Chapter 3: Sparks of Change

Walking through the streets of Central City, the cool breeze tousled Matt's hair—or rather, my hair now. The city buzzed with life, and I marveled at the vibrant surroundings, contrasting sharply with the dark void I had left behind. It was almost surreal, being part of a world that had only existed in TV shows and fanfictions.

My thoughts were interrupted by a distant commotion. Sirens wailed, and I turned my attention toward the source of the disturbance. A swirl of red and blue lights danced in the distance. "Well, that didn't take long for something interesting to happen," I mumbled, quickening my pace to get a closer look.

As I approached, a crowd had gathered around what seemed to be a crime scene. Police officers were securing the area, and I overheard snippets of conversation about a metahuman sighting. My curiosity piqued, I edged my way through the onlookers.

There, standing in the midst of chaos, was a figure clad in a crimson suit with a golden emblem on his chest—a speedster. "Flash," I muttered under my breath, recognizing the iconic hero from the TV series. The real deal.

The Flash zipped around, effortlessly disarming criminals and saving civilians caught in the crossfire. It was a sight to behold, the sheer speed and finesse he exhibited. I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement, knowing I was in a world where such extraordinary beings existed.

Just as I was about to immerse myself in the superhero spectacle, a peculiar sensation washed over me. It was as if there was an energy in the air, resonating with something within me. "What the hell is this?" I wondered aloud.

Intrigued, I focused on the sensations within, attempting to attune myself to the energy around me. It was like tuning in to a frequency, a connection to an unseen force.

"Huh, gaining a skill just by watching the Flash in action? Not bad," I chuckled to myself.

As the Flash wrapped up his heroic deeds and disappeared in a blur, I decided to continue my exploration of Central City. The bustling streets led me to a park, where I found a quiet bench to reflect on my situation.

Leaning back, I gazed up at the sky, pondering the mysteries of this new existence. "So, I've got some soul cultivation technique, a weird system thing, and now I learn I can gain a skill just by doing repetitive actions and watching things bit just to level 0 instead of level 1. This is one hell of a ride," I mused.

With a newfound determination, I decided to delve deeper into this connection and knowledge of this new skill. Closing my eyes, I focused on the sensations around me and allowed them to envelop me. It was as if I was tapping into a reservoir of power, drawing strength from the essence of lightning.

The newfound abilities guided me, unveiling the dormant skills within my core. I experimented with the lightning manipulation, creating sparks that danced around my fingertips. "This is getting more interesting by the minute," I grinned, reveling in the discovery of my expanding capabilities.

As I continued my exploration of Central City, I stumbled upon a local library tucked away in a quiet corner. Intrigued, I decided to browse through the books, hoping to find more insights into the world of metahumans and the mysteries that surrounded them.

Among the shelves, I discovered articles and news clippings about the particle accelerator explosion and the emergence of metahumans. One particular computer caught my eye—a public library computer that allowed me to access information on the internet.

With a bit of searching, I found details about the Flash and the events surrounding the particle accelerator explosion. It dawned on me that the plot of season 1 had just begun, and I was inadvertently caught up in the unfolding narrative.

I chuckled to myself, realizing that my journey was turning into a blend of reality and TV fiction. Armed with the knowledge of the Flash's adventures and my newfound lightning manipulation abilities, I closed the browser window, ready to face the challenges that awaited me in this Flash-inspired universe as Matthew Jones, a lightning-infused anomaly in the city of speed.
