Chapter 46: Healer

"Hi, I..." He is rudely interrupted by her.

"If you force me to release my natural scent again. I will pluck out your pretty eyes and eat them off my fingers like olives." She waved her fingers in front of her face as if she can see the purple eyes on them. Blake looked at her with a blank expression. What natural scent?

He wanted to ask but saw her embarrassed expression and realized if he brought it up she might explode in anger. Having lived for a long time, Blake chose to wisely retreat to advance.

"Alright." He readily agreed but he shouldn't have, because he has no recollection of asking for her scent which means it was beyond his control but...

Hearing his majestic voice Amelia felt a tingle somewhere and she shivered. Gods...that voice. This man is a disaster indeed. She decided to ignore this and took a pen and a paper she sat down and motioned for him to also take a seat.

"Now, I am going to ask questions and you will answer honestly." She looked at him trying to hide her excitement over whatever poisoned him. She wish she could get started.

Blake sat down on a two seater taking more than half of the couch space. "What is your name?"

"Blake Simone." He doesn't know what she wants but he can smell it now, the longer he is around her the more he can smell that scent that seems to soothe his pain. He wants to get closer and inhale deeply.

"What poisoned you?"

"The Nadel." He answered looking to see if she will recognize it. But he is disappointed to see no recognition from her.

"Explain."

"It is concocted by high level alchemists in my home. They make it to sell them to the highest bidder. This substance is illegal but when there's a demand they'll definitely be a market. Those who buy it are looking to perform an execution.

"So, someone with a lot of money wanted you dead?" Amelia asked. The two of them have been talking and studying each other at the same time. Blake concluded that she is a child while Amelia felt he is dangerous.

"Not just money, Nadel is a banned substance in my home. Only power can allow one to get it." He answered honestly and saw her write down on that paper.

"Do you know an antidote?"

"No. There is no known antidote for this poison."

"Has anyone tried to remove the infected part?"

"Yeah. It didn't help, it only gave the patient a few more days before death eventually claimed him."

"So if this is the case, then why are you here?"

"Your music. It made me feel better when I heard it." He said with a reminiscent tone.

"So you seek temporary relief but you know you're dying?"

"Yes." He answered with no fluctuations in his voice. Cool...

"How will you pay me?" Amelia asked seriously.

"I have no money."

"So you want me to help you for free? A large man like you wants to bully a small woman like me?"

"I.. can work."

"With one arm?" She asked with a raised an eyebrow.

"My one arm has more strength than you have in your four limbs."

"What can you do?"

"Drive..." Spaceships and lead armies. The rest of the sentence he said in his heart.

"I am a warlord. A renowned strategist who hasn't lost a battle, wait I have lost some but not many."

This place doesn't seem to have spaceships and space pilots. It's best he keeps silence about it lest he becomes an alien invader. Someone has already took his spaceship.

Amelia listened to his boasting. "I could use a warlord but..." She seemed hesitant.

"I can be your bodyguard. I need to be closer to you at all times anyways otherwise the poison will flare up and I will lose my mind."

"Alright. A bodyguard then." He said looking confident. She is so weak, he can guard and keep her safe, at the same time he will be closer to her.

"Are you a man of honor? Will you keep your words after giving them?" She doesn't want to be conned but she also doesn't have the capacity to make him sign a blood contract since he has a high mental power than her. For the first time she has to hope the other party will keep his word.

"I will be your bodyguard for as long as I live." He said thinking he will probably not live for too long anyways.

Amelia raised an eyebrow in surprise. "What if I completely removed the poison? Wouldn't you want to go back and get revenge on your rich powerful cousin?"

"It's useless. I always knew it was coming and rather than bother with them. I wouldn't mind taking a permanent vacation by playing bodyguard." He said with an almost relaxed tone. It's seems he has no one to go back for...he is alone just like her.

Amelia hadn't even paid attention to her loneliness until she felt wronged a while back. Having no one to cry to and to seek comfort from made her resent her orphan status even more but this is also a source of strength.

Look at our resident heroine, because of her family ties she had to lower her head and let people trample on her all while greeting her teeth fantasizing about a distant revenge. A revenge Amelia came along and pissed all over.

