Chapter 1: the start

Hoenn is a beautiful region located in the wonderful world of Pokemon. A land where it was stated to have been created by forces of nature which were either sealed away or lost, forgotten to time.

Like what normal civilization does, people began to live on such content, which, over time, developed into a brilliant civilization.

This region has up to sixteen different cities and towns and its own Pokemon league, which is a part of the World League.

The World League is the combination of 4 different regions that were established: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. Now, there are others, such as Unova and Kalos, which will be joining the league in a few years, but the others that are recognized by the World League but don't have a significant amount of development in their region cannot join the league until a decade or two pass.

This tale is about a young boy who is currently marching down toward Littleroot on Route 101. This young boy is around the age of 10, with spiked black hair and golden accents. He has blue eyes and is wearing a black shirt with a black jacket on top of it and blue jeans. Something of note is that instead of the nice clothes a child would wear at the beginning of their Pokemon journey, his are worn down. He looks beaten up and is trying to quietly make it to town without catching the eye of what appears to be people. How did he find himself in such a mess?

(??? pov)

you know when you wake up as a 4-year-old because an old man said something along the lines of "If you can dodge a car, you can dodge a ball" just to avoid oncoming traffic and reach the other side of the street and celebrate, just to get targeted by an eighteen wheeler doesn't really sound or feel great.

Now, I woke up as a four-year-old and, according to the adults around me, was acting funny because, hey, when you wake up in a four-year-old body and realize that something doesn't work right. And to top it all off, they said a funny-looking creature with spoons rattled my brain does NOT help my situation at all.

Well if you want to know something about me, I can start it off with my name. Yusei Fudo, no, not the guy that was raised in what was essentially hood Yugioh; well, I at least look like him and have the same name and might have the same intelligence, but that doesn't matter. Why? Well, that's because I am in the world of Pokemon. Great, right? Well, you'd be wrong.

The reason why is this place is like the anime or games but something like the manga where people die quite frequently.

In fact, I was told my dad died in a Pokemon stampede, an enraged Pokemon killed my mother, and her team was killed with her. I was with her at the time and somehow did not gain the attention of the enraged Pokemon. How did I make it out of that situation alive? Well, I'm just gonna blame it on Lengdary or Mythics deciding to bless me or my mother's Pokemon saving me before they either died or left.

Then there was the news backlash which, surprise, they used to bring out the terrible truth about my parent, which kept sporting bullshit about my parent doing things that were against the league, which I could tell if they were true are not. I do not really know much about my dad, but my mother was nothing but sweet to me. They at first left me alone, but they had to drag me into this political nonsense. Once the public found out that I'm alive, well, you can, just from my appearance, that I have been on the run.

The Jenny clans would tolerate me but haven't really done anything for me except let me have a place to sleep or get the crowd to go away. Really, I can't understand them; some seem to wholeheartedly believe what the news is sporting, some are on the fence, or some don't believe it at all. Now the Joy clan really are saints; why, well, it's because they don't give a shit about the news they had seen a fucking child getting abused by adults. Plus, I can even use my Pokemon against them because of stupid laws that state I'm not allowed to have Pokemon until I am 10 years old or have permission from the league, which I didn't, so I didn't want my Pokemon to get taken from me just to get sold to the highest bidder.

So, I have been getting into fistfights because I do not want the league to know that I have Pokemon on me before I become a registered Pokemon trainer. Once I am a trainer, I can register what Pokemon I have on me, and they can do nothing because it is also registered in the World League's database.

Thankfully, the league has not introduced Pokemon that is compatible with technology because it would be too easy to hack into a serve to do what they wanted.

Whatever, I'm heading towards the newly instated professor, surprisingly Professor Birch, which, to be honest, is a welcome to me because I actually know this persona and not the people who are in charge because, surprise, I am in the era where Wallace and Steven are trainers. Yeah, my rivals, which I can't tell if I'm happy or sad about, but only the future will tell.

I notice that the route ends here, and a decently small town is in front of me, and the giant sign says, "Welcome To LittleRoot Town." I then looked towards the biggest house high, which I assumed was the laboratory, and headed towards it. After all, I'll be getting my third Pokemon; I hope it isn't a terrible talent. If it is, I'll just say I'm okay with the Pokemon I have. After all, I can't accept every Pokemon and need one that is willing to help me achieve my goals.

