Chapter 15: It’ll Be Fun and Humiliating

Caesar raised his eyes, shooting him a startled look.

"How did you know that, Yuri? Nikolai told you, didn't he?"

"So, she really is your mate." Yuri laughed, incredulous. "I guess you are doing this because she is your mate. And it is a stupid idea! She is human, sir, and an enemy at that. You can't possibly want to mate with a hu-"

"I would never do that," Caesar sharply cut him off. "I am merely doing this to get what I want."

"What about your father? What will you do if he finds out about this?" Yuri asked, concerned.

"Nothing, because he won't do anything," Caesar replied while watching the ritzy high-rises blur by. "I am doing what I'm doing to get rid of the Petrovs. And as for Adeline..." He paused.

"...No one will get hurt. She will be very useful and in return, she will get what she wants. It's as simple as that. It has absolutely nothing to do with her being my mate."

Yuri peered at him with a puzzled expression. "If you'd already made up your mind on what to do, then why did you give her a week to think about it? Why didn't you just say yes?"

Caesar shrugged with his arms spread.

"I didn't want her to make a decision like that in a moment of breakdown," he said, loosening his tie. "It is best she does so with a clear head, then come back to me. If she is going to choose me, she has to do it wholeheartedly."

Yuri sighed heavily. "If things go wrong, sir, the consequences will be more than you can bear," he warned, puffing out a deep breath.

Caesar chuckled, saying, "I have that under control. As for my old man, I'll be able to handle him on my own."

"Sometimes the fastest way to destroy someone is to use their enemy." He spared him a glance, his tone serious. "Adeline is perfect...like a ticking bomb."

Yuri exhaled softly with a frown and looked away from him, his arms folded.

Caesar relaxed, and he could see his expression suddenly fall into one of worry.

What could have the supreme alpha perturbed? Did it have something to do with his human mate?

He could hear Caesar sigh audibly and watched him tilt his head against the window.

Indeed, Caesar was bothered, and it had to do with Adeline.

Her so-called sickness—he knew what it was and the reason for it.

Apparently, there was this thing called 'mate sick' that he knew only ever happened to Omegas. It occurred when an omega was separated from her mate and given to another.

There was no difference between it and an undiagnosed sickness that slowly but steadily killed from within.

And yes, it was unfortunately Adeline's case. The mark and the fact that it appeared after she married Dimitri confirmed it.

She was his mate and, therefore, never should have been given to another man be it a human or his kind.

Her whole existence needed him, and unless he marked her, she would never be cured of it.

But how could he mark her? She didn't even know what he was or that she was mated to him.

The only way to possibly help her was either he marked her or she rejected him.

A wave of distress rushed through him at the thought of that word, and his inner alpha snarled, equally troubled. This caused him to anxiously turn on his seat, grabbing Yuri's attention.

He'd been waiting for his mate for how long?

Eighteen years after commencing as a dominant supreme alpha at the age of twelve. And now he was going to have her reject him?

Despite her being a human, he really never had the intention of rejecting her—at least not yet. He could change his mind for all he knew.

Who knew if he would ever even get another mate if he ever did so?

Sure he said otherwise to Yuri as he would never admit not minding a human mate in some way. But he had his reasons.

As a supreme alpha, mating with a human should be the last of his thoughts. His pack would never agree to it or accept Adeline, he was sure of that.

And it left him wondering why she had to be human...

Caesar breathed, running his fingers through his dark hair.

Yuri glanced at him, asking, "Are you…okay?"

"I'm fine!" Caesar grunted in response.

Yuri slightly nodded, knowing better than to press on what the problem could be.

The hurried footsteps of the maids from the fourth floor of the mansion were so loud that Adeline could hear them even in her sleep.

She woke up sometime later and sat up on the bed with her weary eyes blinking open.

Last night, she'd slept in the guest room as she was not willing to see or wake up to Dimitri's face.

She settled her feet on the floor, put on her slippers, and left for her room.

The door was slightly opened when she arrived, causing her to furrow her brows in perplexity.

Did Dimitri leave the door open? She was sure she'd left it shut after changing into a clean new set of pajamas.

"You were so amazing, Dimitri," Adeline heard a hushed voice saying. "I had so much fun yesterday and-" The words were cut off by a quiet moan.

Adeline realized that the voice belonged to a female, and she could feel a sudden lump of disgust build up in her throat.

She stepped into the room and lifted her head to glance at the bed. There in Dimitri's arms was a half-naked, blonde-haired lady with a voluptuous figure.

They were lying on the bed, smooching affectionately.

The blondie looked at her with a wrinkled forehead.

"Who is this woman, Dimitri?" she asked. She didn't sound happy any longer.

