Chapter 2: Boss Xu
Amelie parked the car at the supermarket parking and made her way toward the pharmacy. Disappointed by the restrictions she left towards the hotel.
"Hello. Would you like a room?" A pretty hotel staff looked at Amelia with a bit of doubt. This is because Amelia seems too young to book a hotel. The lady must be asking where are her parents?
"Hi, Miss Qin Lin, I need a suite but make it spacious." Amelia smiled and spoke formally with her. The lady realized she might have been rude to look at a paying customer with such prying eyes.
"That will be 18000$ a night." Miss Qin said with a professional smile on her face.
Amelia paid for three days and took the card for the hotel suite. She gave a shallow smile and went towards the elevator.
After entering, she found a group of people inside. Having lived for a long time amongst cultivators, she can feel the bloodthirsty auras from these people. They are killers, all of them if they don't clean themselves soon, they will become unlucky.
This observation is done in a single glance, she didn't show any reaction on her face nor did she show any interest in these people. Waiting for them to exit the lift. After they made it out, she lifted her eyes and came face to face with a pair of cold black eyes.
After all that she had been through in the old world, her own eyes are not expressive unless she wants to. As a result, four pair of eyes clashed and a silent battle of will commenced.
However, her eyes soon trailed his form and stopped at the side of his shoulder where they burned with an intensity that caught the man by a surprise. No one knows better than him what's there, a wound infested with poison.
Seeing his frown at her intense stare, she retracted her eyes just as the elevator closed and went to her own floor. The incident passed by and both parties didn't pay much attention to it.
Entering her suite, she is greeted by a spacious living room with comfortable couches, a side table with four chairs.
She looked around and went to the bedrooms to checked if she is the only one inside. Had she still had her cultivation, she would have used her spiritual force to check instead of doing it manually.
The irony is not lost on her. The female lead will be able to do it after tonight while she will have to remain a weakling instead just because she is cursed with a physic that is 'special' she has to suffer.
After checking, she resumed to take out all that is not immediately usable like the rest of the blankets and the sanitary items pilling them inside one of the three bedrooms before locking it shut.
She has decided to put the medical herbs instead in her space for now until she is satisfied with the level of strength she had. Her family will take about a month before they make their way to the base that has not been constructed as of yet.
The Liang family is not a large family but by that time, their relatives from the village where the Liang wife came from would be home to take shelter. Because of this, the size of the family will be larger than now.
The female protagonist had secretly brought back the family from the rural areas to be closer so she can go and get them when things start.
She is determined to make her mother who died miserably in her first life live a happy life even as most of the extended family are not her favourite people. Especially that annoying pair of twins. They are boys but they are coquettish and sticky.
After setting up the place, she resumed her clearance of the body impurities. This is not a cut throat process. She first takes the medical bath, rest for a while and then drinks the potion for internal cleaning.
She will then go through several times more of the pain from the bath. It will end when she pukes out the pungent smelling impurities from her stomach. There is one word to describe the entire process. Brutal.
In the morning she is not even in the mood to eat food from the hotel and just took a fasting pill she had made from the Villa last time.
Amelia got out of the suite with keys to the Jeep parked downstairs. She drove to the medical herb market and waited in her car for a few minutes. She then saw people dropping to the ground one by one, she knew it is her time to move.
Getting out of the car she had parked in a concealed location, she ran towards the largest traditional medical herbs store. Inside the store many people are lying on the ground while a few who are awake like her, are confused. She didn't bother with them.
At a glance, she calculated about 30 people walking around in confusion, some tried to call the police while others cried because the people who fell unconscious are related to them.
A man who seemed to have been through a tuff life kept looking at a pretty girl on the floor. The girl must have fell unconscious suddenly and there was no time to pay attention to her modesty. Her skirt is raised and the man can clearly see her cute pink underwear.
Amy thinks this man is a foolish virgin to be paying attention to such things when the situation is clearly urgent.
The girl will turn into a zombie anyways. Amy can see her entire body shrouded in devil energy. Others are covered by colorful energies, these should be the supernatural powers.
She had seen that the supernatural powers are spirit energies but instead of traveling all over the body, it stays in the head in a crystal nuclei.
While the process of cultivation will allow the user to make talisman, alchemy and other spells for combat prowess.
The nuclei is only used to release the power of the supernatural type,at least that what is currently known in the novel.
Some people had been able to get creative with the application but not many succeeded.
Since the difference is clear, Amy is relieved to increase her strength this way until she gets rid of her Maidenhead.
Opening the storage warehouse, they pack all the fresh ingredients inside. She will sort it out when she gets time, in the present she needs to hurry before the zombies wake up.
Her space had become half a football field after the last body refinement. She is able to place many items inside without problems. She doesn't know that a normal person would have long since past out from exhaustion for using the supernatural powers all this time.
She focuses on the ingredients for refinement of the blood, strengthen the bones and clean the system. She can at least move up a level when the world gets flooded by qi at mid night.
Her sister had always been a supernatural power with water in the novel. But after tonight her power will mutate because she had bathed in the spring water several times already.
Her water will become holy water that can cure zombie virus when a person has been infected for less than a day.
This is something only powerful plant type ability users had been able to do in her previous life. She even kills her cousin to cover up this secret. The female lead of a reborn genre is blood thirsty indeed.
