Chapter 8: Eighth

In a tailor shop, Shibuya, Japan.

A person who was wearing a formal suit was holding a tape measure, measuring the size of his customer.

He had a white hair and skin that appeared to have aged already.

He was the owner of the tailor shop.

In front of him, a person who had a monocle on his right eye was standing, his arms spread.

It was Amon.

On the day that he received the invitation to Darwin's Game, he went ahead outside to a tailor shop to buy himself formal attire.

All the clothes he had were only casual clothing. He wanted to make himself appear more presentable but also—this would serve as his main attire or costume when dealing with D-Game related stuff.

"Alright, Mr. Amon, making your suit attire will take some time. At best, you can come back tomorrow to receive it," the tailor shop owner said to Amon.

Amon chuckled as he handed the tailor shop owner five times the amount needed to make the attire. "Got it. Here's the payment, make an additional three attires. Thanks for the service," he happily said as he went his way outside.

He then went to a mall. Looking for a shop to buy a smartphone.

Initially, he wanted to only use the phone he currently had. But thankfully, it seemed that it was fine to use multiple gadgets for the D-Game. Even using a computer was fine.

So after an hour, he had finally bought one and immediately logged into his D-Game account. It was fairly simple, he just needed to log in using the email that was on the phone.

He then opened his email and messaged the two corrupt officers.

[Hello~ This is Amon. Regarding your peculiar invitation, I am excited to say that I am very much interested in it.]—he typed.

After several minutes, a reply came.

[I assumed that you already clicked on the link?]

[Yes, as you have guessed. Haha. By the way, I've already looked up some things and one of them was Clan Affiliation. I must say, I am very much interested in forming a connection with your affiliation. Hope to have your consideration.]

[Alright, alright. I'll relay this to my clan leader.]

[Haha. Thanks!]

Amon sent them the last message as he opened the D-Game and browsed through the online discussion website.

Clicking on the profile of someone he was finding, he clicked on the message option.

[Rain]—the name of the profile said.

Amon adjusted his monocle and smiled.

It was time for him to make at least a minimum of preparation.

In a room somewhere in Japan.

A short-haired girl was sitting on her computer. She was eating a snack as she was looking at her several monitors.

She was [Rain], a well-known information broker in Darwin's Game.

"Things have been going quietly these days," she pondered.

This was perhaps—not a good sign.

As someone who had witnessed that 'history', the situation in these past few weeks had been extremely lukewarm.

She shuddered as she recalled the past. There was this history in Darwin's Game that struck everyone in fear.

A history where several individuals popped up one after another and bonded together, creating mass destruction and havoc.

They called themselves—The Worst Generation.

"Ugh, I don't want to think about that stuff anymore," she said, diverting her attention to something else.

Just then, she received a message from someone in D-Game's discussion website.

The profile picture of the user had wavy hair and a piece of monocle on his right eye. His character also appeared to be gleefully smiling, which annoyed Rain for some reason.

She then clicked on the message and read it.

[Heyya~ Nice to meet you, this is Amon, are you still selling information right now? If you do, I would like to buy one]—it said.

[Yes, I am. What are you looking for?] she replied as she looked up at this person's information.

Aside from the name [Amon] itself, this person didn't have anything notable on him. The person even appeared as a newbie.

'Well, at least he already got a win,' Rain thought, looking at Amon's battle record

[Right, I would like information about the eighth clan. Preferably their weakness! *heart emoji* *wink emoji*]

'...What?' Rain got stunned. A newly joined player just asked her about an infamous clan's weakness.

[Come again??] Rain replied.

[I said I want informations about the eighth clan *sparkling emoji*. It's much better if it's information about their weaknesses.]

[Okay, before I sell you anything, let me remind you that the eighth clan is a dangerous clan. I don't know what you're planning about the information, but it's best that you don't get on their wrong side.]

[Well that's such a kind reminder of you, I'll remember it. Anyway, my request still stands as it is.]

"Hahh… This guy's an idiot. Who is in their right mind to directly try to antagonize them."

For Rain, the Eighth Clan was a clan she needed to be careful around because as an information broker, she was fully informed how brutal they could be.

"Well, it's not my business to meddle."

[Alright, give me an hour to compile the information. Also, that would be 40 points. Settle the payment first before I provide anything.]

[Alrighty, so 20 points yeah? I'll send it now]

[40 points]

[You'll receive 25 points any moment now, just a sec.]

[40 points]

[Did you already receive the 30 points?]

[No, I didn't receive 50 points]

The message abruptly stopped there for a moment. After a few seconds, Rain received a total of 40 points.

[Alright, I already received the payment. Please wait for a while.]

[Yeah… thanks]

On the other side, Amon, at the moment of coming to this world, was defeated for the first time.

"Jeez, what a cheapskate," Amon said, chuckling.

An exact hour had passed. After that, Amon had received a message with a document file from Rain.

[Here's the information I know.

ps. dont try to haggle online]—it said.

Below the message was the clip of the document.

[The Eighth Clan. They are a brutal clan which did numerous murders and theft.(see the references)

The members of this clan are numerous with three notable individuals to be careful of;

Wang - This is their leader who founded the Eighth Clan. He is an extremely dangerous individual with a powerful sigil(currently unknown, but presumably to be a telekinetic type).

Kamazaki Keiichi - This person is a trusted member of the clan. A very strong individual who fights using his fists. (sigil unknown, but presumably to be a telekinetic type.)

Shigu - This person is the same as the above. (sigil also currently unknown, but presumably to be a metamorphic type)

This clan is a very strong clan, solely having Shibuya as their territory. As they have numerous members, they could be anywhere.

It is also important to note that they have already succeeded in taking down other clans(see the references). They are very adept at what they are doing.

As for their weakness, their clan works solely with their leader as the center. Other than that, there are no other things at the moment.]

Amon smiled at the given information.

"At the very least, the information is at least worth the price," Amon chuckled as he adjusted his monocle.

There are only 65 points in his account.

And with that, the night came and he went to sleep.

Eighth Clan's Base.

A night had passed. Wang was dwindling on the phone that was given to him by the two officers.

They had already given Amon an address, not in their main base, where they could meet up and assess him.

"Kekek. Aight, aight. This guy already agreed on the location. Move it!" Wang commanded his members.

This should only be a normal recruitment, but Wang decided to escalate things further by bringing all his members.

But as waste of manpower as it seemed, Wang had other plans. If things got boring rather pretty easily, he planned on raiding a merchant vehicle which should have been full of illegal imported goods.

After arriving at the location, a man with a monocle appeared.

He was wearing a formal suit with a hodded trench coat, wearing black gloves and black shoes.

Holding a silver cane on his, the person smiled at them.

"Today is a lucky day. Hello to you, everyone," Amon greeted them with a smile.
