Chapter 4: Chapter 4
I went into the dungeon and immediately equipped the kunai in both hands and started to get vigilant of my surroundings. While walking I encountered a goblin who doesn't seem to notice me yet. I took the kunai in my right hand and threw it towards the goblin, hitting the back of its head making the goblin turn into ashes. A magic stone appeared in its place. I walked up to it and grabbed my kunai and the magic stone. I examine the magic stone and notice that it looks a little bigger than the ones I've seen in the anime. While I was still examining the stone 10 more goblins spawn at once.
I immediately put the stone in my storage space and got back in my stance. The goblins started to surround me but started to play interception. I charge towards the one in front of me and slice the goblin's throat with my left kunai. I threw other kunai at the other goblin charging from behind me hitting it's forehead. I teleported to the thrown kunai to reclaim it. The rest of the goblins got angry and 5 of them started charging towards me.
I put both kunai in the space, and jumped back going through hand seals as fast as possible. I finished the hand seals and shouted "Fire Style: Great fireball jutsu!" I blew out a decent sized fireball frying 3 of the 5 goblins in the process. I grabbed the 2 kunai I had before threw them at the remaining 2 charging at me doing a pincer maneuver. I ran to reclaim them which was a mistake on my part.
I claimed my kunai but I didn't check my surroundings. My sensor skills aren't good enough to keep it passively active. I turned around immediately to see a goblin's claws dangerously close to my throat. 'Ahh crap baskets, I didn't even hear or even sense this one. It's my first first fight and I'm already about to suffer a serious injury or even die for that matter. I curse myself for thinking that 3 days is enough training for something like this.'
I began to notice something,' is it just me or the goblin is getting slower?' After that observation I immediately took advantage and swerve around getting away with just a scratch on my throat. Then roundhouse kick upside the goblin's head sending it at another 2 goblins running from behind knocking them to the ground.
I took out the gunbai and swung it creating a lethal gust of wind sending them to the wall breaking their neck and spine in the process. I look to my sides seeing the last 2 goblins attempting another pincer maneuver. As soon they got close enough I jump and stuck to the ceiling channeling my magic to my feet. I went through another string of hand seals and shouted:"Water style: Gunshot". A decent amount of water was shot towards the the goblins. I took the gunbai back out and swung it again, but I didn't put as much magic as the first time. More gusts of wind was made increasing the water jutsu speed to make sure the goblins didn't survive. After the aftermath of the jutsu all that's left was the goblins magic stones.
I use this moment to grab all of them and get a breather in. While taking a break I checked my magic reserves. 'It looks I used a quarter of my reserves, but I can keep going for another 2 fights.' I also remembered that everything seemed to slowed down. I took out a kunai and looked in the reflection to look at my eyes. To my surprise I see 2 red eyes with 1 tomoe each looking back. A smile grew on my face because I knew what this was. I quickly checked the template and my smile grew even larger than before.

After reading the template stats I did a celebratory dance inside my head. I also felt a wave of energy come from inside me. Feeling a bit more revitalized I continue further into the dungeon. I turned off the sharingan to conserve energy. After 3 minutes of walking a kobold shot out of the wall in my direction. Seeing this I turned the sharingan back on and used the gunbai as a shield. The kobold hit the gunbai and jumped back after the attack. While this was happening 19 more monsters spawned out of the wall.
I did a quick scan using my sensor ability. 10 goblins and 10 kobolds, my eye began to twitch in annoyance, "there's even more than last time." The monster sounded like they were laughing at my plea. Hearing this a tick mark grew on my head and a malicious aura appeared, scaring the monsters a little. "Sooo you like laughing at my misfortune do you. Well let me show you what happens to monsters who laugh at me." For the next 20 minutes nearby adventures hear sounds of destruction, shouts of maniacal laughter, and monsters screaming in agony.