"Well then, I will try to cure you, will in return you will become responsible for my safety. Are we in agreement?" Amelia stood up extending her small hand towards him. Blake shook her hand.

Amelia felt the larger hand envelops her smaller one and she looked on in wonder at the difference between the two of them.

"Why are your eyes purple? Were you born like this or it's because of the poison?" When they finished shaking hands Amelia pulled him towards Jack Jack's room.

Taking out a hospital bed from her space she put a sheet on top of it and waved him over. "I was born with in, its part of the reason they tried to kill me." He stood in front of the bed with some confusion. To be honest, he can't understand what she wants to do? Even a medical pot can't cure him what can a plain hospital bed do?

"Oh?" Amelia looked surprised. "Take off the top and lay down." She saw him hesitate. "What can I do? A big man is scared of a flat bed. Hurry up I'm hungry."

He took off the top and a sculpted body came to view. Amelia's eyes lit up. Such a beautiful body. No wonder he can try to use it to smash through a city wall. Good guy. He needs to train her. Her muscles are good looking too but damnit...

"I am tempted to ask you to take off the pants too. Such a pretty body. Ah...you must train me later...how can I be outdone by my own bodyguard?" She shook her head.

"Don't drool." Blake became speechless. Are young people this brazen even in person now? He thought they would dare to speak so openly only on the web.

"I wouldn't dare waste my drool, this young lady's drool can cure a normal person's common cold." Amelia rolled her eyes. She played with her fingers in anticipation.

"Now, bring me your body to examine. Hehehe." She sounds like a perverted nurse. Blake saw that she is just fooling around and laid down. He had only become comfortable when the metal legs gave in and the bed fell to the ground directly.

Blake only just grunted but make no move to get up. He even closed his eyes as if he fell asleep. Amelia thought this man is interesting, was he raised by gorillas in the mountains and his body tried to become like them? She tilted her head and watched the light brown skin with a shiny luster as if asking to be caressed gently.

She shook her head and took out the golden needles from her space and used her spiritual force to guide each to an acupoint only for each needle to fall. She looked and remembered that even she will not be pierced if she didn't allow herself to be. She had to use her spirit force at this point which very annoying.

Instead of taking half a se and to insert a needle she needed more than a minute it took more than ten minutes to insert all 42 needles and then she still had to try and guide the poison out. She tried and tried but she couldn't move it for half a step.

"Son of ***%$#" Amelia got up from her seated position and called old Mo.

"It took you long enough." Oh, she was supposed to call this man at some point.

"Do we have a person with a poison spirit root?" She asked old Mo.

"There are several, why? Did you get poisoned playing outside?"

"Bring the most powerful to my place quickly."

"You are here? Alright l will call him to come up." Mo could feel she is annoyed by something so he tried to minimize the jokes.

"You can get up now." She pulled out all the needles from his body and said to Blake who stood up nimbly as if he was not lazing around a moment ago.

Amelia went to shower and from the formal clothes she was wearing to a casual light but warm pants and a light blue polo neck. She has tied her hair in a messy bun giving her a casual outlook.

"You can use the other room it has a bathroom inside and a complete furniture, try not to break anything I'll have someone make stronger...furniture for you. Human Ape."

"I am not an uncivilized peasant who breaks everything they use. Your bed earlier was simply too weak."

"Yeah, and the city wall earlier was just in the way." Amelia went to make spirit food which is something she hadn't bothered with all this time. But now she has to make it for the patient. As an alchemist who can make spirit food, she naturally knows how to make medicinal spirit food.

It should be enough for the time being until the next plan is complete. She took out the rice from the spirit rice and even the onions she used are all spiritual food.

Just as she is about to rinse them and chop them up, she heard a door being knocked. Opening it when saw a woman of about 23 maybe younger standing there nervously.

"You must be the one with the poison spirit root. Come in."

"Hello Leader, I'm Ivy. Number 13 on the competition."

"Yes Ivy you are the one who killed 6 level 7 zombies with your deadly poison. Impressive. What level are you now?"