(normal pov)

after entering the laboratory, Yusei looked around and only found what looked to be some interns working around; however, once they saw him, they started to either get nervous or look contemptuous.

Yusei expected this and prepared for the worst, hoping he would at least get a Pokedex from the professor.

After a few seconds of this standoff of everyone looking at him, a noise from the background started to get closer, which, from what Yusei could hear, was some clanking. Well, after a while, a figure had emerged, which was a bigger man who had no beard like his older counterpart. This man was Professor Birch, and once he saw Yusei, his face got a giant smile, which for Yusei was unnatural to him because it wanted a smile full of promises that people would beat him up.

"Ah, you must be Yusei Fudo, Right, come with me to the back to get your starter, and everyone, please get back to work; I don't want to hear any rumor about what these articles are supporting, or you fired, understood?" Birch had stated his interest and very quickly got back to work.

Birch had turned back towards the young child and ushered him towards a room that had no one inside it but a few machines in it. has both of them moved toward the end of the room, Yusei noticed that the machine, which in the anime had no Pokeball there, had assumed that he wouldn't be getting one of Hoenn's regional starters, which would have massively moved his plans forward. However, to his surprise, the professor changed that with one question.

"Which of the three starters, Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip, do you want?" birch said, turning towards Yusei after pressing some buttons on the giant keyboard, which was hooked up to an enormous screen displayed on the wall.

"Treecko," Yusei said; Birch nodded his head and began to type some, and a Pokeball appeared on a trading machine or something that looked like it. He reached out, grabbed the ball, and released the Pokemon inside it.

To Yusei's surprise, it was the treecko that he requested, but that wasn't the thing that surprised him. You see, Yusei has a gift since the death of his mother that he hasn't been able to probably use because of league interference. And that would be the system that is in his head.

-------------------------------------------------------------

treecko

Type: grass

------------------------------------------------------

As Yusei was looking at it, the professor pulled out his stats on the giant screen and showed what Yusei had already seen but in a way that Birch could see them.

" as you can see, this guy is a little monster, and I had waited to give him to a good trainer when I received the letter from you that you wished to become a trainer. I did gather him and the other ones if you picked them." birch had said, which Yusei was overwelled at this point. No one, and I mean no one. Had given Yusei, at this point, nothing as to what this crazy man was giving him right now.

'a diamond potential with great egg moves and a royal starter. What is this idiot doing giving me something like this? I'm supposedly a child to two traitors of Hoenn who had stood in the way of the league for years. why is he being nice to me.' Yusei had thought to himself before turning towards Birch.

"why are you giving me this treecko when you know about my past," yusei asked; birch had nodded and had a small smile, which looked to be a resigned but sad smile.

"it's because while I work for the league, I disagree with what they are doing with running your parents' reputation. This is a way for me to say sorry for what is happening to you." birch said while grabbing a bag and handing it to Yusei.

"and this is something that I am giving you: a Devon Corp bag that has a modified interior to where you can hold more things than it looks like it could. I put your Pokedex, a few Pokebalsl, potions, and a medkit for you, but seeing how you look right now, I think you might need it more than ever." after saying this and handing Yusei the bag, he began to shake because he wasn't expecting this much help and considering the regional professor is apart of the league he thought he would do whatever he could to stop him from becoming a trainer.

"Alright, well, it's best to start working on your trainer card, which can work as an ID and can even give you some nice discounts from stores." birch said while explaining all the benefits of having a trainer card to Yusei who at this point began to listen to him. after listing everything birch then turned around looking towards Yusei.

"All alright, kid, now I just got to register the Pokemon you own, and I don't mean the treecko you just got." which got Yusei on edge because he didn't display his Pokeball, nor has he informed anyone of his Pokemon.

"how do you know about those?" Yusei said with venom in his voice. Birch was surprised by this and the distrust that was evident in Yusei's eyes and put his hands up in surrender.