Some decided to leave the area. Some got scared and left the dungeon entirely to report to the guild about what was going on. Some got curious and wanted to check it out. "Phew, showed them who's boss and it looks like I got one more fight in me." The dungeon didn't like what I said and spawned even more monsters than before. To be honest I didn't like the odds. So I took off running. The monsters ran after me. I ran for a while then stopped. The monsters were coming up on me quick. The good thing was I knew exactly how to handle it. When the monsters were in view I put the gunbai down and went through hand seals. "Fire style: fireball jutsu", a large fireball was made and I picked up the gunbai. I use a lot more power with this swing creating the largest gust of wind I've made.
The wind combined with the fireball created a large wave of fire that engulfed the group of monsters, burning them into ashes. I immediately grabbed the magic stones and item drops that were left after that attack. I put them and my gunbai into the storage space. I kept a kunai out in case of any ambush. I bolted back to the dungeon entrance because I honestly didn't want to get in anymore fights for the rest of the day. Luckily only 2 groups of small monsters ambushed me.
When I got out of the dungeon I was exhausted. It was still daylight outside, maybe like around 1pm. I went straight to the guild to cash in my magic stones and drop items. I walked in and saw Ms. Eina at her desk. She also noticed me and smiled, but immediately turned into horror when she saw the state I was in. Although I look like I'm still in good condition, I still got that scratch on my throat not to mention the heavy breathing. When Eina saw the scratch on my throat one thought kept coming to her mind.
That Bell almost died in the dungeon on his first day no less. She quickly hopped the counter and grabbed me. I was constantly turned left and right to see if I had any more wounds. Seeing that there was none she had a sigh of relief. Then immediately had a stern gaze on me which had me sweating a little. "Bell what happened to you!" "Well can we speak in the private meeting room." She let an angry sigh, "fine but we're getting you checked out first."
After getting checked out and leaving with a bandage around my neck, Ms. Eina took me to the meeting room and we sat across from each other. "Before I ask what happened did you happen to hear loud noises of laughter, destruction, and monsters screaming in agony while in the dungeon. I had a look of surprise on my face. "Wait people actually heard that?" "Yes they heard that", she said while looking at me suspiciously. "Oh sorry about that. I'll keep my outburst quieter next time."
Eina had a dumbfounded look on her face. I pouted in response "what the monsters laughed at me, so I got angry." After hearing the reason she just sighed in resignation. "Anyways, care to explain the scratch?" "To be honest it could've been worse." Eina hearing this narrowed her eyes in anger, "and why is that?" I proceeded to tell her what happened in the dungeon excluding the system and the awakening of my sharingan. Instead I told her that I unlocked a new skill which saved my life. After finishing the story I got a scolding of a lifetime for 10 minutes straight.
When the scolding was over Eina let a sigh and put her hands on my shoulders. She had a serious look on her face while looking straight into eyes. "Bell I've lost so many adventures to the dungeon due to their own negligence and carelessness. Please, promise me that you'll come back from the dungeon safe and sound. Hearing her words I was left speechless due to the fact that not a lot of people worry about my well being.
Coming back to my senses I had a look of determination on my face. "I promise and will make sure to keep that promise." Eina had a look of happiness and relief after hearing my declaration. "Now I'm sure you're tired so let's cash in your magic stones and drop items." I nodded in agreement and followed Eina to the exchange booth.
When we got to the exchange booth I gave Eina the magic stones and item drops. Her eyes opened wide with astonishment from the amount and size of the magic stones and item drops. "How?" "2 words, curse skill." Then she palmed her forehead "right... that skill." Then she exchange the items and was once again left stunned from the amount of valis Bell gain from the dungeon. "Bell what floor did you go to?" "The 1st floor why, how much valis did I get from this haul?"
Eina grabbed the bridge of her nose knowing she's going to get a headache from this. *Sigh*" You got 75 thousand valis." I was also surprised by the amount, but immediately regain my composure afterwards. I tried to grab the bag of valis but Eina pulled the bag and gave me a serious look. "Remember what I said Bell, I meant what I said." I gave her a small genuine smile. "Don't worry I meant what I said as well and thank you for worrying about me." Eina gave a smile in return and hand me the bag. "See you around Ms.Eina." "Bye Bell and be careful." I left the guild after that and headed home.
