Chapter 6: Shameless Bully

Vincent brought out his smart phone and began to record them as they bullied the skinny boy. One of them took the parcel of chips he bought in the store and poured it on the poor boy's head.

The other kicked his leg, it looked like they were requesting something from him but the poor middle schooler just stayed there, shaking.

Vincent continued to record them but he was beginning to feel very disgusted.

'What is this? Do people actually wake up one day and decide to be bullies? A bunch of kid for that matter?'

It was like he could almost feel the disgusted feeling that Blu felt. It was annoying, irritating and very very unjust. These guys were a bunch of kids who should be focused on making good grades and impressing their parents.

Why would they corner a vulnerable kid and impose on the little guy? Feeling the last shred of his shame seep away, Vincent stopped the video and slipped his phone into his pocket.

"Hey!"

He walked out of the corner he was hiding and towards the center of the playground where the kids were. They all turned to him with a glare.

'Would you look at this naughty brats'

"What are you guys doing here? Why are you not in school?"

The middle schooler with blonde hair, he almost looked foreign but was chubby and with monolid eyes. He scowled at Vincent and responded.

"What's your business, jobless bro. Why don't you just go ahead and mind your business."

Vincent felt his heart shatter. The tone of the middle schooler said all he needed to know. These ones were irredeemable.

'But how? How? Why?... or is this just how ruined the world is getting?'

Vincent could not understand. His resolve to restructure the world with his own hands only got stronger at this point. Before it was a pipe dream to him but now he had a variable, Vincent wore a slight frown on his face and looked at the three of them.

One was very fat, his fatness made the other two look less fat but they also were chubby before his eyes. Then he looked at the bullied boy. The middle schooler lowered his gaze and kept a humble shoulder.

Vincent knew better than anyone that beating these kids and sending them away won't cut it. If anything, he would just end up causing more trouble for the guy. The bullying would get intense and the boy might not be able to take it anymore.

He didn't want another person making a stupid decision such as the one he made.

But he also didn't want the boy to continue to suffer.

He sighed and looked at the blonde boy.

"You are quite rude, aren't you? Ya parents didn't teach you at home?" He growled, thickening his voice to seem more intimidating. But his attempt at it was just lame.

"Look at the poor man. He thinks forming thug voice will get to us. Do you even know who I am? Do you know who my father is?!"

The boy raised his head. Even though Vincent knew better than anyone that he was short, he was glad that for once he was taller.

He felt his patient wearing thin. Right now, all he wanted to do was grab the boy and smack him.

Slap!

Vincent's eyes widened. He fakingly gasp, hands covering his face.

"Ops, my hand just moved on its own. What is this?"

The blond boy's cheek was reddened and his head swung sideways. He slowly turned to Vincent with an even deeper scowl on his face.

"You should learn how to talk to your elders."

Vincent spoke sternly. And brought out his phone.

"All you were doing a minute ago, I know it. All I just need to do is post this on social media and write a caption to destroy your parent's images. I'm sure your dads won't go easy with you when they discover their sons have been going around tarnishing their images."

Immediately, the scowl on their face disappeared and was replaced by slight fear, even though they tried hard to act like they were not freaked.

"Oh, you think I'm lying…Touch him one more time and let's find out if I'm lying, you sacks of watery nuts!"

Vincent sneered at them, raising his hands like he would smack one more time.

"Let's just leave Jasper. This bro is lame."

'Yea sure, thanks for the reminder.'

The blond boy hissed, "don't think you are just going to walk away from this. My brother is a high schooler and he goes to Mereung. I will report this to him!"

"Yea… Scram! I don't care about all that!"

Jasper glared at him angrily, they were too dangerous eyes of a teenager, and made Vincent wonder…

'What exactly is it with this guys… that look was annoyingly pestering.'

The young boys grumpingly turned and were walking away but suddenly Jasper's face got dark as he looked down.

[You are on the verge of failure the quest]

[The instruction was to beat them up]

[Steel yourself for the coming punishment]

Turned out he was wrong after all. He should have really just beat those guys up.

'No…no…no…no I can't go through that pain again!'

Now he has no choice anymore. Vincent frowned and gripped his chest tightly. This was such an uncomely thing to do, they were already retreating.