"My laboratory can scan for things like that. Heck, it's how I knew that you could in, but don't worry, I won't take them from you." birch said, trying to de-escalate the situation. Yusei then understood, and after a few minutes of staring, he handed over the Pokeball to Bich, who placed them under what can only be a scanner and started to record the data on his Pokemon. which once it had finished, had Birch in a kind of stupor.

"Wow, that's some pretty good Pokemon you got there. Well, here you go, one license for one Yusei Fudo," he said while handing back the Pokemon and the trainer card to Yusei, who quickly took them and then bowed his head, expressing his gratitude.

"Thank you, professor, but I must start my journey," Yusei said before quickly leaving the lab before someone decided to change their mind about him becoming a Pokemon trainer.

as I watched Yusei walk out of the room, I could not help but curse in my mind about what those old fools were doing to this region. Especially what their actions have clearly done to Yusei, which he isn't trustful of people and is constantly on high alert.

They are stomping over the names of two individuals I respected and had even cared for. Those two people are Yusei's parents. While the father is only known in Hoenn, the mother, on the other hand, was a World League star, and the propaganda going around is causing more tension with the other leagues than people can realize.

As I finished that trail of thought, I heard the screen behind me change, and I saw the one face that would turn all regions on its tail, and the legendary figure of Professor Oak appeared before me.

"Professor Oak, I'm glad to see that you answered my call and saw the recording of the little meeting I had with Yusei." That's right before I had talked with Yusei; I had called Professor Oak in secret and let him watch and see the young boy that the Hoenn league has been refusing him to see.

"He truly looks like his mother, but I believe he received the hair from his father. it certainly seemed like he would grow into an outstanding young man; however..." Oak says with a gentle smile before turning serious towards the camera and eyeing me. At this point, I am beginning to sweat because this is the legend who was the greatest Pokemon trainer and has gone up against multiple legendaries and won. Right now, in the Pokemon World League, he is the highest form of power within the league without even having a seat in it.

"When the Hoenn league kept refusing to give me custody of young Fudo and the corpse of his mother so I could have her buried next to her husband, which was not easy to find. Then, tells me that he was doing well, and I began to back off so as not to cause an international fight which I knew his mother would not want. Just for me to join this call to see the last remnant of a significant woman who I considered a granddaughter to be beaten up with worn down clothes and eyes that no child should have to appearance on that screen, you can only imagine the rage that is burning inside of me and the growing disappointment I am having for the Hoenn league right now" oak says with his voice getting calmer with ever work but from what I can tell he is holding himself back not to come down here a violate multiple laws just to get Yusei out of this hellhole

*sigh*" I understand where you are coming from. In fact, that was one of the major reasons why I pushed so hard to become a regional professor just so I could give him everything that he needs to start his journey and more." Birch said in a tired voice because of the amount of shortcuts and deals he had to make with the league so he could become the regional professor before Yusei became a trainer.

"What is his starting Pokemon? I know Lyla would never leave her child with nothing before her passing," Oak says, trying to have a better mood and wondering about the Pokemon Yusei had that made Birch surprised when he registered his Pokemon.

"well, we have to be thankful because not only did she leave something, his father left him something as well." after saying this, Oak asked to see the information about Yusei's team, which left him shocked but hoping that Yusei would have a better start than what most trainers have." birch said as he uploaded the results to Oak who in turn widened his eyes because of the ridiculous set of data that appeared in front of his eyes.

----------------------------------------------

Riolu

the egg moves: Earthquake, Cross chop, Swords dance

Bagon

Type: dragon

ability: sheer force and moxie

Trait: mutated royal

--------------------------------------------------

"I'll have to admit these two and that treecko you gave him will give him a major headstart seeing how he has three Pokemon diamond potential." yes, I know that because I spend so much money trying to get great starter Pokemon for him, and he chooses the best one out of the batch. I'm not saying that either Mudkip nor Torchic were worse because all three of them had diamond potential, but that Egg Moveset was amazing for a new trainer.

" I figure the bagon will give him the most. It's difficult to train, but do you know where he might have gotten it from? From what I know, Lyla didn't have any dragon-type Pokemon, and that is a diamond-mutated royal, which is also like finding a half-blooded legendary," Oak said, and I agreed with him. The odds of him finding that are slim to none. In fact, the only other recorded diamond-mutated royal in the Alliance database was the one that Professor Carolin's granddaughter has a Gible of, if I remember correctly.