The woman with slightly tall building and frail structure smiled shyly. "Level 7"

"Have you used the golden fruit?" Amelia had given them a few resources as prices after the competition.

"Yes." The girl became nervous feeling like she is under scrutiny.

"I am going to give you something that will help you to absorb poison and use it to grow your own power. When you are ready and have become used to the technique I have someone I want you to help me cure of poison. Are you willing?" Amelia asked.

"I am willing. I will do my best." Amelia touched her forehead and gave her a mental fruit so she will absorb information faster and comprehend quickly.

"You have one week to comprehend and come back to me more familiar with it. This is your only assignment push everything else aside." Amelia commanded.

"Yes leader." She left headed for her residence and locked herself inside trying to understand the knowledge she was given by Amelia.

Amelia chopped the vegetables and boiled the medicine on another plate of the stove. She made spicy chicken, with garlic, and stir fry vegetables. The taste is hot and spicy while the meat is tender and juicy. The spirit food and the medical soup filed the table.

The dazzling dishes of vegetables, rice, grilled chicken and spicy stir fry. The smell made people want to swallow their tongue.

Blake comes from the place where food has lost it's charm. Talented and resourceful people have high level nutrient solutions. Those who still have to waste time cooking are the untalented and poor people who can not afford nutrient solutions.

Even the restaurants claim to have ancient recipes but the food they cook tastes like it is boiled and then served. He goes to network sometimes but he always prefers to take the nutrient solutions instead of eating the burnt charcoal they call meat.

However, smelling the aroma in the room he finds the nonexistent desire for food being rekindled and he wants to taste it. Does it tastes as good as it smells?

Amelia had clothes his size, she has clothes for new born babies. She looted entire warehouses of everything from building, decorating, clothing, cooking and everything that she could get her hands on so she just took the larger clothes and tossed them to his bed so when he is done showering he can choose whatever he wants.

"You can come sit. Most of the food is medicinal so you can heal the rotting organs while I work on a plan." She took out the apron she was wearing and sat down to eat.

She picked up chopsticks and started eating. Blake joined her with implacable manners they both ate in silence. Blake is shaken on the inside, he can feel his organs that were being attacked being restored as he ate.

Can eating also feel like this? He did his best not to show it on his face but it is shocking. Not only the taste is heavenly but the energy from the food is making his stronger and more resilient to the poison.

When they finished Amelia stood up. "I cooked, you wash the dishes." She left him looking dumbfounded. Wash the dishes? The Marshall has to wash the dishes, this day must be recorded in history.

Amelia fell asleep, the day was full of ups and down and the cooking of spirit food brought back memories she would rather forget.

Blake finished washing the dishes just as Amelia fell asleep. When she fell asleep completely, the aroma of her flesh escaped from her body and filled the entire flat. Blake finally understood why she was angry with him. Even now he is fighting the impulse to go hug her and inhale her scent deeply several times.

The Empire doesn't know that the exceptional mental power of the royal family comes with a deadly side effect. The more you use and grow it the more you will get sick and eventually die if you don't lose your mind first. The people of the royal family especially those who inherit the purple eyes will wield terrible mental power that goes against the sky at the cost of immortality.

When ability users get powerful enough they will be able to live forever but the premise is that they are strong enough to sustain their bodies. The royal curse makes them die one by one no matter how powerful they are, in fact, the more powerful, the easier it is for them to die.

Blake has had headaches since his military school days and has suffered from them ever since. But Amelia's scent is like a healing tonic that brings him back from the brink of the abyss. If the royal family find her...she will never see the light of day again.

He started pacing in the room but Amelia doesn't know about his worry at all. She is busy looting free stuff in the dream.

Blake went to rest as it has been a while since he fell asleep without being in pain. The food and the scent in the air is very helpful. He slowly fell asleep as well not realizing his first instinct was to hide the girl from his family.

Amelia woke and went to check the base. The winter is still not relenting, the new members of the base have found accommodations and work when they first registered. The nine districts have also adjusted to the winter. The glass houses are growing food well with the help of plant powered people but if will take time to get used to the taste.

