Chapter 57: The Eternal Dragon's Attack Part 3
Aki flew with all her fury towards the Eternal Dragon with Kai on her back, at the same time as the corrupted dragon descended on them with its powerful claws and jaws ready to crush.
Kai's right hand glowed with a powerful yellow light, drawing Hana's attention to the dragon in human form. With a smile on his face, Kai fired his attack at the dragon's chest, slowing it down considerably.
The shockwave caused the clouds to recede a few hundred meters, allowing the sun to shine freely in the sky.
Without missing an opportunity, Aki lunged forward with all the speed she could muster at that moment and threw a powerful punch at Hana's face, creating an even bigger shockwave than Kai's first attack.
Kai was thrown into the air by the impact of both dragons, flying a few dozen meters above the Eternal Dragon. Using his experience in such situations, Kai quickly stabilized his body and launched another solar fusion at his enemy's back.
Aki unleashed a devastating combination of blows at Hana, each with enough force to easily destroy an island, but these blows didn't seem to affect the corrupted dragon as expected. Before Hana could try to bite Aki, Kai's attack hit her in the back, distracting her enough for Aki to move away.
Thanks to Aki's information, Kai knew that the bite of an Eternal Dragon could infect a Celestial Dragon with darkness, so it was absurdly necessary to avoid bites at all costs.
Finally attracted by the planet's gravity, Kai free-fell towards the Eternal Dragon, clenching his two fists tightly and concentrating his energy to create two solar fusions at the same time.
Sensing the concentration of energy, the corrupted dragon turned its attention to Kai, using its four wings to propel itself with extreme speed.
Seeing the Eternal Dragon ready to attack her grandson, Aki fired a blast of white fire that managed to burn Hana's scales, causing the first damage in the battle.
Hana let out a loud roar, showing her irritation, but her anger would only increase when Kai took advantage of this moment to fire his little suns at her face. This explosion was practically equivalent to a dragon-shaped blow from Aki, not a pleasant effect at all.
Hit by the shockwave of his own attack, Kai lost consciousness for a few seconds, but his grandmother quickly came to his rescue, grabbing him with her giant claws and saving him from falling thousands of meters into the sea.
- KAI! Are you all right? - asked Aki without taking his eyes off the disoriented Eternal Dragon.
- I'm fine, I just lost consciousness for a moment. - Kai confessed, immediately regaining his composure.
- If we attack Hana at several points, she won't have time to prioritize her attacks on one of us. - Aki said, still wary of his former teacher's next moves.
- Let's go!
Aki and Kai flew towards Hana at full speed, both determined to destroy every atom of the dragon if necessary.
Recovering from his disorientation, the corrupted dragon unleashes his fury on the celestial dragons, but to his surprise, Aki spears Kai with one of his paws at a speed faster than sound, with a charged solar fusion, Kai launches another blast at his face.
Kai, still under the effect of being thrown by his grandmother, maintained enough speed to climb up and land on top of Hana. Without any limitations, he used all the physical strength he could muster to deliver blows and try to break the dragon's spine, but his strength wasn't enough.
Feeling the discomfort of Kai's blows, Hana tried to get rid of him with area maneuvers, but was stopped by Aki, who bit her neck and tried to break it with the force of his jaw.
Losing patience, the corrupted dragon spreads its four wings wide and uses its superior strength to launch itself into a violent flight with Aki and Kai on top of it. Kai inevitably loses his balance and is left behind in the air, free-falling towards the sea.
Without Kai to distract Hana, Aki was completely overwhelmed by the corrupted dragon, receiving extremely powerful blows from Hana's draconic arms. Each blow was strong enough to disturb Aki's mind and make his bones tremble.
Losing patience, Aki concentrated her energy in her mouth, creating a yellow sun in a few seconds, which she immediately shot at Hana, hoping to ward off the Eternal Dragon's pressure on her.
Aki, a little disoriented by her own fiery attack, flies towards her grandson, who should be approaching to crash into the sea. With its enormous size and speed, it was quite effective to descend in a straight line like an arrow, but the same was true of Hana, who had a much larger body. The Eternal Dragon was stalking Aki, its mouth open to bite any part of Aki's body and corrupt his soul with darkness.
When Aki's eyes caught sight of his grandson, he realized that he was executing a solar fusion with a blue sun 30 centimetres in diameter, an amount of energy five times greater than that which Azula had manifested in his demonstration. Realizing that her grandson was waiting for Hana's attack, Aki accelerated even more, waiting for the moment when Kai would fire the blue sun.
Kai was 100 meters from falling into the sea, Aki was 10 meters from reaching his grandson, and the corrupted dragon was 2 meters from reaching Aki.
Before the Eternal Dragon had a chance to corrupt his soul, Aki turned his body several times on its axis, dodged Kai's attack and grabbed him with his paws, a golden glow radiating from his body, a sign that his light had been used to increase his speed at the last moment.
