After that intense meal, Lucien decided to take a stroll around the village with Brigantiea and Lithira by his side. Despite the curious gazes of the villagers, he paid them no mind.
He was already tired of everyone's bullshit and Brigantiea keep sticking to him like glue, walking beside him and hugging his arm, didn't help with his weariness at all.
While Lithira kept their distance apart, making his headache worse since he didn't know why she was still like that even when he already explained everything to her.
"What's going on with her?" Brigantiea suddenly inquired, breaking the silence.
"It's more what you're doing to her," Lucien replied with a sigh, glancing at Lithira, who seemed visibly distressed. He wanted to cheer her up but he was already exhausted.
'If things keep up like this, I'd rather have no woman at all,' he thought to himself.
Brigantiea furrowed her brows, "Come here, Lithira. I know you have become outcast for the last 300 years, but I don't expect you can't even take a joke anymore." she halted her walk and grabbed her daughter's hand so she could be closer to them.
"Mother! I'm just tired and want to be alone," Lithira protested, fidgeting uncomfortably.
Unconvinced, Brigantiea turned to Lucien. "Take her hand, Lucien."

Though Lithira pouted at Lucien's response, she allowed him to hold her hand. Despite her annoyance, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of self-consciousness.
"Are you angry with me, Lucien?" Lithira suddenly asked. "Are my crying when we eat meals together making you annoyed?"
Lucien was taken aback by her question, as was Brigantiea, who shot him a glare.
"No, not at all. I'm more frustrated with your mother and my sister. You're just as much a victim as I am, so don't worry about it," Lucien reassured her, his tone softening.
He realized that Lithira was a sensitive woman who needed reassurance. He began to doubt whether it was a good idea to pursue a relationship with her.
"I see... I'm relieved to hear that," Lithira responded with a smile, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, her cheeks tinged with a blush.
The moment he looked at her smile, all of his uncertainty melted away. Lucien was always drawn to something beautiful, that's why he loved his face so much.
This might be why he is interested in Lithira, she is his ideal type of woman.
Lucien then gazed at Briagantiea. Her flawless red hair, attractive red eyes, and her alluring body were enough to make him go nuts. She was a different kind of beauty compared to Lithira.

"What kind of engineer? That man is a bit odd. We typically refer to someone with those skills as masons, because engineers usually work on the development of weapons and military equipment," Gibson tried to explain.
"He's a mason, the one in charge of constructing structures or buildings," he added.
"So he's a civil engineer! Let's go meet him, Gibson! He could be the most important person in the village, aside from me of course!" Lucien exclaimed, releasing Brigantiea's and Lithira's hands before rushing off toward where Gibson had come from.
"Wait! My Lord, don't run like that!" Gibson called out, struggling to keep up.
Meanwhile, Brigantiea and Lithira exchanged glances, their moods turning sour.
Near the dried fountain, the engineer mentioned by Gibson stood amidst a crowd of villagers who seemed to be actively avoiding him. Lucien wasted no time, sprinting toward the man with a burst of energy.
"You! You're the engineer, aren't you?" Lucien exclaimed he grabbed the man's hands in excitement.
"Yeah, I am. But who are you?" the man replied, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
"I'm the new village chief, Lucien," he replied as he shook the engineer's hand firmly.
"New chief? That's news to me. Is Gibson gone?" the man asked, his tone casual.
"No, he's fine. He stepped down, and I'm taking over," Lucien explained with a smile. "My name's Lucien."
"Apologies for my rudeness. I'm Zane. Just got back from town and it looks like I've missed a lot."
Zane replied, scanning the village, his gaze lingering on the giant wall under construction and the golems that helping to build that wall.
"Great to have you back, Zane. I hope we can work together on building this village and that massive wall," Lucien said with a confident tone, even when he was actually desperate for Zane to be part of this village.

"Sure, but I have something to tell you. On my way here, I rescued three friends who were attacked by bandits. Brought them along because they had nowhere else to go," Zane said, turning to reveal his companions.
They were someone that Lucien didn't expect to meet and he now knows the reason why Gibson and the crowd of villagers just stood far away from him.
