Chapter 49: We Are All Strange

Octavianus held his breath. He squeezed his fingers so tightly, he could feel his pulse in his palms. If this were a battlefield. He would have grabbed the sword at his waist and swung it at the serpentine's neck.

But he knew this was a different situation. The woman in front of him might be his enemy, but Brianna was his General's mistress... former mistress. Without Daemond's orders, there was no way Octavianus would dare to do anything.

That's why there was nothing Octavianus could do now but follow Brianna's game.

"I don't understand what you mean, My Lady" Octavianus growled through his clenched teeth.

"Tck. Don't play dumb with me, Commander," she replied in a cheerful voice. "I know all about your feelings towards the General."

"And how do you know that? Are you a mind reader now?"
