Chapter 183: -182- The familiar existence

Gradually, the figures of students began to appear on the roof of the cruise ship.

After passing the special exam, students finally had the leisure to come here to relax.

Among them, there were neither students from Class A nor from Class C.

It seems that the blow from the special exam to these two classes has not completely subsided yet, right?

But it doesn't matter.

Anyway, Hori and Ayanokouji Kiyotaka have already left here, walking down the stairs and towards the corridor below.

Chabashira Sae had already left in advance and was not with Hori and Ayanokouji Kiyotaka.

So, there were only Hori and Ayanokouji Kiyotaka here.

In this situation, Hori spoke as if talking to himself, without looking at Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, just saying:

"Is this okay?"

What exactly he was referring to didn't need to be said.

Apart from being threatened by Chabashira Sae, what else could it be?

And Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, as if completely indifferent, still showed no emotion on his face.

"There's no other way. I don't want to be expelled, so I can only do this."

That was Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's answer.

However, this statement couldn't satisfy Hori.

The reason is simple.

"Considering your abilities, you should be able to come up with several ways to deal with that teacher, even making her disappear from this school isn't impossible, right?"

Hori said calmly.

This was also his sincere opinion.

Certainly, Chabashira Sae is the homeroom teacher of Class D, and using the rules of Advanced Nurturing High School, there are many ways to make a student drop out.

But in Hori's opinion, although Chabashira Sae is calm and strong, like Horikita Suzune, she can only be considered excellent, not powerful.

If that's the case, if it were someone else, it would be understandable, but Ayanokouji Kiyotaka shouldn't be unable to handle Chabashira Sae.

At worst, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka shouldn't be threatened by Chabashira Sae.

From this, it can be seen how highly Hori evaluates Ayanokouji Kiyotaka.

Even the teachers can't do anything to this person.

This was Hori's most genuine thought.

Unfortunately, this time, Hori was a bit presumptuous.

"Maybe that's true."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka didn't deny it, and replied with an unchanged expression.

"But I can't afford to take the risk."

Can't afford to take the risk.

The meaning of this sentence didn't immediately dawn on Hori, until the next second.

"Don't want to take risks?"

It should be like this.

With Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's abilities, he should indeed be able to deal with Chabashira Sae.

However, Chabashira Sae holds the trump card that determines Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's fate, and that's the reality.

Once Ayanokouji Kiyotaka really decides to deal with Chabashira Sae, Chabashira Sae might be willing to risk everything and play a mutually destructive game with Ayanokouji Kiyotaka.

By then, even if Ayanokouji Kiyotaka could deal with Chabashira Sae, if he was expelled, it would be meaningless.

And Ayanokouji Kiyotaka must stay in the school.

There's no second choice.

Therefore, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka sincerely envies Hori.

"I envy your freedom."

This sentence reached Hori's ears.

"Freedom?"

Hori smiled disapprovingly.

"Maybe."

With Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's recent response in mind, Hori didn't say more and continued walking forward, preparing to exit the corridor.

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka watched Hori in this way.

Suddenly, for no apparent reason, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka said:

"Do you know about the Assassins?"

The Assassins.

When this name reached Hori's ears, his footsteps suddenly slowed down.

The atmosphere around him also changed.

It became cold.

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka also stopped his steps.

Feeling the sudden change in atmosphere around Hori, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's expression remained unchanged, but he spoke with a somewhat solemn tone.

"I think, for you, it shouldn't be a completely unfamiliar existence, right?"

Of course, it wasn't unfamiliar.

And, quite familiar indeed.

Familiar to the bone.

The Assassins.

////In romanized arbic it's Al-Ḥashshāshīyīn, and in Persian Ḥaššāšīn ////

They originated in North Africa in the 12th century, as a branch of Ismaili Islam.

Its founder was Hassan-i Sabbah, known as the Old Man of the Mountain, who claimed to be a descendant of the Hashemite dynasty of southern Arabia. He devoted himself to spreading the "New Propaganda Movement" derived from Ismaili Shi'a Islam, but the academic community has always been cautious about his claims, while the public mostly regards it as a heretical branch of Ismaili Shi'a Islam.

In 1090, Hassan-i Sabbah bought a castle in Tunisia as a propaganda base for the "New Propaganda Movement," which eventually developed into the headquarters of Hassan-i Sabbah and his followers, namely the Assassins, to carry out the "New Propaganda Movement."

Hassan-i Sabbah called himself the Grand Master of the "New Propaganda Movement," under whom there were many Grand Masters, each responsible for missionary work in a region. Beneath each Grand Master were many missionaries, this was the organizational structure of the Assassins.

In the Assassins, missionaries were ready to execute the Grand Master's orders at any time, even at the cost of their lives.

And the doctrine propagated by the Assassins, the core of the "New Propaganda Movement," aimed to liberate the members from the constraints of Ismaili doctrine.

They claimed that the prophets of the past were redundant, and people should only worship the Grand Master, because the Grand Master could send them to the garden of God alive.

To promote this doctrine, for many years thereafter, under the command of the Grand Master, the members launched attacks, looted property, and even occupied territory around Alamut, without hesitation to achieve their missionary goals.

Among the many methods they used, one was most commonly employed.

——Assassination.

The Assassins were masters of assassination.

In their long years of activity, the Assassins developed assassination into an art, and eventually even made the name "Ḥaššāšīn" the origin of the word "Assassin."

So, the Assassins were masters of assassination, even the progenitors of assassins, honing their assassination skills to the bone, and every member of the sect knew the art of assassination.

In this situation, Hassan-i Sabbah's "New Propaganda Movement" lasted for more than a hundred years around Alamut, even though local governments had tried to eradicate it as a heretical organization, but without success.

Until the 13th century, when the Mongols, who destroyed the Khwarazmian Empire, conquered the Assassins' fortress and its several affiliated fortresses in Persia in 1256, but by then the instigator Hassan-i Sabbah was long gone, and only the 19th Grand Master of the Assassins, who inherited his legacy, even inheriting the name "Hassan-i Sabbah" and the title "Old Man of the Mountain," remained.

That's the historical Assassins.

"But..."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, staring at Hori's back, spoke up.

The words that came out of his mouth were enough to shake the history of the world.

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's words were as follows:

"People don't know that the Assassins were not completely eradicated."
