still flying towards the hand of Regulus.

Although Regulus didn't have much screen time in the novel, due to his status in the Empire, it was inevitable that the author designed him, even if just an extra.

The most well-known trait about him aside from being a warlock is… being the owner of a Tier-1 weapon called Apollo's hammer.

Of course, you might be confused as to when the hell did Apollo own a hammer.

Well, don't ask me. I'm not the one who designed it.

Nonetheless, I interpreted why it is called the Apollo's hammer due to two reasons.

One is that it is a Tier 1 grade weapon that possesses a spirit and is only the second to the highest grade weapon out there, with Tier 0 being the peak.

Furthermore, it wasn't named after Regulus but the spirit itself, introduced as a weapon that had been used by Apollo before he became a true God.

From what I recalled – though it's kind of strange that I could remember what really happened in the novel despite it being 2 million words – the hammer had chosen Regulus as it deemed him worthy.

And indeed. With the help of the hammer, Regulus soars into the ranks, proudly obtaining a high position in the Royal Navy as an Admiral, surpassing even the Archmages who were in the same rank as him.

It wasn't even an exaggeration to claim that Regulus was one of the strongest in his realm.

Sadly, in the later part of the novel, he is jailed due to his stupid son.

Of course, that would happen for a long, long time.

I don't want to dwell much about it or even plan on what actions I should take as I'm still confused about this current state.

I'm still adapting even though I already accepted my circumstances.

Many things will still happen in the future, so all I can do is be prepared.

And I have to avoid creating a butterfly effect, or I will lose my trump card.

Just thinking about it, especially about me being so cautious, couldn't help but laugh internally.

However, I was soon snapped awake from overthinking when the hammer had finally landed on Regulus' hand and stared at me as those imperial scarlet eyes of his snatched my attention.

"I finally received the invitations from the Royal Academy." Regulus smiled, and his eyes gleamed with excitement.

His hammer is not in a rectangular shape, but with one side being triangular and the other in a box shape.

The current size of the hammer was only two times his head, but I knew that it could enlarge up to more than ten times!

Strangely though, the color was not red. It mostly contained eighty percent white and twenty percent red.

Nonetheless, the appearance was so beautiful and striking.

Suddenly, the point part of the hammer moved and motioned like a mouth opening wide.

I was dumbfounded.

It was unexpected, after all.

And then, a tongue-like object came out of the hammer, and I could even see saliva spitting out.

As if it was choking from the noise it made, attempting to vomit the object in its throat, an object spat out as it landed on Regulus' other hand.

The saliva, covering the entire object, soon emitted smoke after Regulus released a tiny bit of his power, and the entire object was revealed in a neat manner.

It just showed how durable the object was, despite it appearing like paper.

There was a seal visible in the middle, and just by its looks, I already knew it was a letter from the Empire.

"Look!" Regulus was so excited that he couldn't help but act like a child.

A man his age behaving like that is really unsightly, but I'm so careless about it.

After all, his following words interest me.

"I received two invitations. Since you can't be the student there, I decided to pass this on to your brothers."

Ah, he was expecting me to be excited that my brothers could finally expose themselves in a noble place, gaining reputations for the sake of my - this family, huh?

Well, I'm not, and they are not my brother!

They are my cousins!
