Chapter 19: The Madman
"Hush!"
Chen Yue gestured to Amber, indicating for her to stay here and not make any noise.
Amber obediently nodded and retreated quietly behind a corner, holding Chen Yue's travel bag.
Chen Yue glanced at Mimikyu's information panel. During the battle with the gravekeeper's Tyranitar in the graveyard, Mimikyu's Level had shot up to lv34. It had also learned three moves: [Shadow Sneak], [Mimic], and [Feint Attack].
"I'll lure them over, and you can quietly use Feint Attack or Shadow Sneak from behind to incapacitate them. Got it?" Chen Yue asked.
Mimikyu nodded solemnly.
Chen Yue turned and took two shrunken red and white Poke Balls from the travel bag. He gently opened the door, sidestepped, and walked out, finding a blind spot in the Team Rocket member's field of view and rolling into the cross-shaped corridor.
The Team Rocket member hadn't expected anyone else to be in the estate at this time, so he hadn't released his Pokemon. He was systematically searching room by room from left to right. Just as his hand was about to touch the doorknob of the storage room where Amber was hiding, a red and white Poke Ball, like a marble, rolled out from the corner.
The Team Rocket member's movements froze, and he instantly became alert, looking in the direction of the rolling Poke Ball.
"Who's there?!"
No one answered.
He could hear his own nervous breathing clearly in the otherwise quiet corridor.
"Rustling!"
A strange sound came from behind.
The Team Rocket member quickly turned around, only to see a dark shadow zooming towards him at high speed, accompanied by a strong gust of wind. It crashed directly into his temple.
A strong dizziness swept over him, and stars danced before his eyes. His body lost control and fell heavily to the ground.
The first one down!
Just as Chen Yue was about to drag the unconscious man into the adjacent room, he suddenly heard hurried footsteps coming from the wooden stairs.
Oh no!
They've been discovered!
Chen Yue didn't have time to think. His body instinctively picked up Mimikyu and pushed open the nearest room door, hiding inside.
Outside the door, the Team Rocket member who had been lured by the commotion instantly saw his companion's "body."
He became alert immediately, took out a Poke Ball, and released his own Pokemon: a deep blue Golbat.
Golbat, like many Pokemon, lived in groups in pitch-black caves and had degraded eyesight as a result. Over time, its eyes had become functionally useless in the dark.
However, during this evolution, another ability had rapidly developed: supersonic waves!
Once tamed by human trainers, this ability had been harnessed for new purposes - locating people and objects.
So, the Team Rocket member released Golbat with the purpose of finding the assailant who had attacked his companion.
Upon hearing the command, Golbat emitted supersonic waves, circling the corridor before finally stopping in front of one of the room doors.
But soon, Golbat seemed to detect something else and began flapping its wings and flying to another room door.
This indicated... there were two people in this area!
The Team Rocket member's pupils contracted, his face filled with tension as he pulled out a walkie-talkie from his waist, preparing to notify the other three.
"Zi zi la la!"
A faint electric current sound came from the walkie-talkie. The Team Rocket member looked nervous, waiting for the walkie-talkie to connect while staring without blinking at one of the room doors.
As a result, he didn't notice that the door of the room where Golbat had first stopped opened silently.
Chen Yue lifted a wooden chair and immediately smashed it onto the opponent's head without hesitation.
Mimikyu's attack followed closely, slamming into the man's knee.
With perfect coordination between the human and Pokemon, this Team Rocket member knelt down on the spot. He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but his throat couldn't produce any sound.
"Thud!"
Another muffled sound of falling to the ground echoed in the corridor.
When Golbat saw its trainer being attacked, its eyes turned red in an instant.
Its wings quickly swung, generating two sharp wind blades in mid-air, forming a cross-shaped attack towards Chen Yue.
Mimikyu noticed this and leaped high, positioning itself in front of its trainer and taking the Air Cutter attack.
However, Mimikyu didn't suffer substantial damage; it only lost its Disguise Ability.
"Well done!"
Chen Yue commanded in a deep voice, "Use Mimic!"
Mimikyu jumped onto a nearby chair, its two small eyes wide and round, with a strange flow of light within them.
The wind gathered in front of it, forming a cross-shaped wind blade, and it struck Golbat.
Without a trainer's command, Golbat was slow to react and was directly hit by Mimikyu's attack, tumbling to the ground.
"Use Feint Attack to finish it off!" Chen Yue continued with his orders.
Mimikyu immediately launched a pursuit, crashing fiercely into Golbat's belly with a strong gust of wind.
Golbat's eyeballs almost popped out, and it couldn't bear it any longer. Its eyes rolled over, and it fell unconscious.
However, the situation was not over.
The Team Rocket member who had fainted was holding a walkie-talkie, and it had been activated at some point.
The buzzing sound of electric currents echoed conspicuously in the quiet corridor.
When Chen Yue noticed the walkie-talkie, it was already too late.
A hurried footsteps approached from the end of the corridor.
The remaining three Team Rocket members approached from both sides.
Professor Fuji followed behind them, his gaze sweeping over the two unconscious figures on the ground, finally settling on Chen Yue's face, his expression furious.
He asked, "Where is my daughter?"
His suppressed angry voice reverberated in the corridor.
Chen Yue remained silent. Professor Fuji suddenly pulled out a Poke Ball, and with a flash of white light, a purple, strong-bodied Nidoking with muscles like armor appeared beside him.
As soon as Nidoking came out, it raised its head and let out a powerful roar, causing even the ground to tremble.
Chen Yue's gaze flickered.
Is this the difficulty of the hidden mission?
Just at that moment, the door to the utility room opened.
Amber ran out with an obviously oversized travel bag, standing in front of Chen Yue with a stern expression. She said, "You're not allowed to harm Brother!"
Professor Fuji took a deep breath, his facial muscles trembling uncontrollably. It was evident that he was trying to restrain his emotions. He said, "Amber, come to Daddy!"
Amber stubbornly shook her head.
This time, Professor Fuji couldn't control himself anymore. He was provoked to the point where he triggered an extreme personality seizure.
"You're so disobedient... It seems I need to teach you a lesson before you'll listen to Daddy!"
A sinister smile appeared at the corner of his mouth as he ordered, "Nidoking, use Earthquake and crush them for me!"
Amber's face instantly turned pale.
Upon hearing this, Chen Yue quickly hugged Amber and Mimikyu, forcefully pushed aside one of the Team Rocket members blocking their way, and turned to run.
A frightened growl from the Team Rocket member echoed behind him, "D-Doctor, what are you doing? We're on the same side... Ah!"
Chen Yue didn't look back, and as a powerful and terrifying beam of light passed by his arm, all the sounds behind them disappeared.