These thoughts go through her mind as she sweeps the storage room of all the ingredients she will need in a life time even if she gets 300 followers and use it on them as well.
When she is done with the simple looking storage she wanted to look for the place where they hide the good stuff.
Amy looked for the most luxuriously decorated office. As she approached, she heard voices inside.
"My boss is willing to pay three times the market price for the herb Mr Xu, what do you say?" One man said. His voice neither humble nor arrogant.
"I have said it before, I can't help your employer. The ginseng is specifically ordered by the Qin young master. Do you wish for my death to make me go back on an agreement with him?" Xu Han felt unlucky. Who are these people trying to get him killed by coveting something that belongs to the crazy Qin young master?
Before the other man spoke, Amy got inside and looked at the boss of the store. He is a man probably 27 of age. He must have been living a good life since he has gained some weight and his cheeks are slightly chubby.
The two men kept silent seeing her enter. The man opposite the boss is silently assessing her as if to ensure she isn't a threat. Amy walked in showing an innocent smile.
Her face is clean and shaped like a small heart, the bright blue eyes blinked cutely at the boss. "Mr Xu, I have an actual proposition for you. I wonder if you can let me speak?" She asked lightly.
She completely ignored the other man. The man she spoke to opened his mouth and the first thing he said irritated her to no end.
"Is this a place where you can enter leisurely young lady? Leave quickly you are disturbing a meeting. Don't you have any sense at all?" The boss is obviously angered by this little girl who barged into his office unannounced.
He spoke before he took a good lol at her. Seeing her exquisite face, those deep blue eye made him pause for a moment.
"I can assure you that I mean business as well, and I have important information. Are you willing to listen or not?" Her tone even, giving people a sense of tranquility as if she already has that which she seeks.
The other man has not said a single word ever since she came in. The boss regarded her for a moment and then answered her with a question. "What do you want?"
"All the herbs in that safe." She pointed behind the boss. The man widened his eyes. That safe is only known by the family members only and they wouldn't disclose it location to a stranger. Just who is this girl?
"All of it? Don't you think your appetite is a little too big?" The man behind her spoke for the first time.
"Fine, all the ones you can't carry with you when you leave today." She pointed and made a generous gesture.
"Why would I need to carry them out?" The man from the Xu family felt this little girl is funny.
"Because after leaving here today, you might never come back here in your life time." The tone is still the same. The words are cold however, making people feel they are being threatened.
"Are you threatening me little girl?" The man stood up in anger but his years of training didn't allow him to do more.
"No, the world is shrouded in devil energy and most living things are mutating. Soon, monsters will run rampant and you will not be able to run the store ever again." She said in a nonchalant tone.
She opened the curtain where there is a large one way glass window the boss uses to spy on the employees from the other side.
The two men saw many people on the floor. At this time most people have left to their homes so they can check on their loved ones.
The store is deserted unless counting the unconscious people. "What did you do?" They both looked at her in obvious suspicion.
"This is happening all over the world. Did I do that too? All those unconscious are mutating and will either become a monster or a hero. Now, I have given you enough information to realize what this means. Open the safe for me." Still in an even tone.
"If what you say is true, than the business will no longer exists in the future. But why should I do what you say?" The boss asked.
She pointed at the man she hasn't spoken to, since entry. "Because he will torture you to open it anyways. There is no law and order anymore, only the living and the dead. Which one do you want to be Mr Xu?" She asked sweetly. Seeing her like this, the boss feels like that smile is very scary. He looked at the man opposite him.
The man took off his jacket and a knife sheath and a gun are each placed on both sides respectively making the boss swallow. He is reluctant though, this medicine is very expensive. The young master of the Qin family has already paid for it. If he loses it, who will compensate the young master?
He opened the news and saw this incident is really happening all over the world. Pressed for a decision he looked at the man again.
"Don't worry about the money. It is not an issue." The man said looking at the boss's tangled expression. He then started folding the sleeves of his long black shirt. The boss started to sweat profusely seeing this.
"Alright. But I need protection from the monsters she spoke of. Can you guarantee my safety?" The boss asked the man who nodded.
"I will take you home after dropping the medicine for my boss." The man said.
The boss opened the safe. "You both choose first and whatever remains is mine." Amy said generously. She is not looking for something specific anyways.
The safe is half the size of the normal room. There are many herbs inside. Most of them are mutating at the moment. The safe didn't prevent the energy from getting inside, just as Amy could see the spirit energy from the herbs in the safe while it was closed.
The man took the ginseng, paid the boss then left with him to protect him. Amy stayed behind and with her vines, she swept all the contents of the safe into her space filling it up.
She felt slightly assured looking at the items in her space. She went to the gas station and stole four oil and diesel trucks into her space. This endeavor made her pass out in the car after the parked in hastily on the side of the road.
She had to remove the drivers from the inside of two of the trucks and places them in a relatively safe place. She couldn't even go inside the space because she overused her mental power. When she tried it felt as though her head is splitting into many parts.
She woke up a few minutes later because of the glaring light in her eyes. She hopes to increase her mental strength. This thought made her remember a type of fruit that can help her.
She can not access it for the time being. She drove to her place while occasionally massaging the forehead because of the headache.
When she got back to the hotel, the scene is very interesting. The people who work in the hotel are passed out while those whose partners are also passed out came down to complain about it but no one can help.