Dimitri stared at Adeline and suddenly pinched between his brows, sighing annoyingly. "This is my wife, Amelia," he introduced.

"Your wife?" The blondie, Amelia, cocked an eyebrow and thoroughly scrutinized Adelina from head to toe. "I see. I don't think she's happy to see us. Is she going to stop us from having fun now?"

Dimitri cackled, immediately shaking his head at her in response. "Of course not. She would-"

"You can resume from where you stopped." Adeline cooed with a smile and took a step back. "Forgive my interruption. I really had no idea you were in here." She spared a glance at Dimitri before slamming the door shut.

Dimitri blinked rapidly and hurried down from the bed. "Wait in here for me," he said to Amelia and picked up his trousers from the floor.

"Where are you going?" Amelia inquired, frowning in displeasure.

Dimitri didn't give a response. He zipped up his trousers and left the room to go after Adeline, barefoot and shirtless.

The knob turned as he opened the door, and he stepped into the guest room, his gaze shifting to the sofa where Adeline sat with her legs crossed and her head thrown back.

"Adeline," he said, approaching her.

Adeline didn't answer him. She blinked her lengthy lashes apart and began to stare at the ceiling.

Dimitri stood before her. He balled his hands into fists and said with a tone tinged with irritation, "You better not make a fuss about this. I won't appreciate it at-"

"I don't care." Adeline's voice was calm and cold. She puffed a soft breath, lifting her head to meet his gaze.

"You are free to bring back hundreds of women and do whatever suits you. I really don't give a single fuck anymore. Do what you want."

Dimitri's left eye twitched as he began to get pissed off with each passing second.

What the hell was wrong with her? Adeline wasn't usually this way. She was his entertainment, someone he had so much fun messing with. But right now, she was acting different.

Unbothered, cold and indifferent. She didn't even seem fazed by his actions anymore which didn't sit right with him.

It had been like this since the day her mother died, and now, it had worsened.

Was she pissed off? About the messages and photos he sent her the previous night? Not that he regretted it though, he was rather curious.

Leaning down, he pressed his hands on either side of her head, questioning, "What the is wrong with you? Are you high or something? Is that why you are not mad, glaring at me or trembling in anger?"

Adeline's forehead contracted into a frown and she pushed him off, getting up from the couch. "You are too full of yourself, Dimitri.

"You think I'd get mad…over that?" she asked, chuckling a bit and shook her head as though his stupidity was comical. "I'm not like that anymore. You'll need to find a new hobby."

"Fuck whoever you want, I don't mind. You opened our marriage for this reason, so have fun. I won't stop you…ever!"

To her surprise, Dimitri laughed loudly. "First night after your mother's funeral, and you are mouthing off." He sucked his teeth. "You are hurt, and it is written all over your face. Pretend all you want, but I can still see through you. And you know one thing, you will always be a peice of garbage and no matter how hard you try, you're stuck with me for the rest of your miserable life."

"You will never be happy and if you want even a tiny tatse of it...beg on your knees like a dog. I might consider." He grinned at her. "But of course, you can continue being stubborn. It's been two years now, I wonder for how long you will keep being this way with me."

He turned around and left the room, utterly entertained.

As soon as the door was shut, Adeline sat down on the sofa and clutched her chest.

Hurt…? But he was dead wrong. She hated him too much and it was no longer like it used to be. She wasn't a woman in an unrequited love and she was past the stage where this sort of nonsense would affect her.

'Spiteful' would be more accurate. That's what she felt...

A smile, vey faint and dry made its way to her lips.

She had one week to decide if she truly wanted that man's help—the man who'd been there at the crucial time, as if fate had sent him to her.

But there was really nothing to ponder. She'd made up her mind.

If not him, who else would she be able to get help from?

Mr. Petrov had prevented her from having any friends or even staying in contact with her parent's relatives. They took everything from her, including freedom.

Indeed, she could simply release the PTVs777 and destroy them in one swoop, but nothing about it would be able to bring her closure.

It wouldn't be satisfying enough. She needed to dig deep in and uproot them completely, with no possible way to get back up.

Stripping them off everything they'd ever owned and having them crawl on all fours, begging, was what she truly wanted.

To see them cry and plead like those they have trampled on would truly be the ending for her.

Releasing the PTVs777 will however be the finishing touch—the cherry on top!

The smile that had subconsciously emerged on Adeline's face stretched from ear to ear, and she trembled in agitation, heavily exhilarated at the mere thought of it.

It may be nothing but an imagination for now, but soon...

Her head tipped back, and she sighed at the satisfactory feeling the thought brought her.

The malicious glint in her pupils darkened. "Just wait…it'll be fun and humiliating, I promise you."

"I'll show you fun much better than what you have now..."
