Chapter 18: The Tower IX-4th Floor
*BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!*
I let out every bullet in the revolver in quick succession.
"GRARGHHHHHH!!!!"
Most of my bullets struck its abdomen as it wallowed in pain and retreated.
"No you don't! Ack!"
[Lifespan Consumed! Bullets Recharged!]
The werewolf beast jumped from roof to roof in an attempt to escape but I kept close it by using [Enhancement] to augment my body to the limit. As I jumped from roof to roof in its tracks, I kept my revolved aimed at it.
"This time I'm going for the head!"
The wolves also followed closely behind me, Ash taking the left and Loki taking the right.
"WOOOOO!!"
*BOOM! BOOM! BOOOM!*
[Your teammate [Arthur Noba] has killed [Werewolf Knight] X1]
Insanely loud explosions suddenly sounded from Arthur's direction. I wasn't focused on that however as the werewolf was distracted by the explosion and an opportunity presented itself.
"Its head is open!!"
Blood rushed to my eyes along with a strange energy, and my focus reached terrifying levels.
*BANG! BANG! BOOOOOOM!!!*
With the third shot, my body fell limp on the roof I was standing on.
[Insta-Death Curse triggered.]

{Calling! Calling! Do you receive it?}
"Arthur? I hear you!" I answered as the communication network was activated.
"I have the last one cornered, come quickly! I sent the location to your personal link!"
"Copy! I'm on the way! Ash! Loki!"
"Wooo!!" X2
I called the wolves and jumped onto Ash's back as I led them to the location I received.
A BIT LATER.
We were a bit of a distance outside the village and on the outskirts of the surrounding forest when the sounds ensued.
*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*
Loud explosions resembled old artillery weapons that were common in the pre-mana era.
I suddenly spotted Arthur in the air, flying with the help of a propulsion board below him. In his hands was a large and heavy-looking sniper rifle. With the drawing of a white tiger on its barrel, it looked loud, powerful, and unapologetic. His eyes had blood dripping from them as he dodged in mid-air. Below him, the Werewolf knight used its immense strength to throw trees imbued with mana at Arthur.
"Fucking hell!"
That wasn't the only surprising part but it was instead the werewolf knight's immense speed and camouflage method, whenever Arthur was about to shoot, it would become transluscent and jump away, only to throw a tree from a new location a moment later. Its evasiveness was obvious from Arthur's bleeding eyes, clearly a result of his overwhelmed cyberware. Military-grade didn't only mean its strength and capabilities after all but also its strain on the human body and soul.
Even though Mana for the most part acted as a cure and vaccine for the dreaded Cyberpsycho illness, it couldn't completely get rid of the strain caused by high-level cyberware. Especially not the more sensitive types such as eye, spine, and brain area implants.
"There's only one way! Arthur, link me to one of your eyes and share the vision with me!" I shouted the idea I had quickly come up with.
"What?! Shouldn't you be attacking it from below so I can find an opening?"
"That wouldn't work, it's too fast and tricky! I have a skill for aiming so trust me on this!"
"Alright, I'll link you to my left eye, once you have a shot, give me a signal!"
Instantly my left eye's vision changed and I was seeing the forest from an aerial position.
An electrifying energy spread through my muscles, and veins and concentrated itself on my eyes and hands. My revolver was aimed ahead and my eyes moved with incredible speed. The cyberware in Arthur's possession along with my body augmented by [Enhancement] and [Transcendence] was an unbelievably powerful instrument of destruction. Time itself seemed to almost come to a halt as my right eye and revolver searched for the [Werewolf Knight] and my left eye with the cyberware searched for it from the sky.
Such a difference in POVs and cyberware along with [Enhancement] would be near impossible to bear for a normal human but with my [Transcendence] my body could adapt and manage itself to perfection, causing muscle memory to instantly form and ease the strain of the complicated and stressful actions.
*Crack*
The tiniest sound of the tiniest leaf breaking resounded.
"SHOOT!!"
*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!* *BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*
Arthur's sniper rifle which was more akin to a cannon began to unleash its rocket-like bullets at the [Werewolf Knight] in quick succession.
*BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!*
My revolver instantly shot out at the exact same time, from both sides no room to breathe was left, and though my bullets were not as powerful, their accuracy and sharpness were unmatched.
[You have eliminated the final [Werewolf Knight]!]
[1st Day Survived!]
[You may rest until the same time tomorrow.]
"Phew! We did it!" Arthur said.
"We sure fucking did!, let's go group up with Luna and find some shelter," I replied.
"Sounds good man! You really surprised me there, I thought your brain would explode when I saw you trying to shoot from both perspectives at once."
"It wasn't that bad, I could use some sleep though."
"Tell me about it, just the strain from my eyes makes me want to pass out dead, I can't imagine the pain you're feeling. Right! Thanks for lending me your wolf, without him I wouldn't have been able to kill the first one." Arthur said while raising his hand to try to pet Silver.
"GRRRRRR! WOO!"
Silver's expression turned to a feral one as he jumped away to avoid Arthur's palm.
"That's strange, Silver doesn't seem to like you.." I said.
"Yeah well, I've never been good with animals, to be honest, they don't really like me much either," he replied with a chuckle
As the darkness encroached with the sun falling in the background, I spotted a small flame in the distance.
"It happens, Luna seems to already have a fire going."
"WOOO!" X3
The wolves ran ahead of us to the fire and sat around Luna as they extended their heads for her to pet them.