The entertainment centers are also in full swing. There are ways to heat the place up so people are still able to go out and have fun. Seeing everything well, she went to talk to old Mo.

"You came. I have something to report. Take a look." Old Mo played the video of the spaceship. Amelia thought this means someone from the empire has come to scout.

"Zhu Li has been studying the spaceship and she hasn't been coming back often. I get worried for her health." He looked at Amelia with concern.

"She is an adult. You need to trust her judgment."

"I found her brother and he has been escorted to the base. He chose to live in the main base with her. Now the two of them are always working on the spaceship or other designs that boy is just as amazing as his sister. We really won it big by recruiting them." Old Mo said proudly.

"You want something. Just say it directly."

"I want a vacation."

"Then take it."

"Hehehe...for the rest of winter."

"No." Amelia teleported to the flat and found the human Ape awake seems to have just walked out of a shower. Wearing a tracksuit and a sports shoes.

"Where do I go for a run?" He asked. He doesn't think there are training facilities here. She teleported the two of them to the prison base. It is not winter here.

"Where are we?" He looked around.

"The other side of the world. It's also my base."

"Base?" Is there a need for things like that here?

"Yeah. To hide from zombies."

"Ah yes, I forgot about those."

"It makes sense, you have bigger problems. You can run around the Island, the training equipment has been enhanced by me." She also showed him the place were she stays while here.

"Leader." Du Hang called out. They haven't met the leader fir a very long time.

"How are things?" Amelia went straight to the basement of the building she live in. She wanted to know what the leaders of this place were up to.

"We had war, a plant type zombie led a group of zombies and zombie crabs to attack us. Many survived but some are crippled. What should we do with those?" The number is around 40 and they are all very strong people who were soldiers. After administering the medical solutions given to them incase of an infection, they all survived without turning into zombies.

Amelia took out about 50 silver pills and gave the managers. "This should heal them. Tell them the leader is thankful for their sacrifice." The twins looked at each other and decided not to question their master.

Left alone, Amelia took out a virtual keyboard and connected it to the lock pad on the wall. She started typing and before long a series of numbers came up and she entered them opening the large door.

Lights came up and the place in front of her became bright. Amelia frowned looking at a scene she doesn't understand. Why are these blasted things here? Does this mean her base is going to be targeted by someone for this stupid armor? How unlucky!

She went to the large screen and started trying to hack inside to see the information. She found the design of the armor and an incomplete design for a shield, a powerful shield capable of covering the world and preventing the wondering pirates from landing on earth.

Whomever designed this must have been a genius she sent it to Zhu Li and continued browsing. She found the location of several spaceships the UN had made incase of an invasion. The kicker is that they are on this Island. The idea was to unite and fight against a possible alien invading army.

This place was not just a prison it was a neutral place for the big shots to put their toys where none of them can take advantage. But the virus broke out suddenly and no one is prepared when everyone is targeted by Shane.

She has the coordinates and will find the place in time. The important thing is to improve and put up the shield. If the Empire descends and couldn't land, their position of negotiation will be lower. At that time the earth and it's resources will be larger than current.

Amelia looked at the conspicuous coordinates and decided to check it out some other time. She locked the place and went to replenish the water in the glass houses so they can continue making tasty food.

She went to cultivate afterwards. Somethings are too complex if one moves forward without first assessing to situation. The Island seems to be a strategic destination for the UN. Amelia can only hope that crazy bastard Shane kills all of them so she can benefit and keep everything without putting in any work.

Three days later, Amelia is training a group and they are trying to attack her with their weapons while defends herself. "Bai Zu you are to hasty and your breathing is messy again...try to adjust your steps Ma Li you are making too many unnecessary movements. April, your blade technique is almost perfect I'm pleased with your progress. Next group."

Blake watched as she battled and instructed 7 groups of teams all using primitive weapons on her and she defeated all of them in only a few moves. she shows no mercy on the trainees. When they fight against her it's as if they are facing a great enemy. They mostly leave the ring bleeding and wounded but they learn from their mistakes and they are healed as soon as they come out.

"You want to try?" Amelia looked at Blake with a smile.