Even during war, isn't attacking a retreating enemy is considered injustice. How could he who wants to make justice reign in the world walk in injustice at just seventeen years old?

'Fuck you for making me compromise myself! Frustration!'

Vincent cursed internally and ran forward. Shutting his eyes painfully as he crossed the boys and smacked one down from the back of his head.

"What the hell?!"

Jasper screamed as he saw his fat comrade bend in pain, crying after getting slapped behind his head.

Vincent lowered his hoodie, covering his eyes.

"What? You were freely beating the crap out of that boy just now. Don't you think it's unfair to make you leave like that?"

He aimed a low kick at Jasper just as he had observed the blond boy do in the video he was recording.

Jasper lost balance and almost fell, he furled and held his leg in pain, groaning with a deep scowl.

He shot up immediately, along with his fat friend, they doubled on Vincent. Both of them launched at Vincent, their kicks lacked precision, more resembling flailing limbs than calculated strikes.

But they still awkwardly landed on Vincent regardless. Which shouldn't be but the high schooler himself knew nothing about kicks and punches to begin with… if he did, he wouldn't be getting bullied like this.

He quickly found himself locked in a tangle of arms and legs before all too much for his eyes to separate and follow, he was clumsy and slow on top of it.

Jasper swung wildly, his movements resembling a windmill in a hurricane. Vincent, attempting to dodge, stumbled over his own feet, narrowly avoiding a collision with the ground.

It was a disturbing sight that would have left onlookers very perplexed and irritated.

In an attempt to retaliate, Vincent threw an awkward punch, aiming vaguely in the direction of Jasper's face. To his surprise, it connected. The blond's face folded into his fist and flew off, sprinkling blood into the air as it arched back.

Vincent's triumph was short-lived as the fat companion lunged at him, the force of his awkward charge almost toppling them both. But Vincent quickly regained his footing and connected his fist luckily into the fatty's stomach.

The other one he had smacked down earlier came running, announcing his presence. But Vincent was getting a better hang of this, he caught the boy by the shoulders and gave him a knee kick, making him arch away from him and stumble back.

Jasper stubbornly darted at him again. He at least was more skilled than the other two fatties. He connected an uppercut to Vincent's chin. Vincent stumbled back, feeling a jolt of shock running through his head.

Angry as he looked back at the blond boy, he shot forward with a wild vigor, grappled the boy and fell to the floor, pinned him down and rained some punches on him.

The two fatties who were his companions stared with so much fear and horror that they ran away as Vincent turned his face to them.

He stood away from Jasper who now had a bloodied face. He hated this. But why…

'...why does it feel so damn good!'

He stared at the splash of crimson that was on his fist and at Jasper who was fearfully scrambling away from him. The poor boy stood up a second later, crying outrageously and shouting as he ran away.

"Stupid, you shouldn't be proud because you took down a bunch of middle schoolers. There's nothing interesting about this."

He was in pain that he had to stoop so low. But nothing could erase the good feeling he had in his chest.

[You have completed the quest]

[You have gained +1 normal card]

[You have gained +1 rare card]

[You have gained +1 unique card for obedience. The vile existence is so irritated by your fight that he might puke but this is a start.]

'Damn you vile existence…'

"Thank you sir…"

Vincent turned to the shaky teenager behind him. He didn't even know when the poor guy had walked to his back.

Vincent shook his head.

"No… I didn't do it for you. It was just to make me feel better. What's your name?"

"M—Marco..." He stuttered.

"Alright Marco. Don't go thinking about something like committing suicide or so. I know being bullied can be a hope thing but don't stay mute about it."

Marco lowered his head.

"No one listens."

Vincent's brow drew together, pitying the boy for a moment. But he pitied himself more… it wasn't like he was any better. In fact, he felt even more pathetic, acting like a hotshot to a bunch of middle schoolers. Like pick on someone of your own size bro…

He shook all thoughts away from his head.

"I'll listen. Wanna have my hotline?"

Marco's eyes lit up.

"Yes big bro!"

"Ha ha! Big bro… let's ease up on that now, shall we?" He uttered with a shy chuckle.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Young Marco apologized bowing ninety degrees.

Vincent laughed at the young lad's awkward behavior, he was full of timidity and as they walked away together, he couldn't even almost say a word without apologizing for it.