"it was more likely the father because from what I know about him, he did have a few dragon types on his team," I replied, which got a hmm of agreement from Oak, who, from it, looked like he was contemplating something.

"Well, rilou definitely has Lyla's touch on it; that was her first Pokemon, and knowing her bloodline is a type of right of passing." Ah, yes, I'd forgotten about her bloodline. In fact, if the league knew about it, they wouldn't be slandering her from the grave and would make Yusei become a celebrity just to have him stay in Hoenn. In fact, I always thought the league knew about it because they pressed so hard for him to stay in Hoenn and not somewhere else. But when I looked into the records, it showed they knew nothing of the Fudo bloodline.

once I finished the call from Birch, I couldn't stop the feeling of rage that was racing up from the pit of my stomach.

At first, I was ecstatic to see the child of a girl I considered another of my grandchildren. When I first heard of her passing, I was devastated, and my family was too. Then he heard that she had a child, and learning that the league was having the child live on his own, I tried to have him put under my guardianship so he could have a peaceful life. However, when I was denied this by the Hoenn League and anyone who was related to her or her husband. After this commotion, there was outrage, which did have some backlash toward Hoenn and even put tension in our alliance. Once I heard of the news and the lies they were spotting, I knew something was happening in that cursed region.

The thing that got to me the most was his figure when he appeared on the screen, and for a moment, I saw red. He was bruised everywhere I could see skin. I looked like he willingly took the blows because if I knew Lyla and if he was anything like his mother, she would have fought back. From what I heard from the league and all new sources from Hoenn, they are spreading false propaganda and tasting the very image of Lyla. If what I am guessing is correct, Yusei had seen it as if he fought back against the abuse of his Pokemon; the league would revoke or take his Pokemon from him. He must have gotten his smarts from his father because I know Lyla would not care about the rules or anyone but herself and her loved one.

"damn it!" I yelled while slamming my fist onto the desk in front of me.

"Grandfather, are you alright?" Ah, Green. I had forgotten that I had messages in green, blue, and red about seeing Lyla's kid, and I suppose she was the first one to arrive.

"No, I am not, and when those two arrive, we will need to talk." After saying this, I then moved out of the way of the screen, and Green gasped when she saw the figure of what she could assume to be Lyla's child beaten up and the state of his clothes. Once she saw this, she started to cry and break down because, to her, Lyla was her and the group's big sister. According to Blue, she blames herself for not convincing Lyla to stay in Kanto and not move back to Hoenn. And I assume once she saw this beaten figure of her child, it must have sent her over the edge.

After I calmed down Green enough and got her to move towards the living room downstairs, Red and Blue entered the house. Once they saw Green, they immediately moved towards asking her what was wrong. Blue more than Red, while he just turned to me and gave me a look, asking what happened.

"look, was going to need to have a long discussion," I said while taking a seat and looking at a photo which was hung up on the wall of four children, three of them being green, red, and blue as teenagers but also another girl that was older than the rest but with a face similar to Yusei but with much brighter eyes.

So, how was my first Pokemon fanfic? Well, there is a lot to unpack here, and I won't be saying much, but if you couldn't get it that the Hoenn league is fucking corrupted right now. There are reasons why it is corrupted, but I will not be relieving them right now.

Yusei's Pokemon Riolu, Bagon, and Treecko all have diamond potential, which is not normal, and you will only see three or four Pokemon in champion-level teams have diamond potential. Also, I had to give them good egg moves because those three were practically chosen for him Riolu and Bagon, by his parents and treecko by Birch.

Now I showed some of the system, which isn't an overpowered system unless you know how to properly use it, which, like the Pokemon: master of tactics.

For the last part, Lyla or Yusei's mom had many connections, but the biggest were the trio from Kanto and Professor Oak, who thought of her as a grandchild and when he found out she died and was denied to take Yusei with him was devastated, and that Hoenn reason denies any request to see he by anyone related to either parent is causing tension in the alliance. There is a reason for this, but won't be said until later

please comment on the future team because I have a plan in my head, but I want more options than I thought.

Thank you for reading, and have a nice day.