The Eternal Dragon, without reacting, was hit by Kai's best attack right in the mouth, causing an explosion that pushed all the seawater a few hundred meters in different directions without any resistance.
Fortunately, Aki was able to use her speed to get far enough away from the explosion so that the two celestial dragons could see the blue splendor and hopefully cause some damage to Hana's body.
- Is that enough? - Kai asked hopefully.
- A blow like that should have caused at least some considerable damage.
Hana comes out of the explosion with her body covered in blue flames from the epicenter of the explosion and runs towards Aki and Kai at the speed of sound. By reflex, Aki protects Kai with his body, being hit with such force that he breaks his arm and some of his ribs.
The force of the blow was so effective that Aki lost consciousness for a moment, releasing Kai from his grip, causing them both to fall into the sea and bounce a few times in the water.
Kai emerged from the seawater with blood dripping from his nose, a combined result of this battle and his grandmother's test. Since both dragons were not at their best, this was a factor that made victory against the Eternal Dragon more difficult.
- Shit! - Kai shifted his shoulder to the correct position, becoming even more irritated by the situation.
When he noticed that the colors around him were fading, the sky turning completely grey, along with the ocean which had lost its characteristic color, his gaze went to the Eternal Dragon, which was charging its own solar fusion with the dark flames of death, as if he somehow saw a black hole being formed.
Kai looked around for Aki, but his vision was impaired by the waves of the sea, which were spinning wildly due to the orbit the black sun was creating. Closing his eyes, he realized that his grandmother's energy was weakened, but without any signs of activity, which meant that Aki had fainted.
- Damn... if that thing fires that attack, it will be impossible for Aki to recover afterwards. - Kai analyzed his options in this extremely dangerous situation. - If I bend my fire in this position, I'll definitely make Hana shoot in my direction. Even then, my grandmother would be hit by the side effect of the explosion.
With some doubts in his heart, Kai came up with an idea he hadn't used yet, a weapon he hadn't used against a dragon, his ability to turn the energy outside himself into flames for himself.
- I hope this works. - Kai raised his arm towards the Eternal Dragon and snapped his fingers.
With the snap of his fingers, Kai activated his latest flame manipulation technique and tried to convert the Eternal Dragon's energy into his own flames. The black sun that was growing by the second stopped, causing the Eternal Dragon to become confused.
The black sun began to be covered in white flames, as if the two energies were dueling to see who would cancel each other out and take control of the technique.
Kai used all his energy to buy time for his grandmother to recover enough to return to the fight, but Hana, irritated by the audacity of the dragon in human form, extended her tail and used it again like a whip to tear through the air and hit him with the full impact wave.
With no chance to dodge, Kai was hit hard by the air pressure, causing the seawater to split in two. His bones were broken in several places: ribs, arms, legs, skull, and much more. With the loss of consciousness, the young celestial dragon sank into the ocean with his energy reserves at a very low level.
Without Kai's interference, the Eternal Dragon felt free to finish his technique and shrink the black sun to fit in his mouth, but before he could swallow the sun, the sea glowed with yellow light and a huge sunbeam exploded towards Hana.
Aki emerged from the sea, his fury even more evident, spitting out his flames with all the energy he had managed to gather thanks to his grandson. Thanks to his attack, he managed to push Hana up into the clouds in a matter of seconds.
Aki's scarlet eyes glowed brightly and, if a human saw them, they could mistake them for stars. Letting out a mighty roar, she ran at her former teacher with fury, her speed even faster, hitting the Eternal Dragon even harder. Thanks to Aki's individual ability, her nebula strengthened her body with great physical power. This allowed him to land even more effective blows on Hana.
With a left punch to the jaw, a right hook and a powerful left punch to the ribs, Aki concentrated his fire and fired his white flames, burning the left side of the Eternal Dragon's face.
Not wanting to miss the opportunity to eliminate the body of his teacher and friend, Aki grabs Hana and continues his incineration until he manages to destroy the corrupted dragon's head.
With victory in hand, Aki activated his Embers of Light to increase the power and effectiveness of his attack, but felt excruciating pain in his chest, causing him to lose the ability to maintain his white flames.
The Eternal Dragon's Tail pierced Aki's body like a spear, piercing the Celestial Dragon's lung and causing golden blood to gradually fall from the sky.
Hana grabbed Aki's arms and crushed them, making a distinctive "cracking" sound, the pain from her two broken arms causing Aki to scream, aggravating the injury to her lung.
When the smoke cleared from Hana's face, the face of the former queen of the spirit world was disfigured, half of it burnt to the bone, a grotesque sight for Aki in many ways.
The Eternal Dragon, having Aki at its mercy, opened its disfigured mouth, its sharp teeth ready to crush flesh, without compassion, Hana bit Aki's neck, digging its fangs into her flesh. The stains of darkness slowly began to run down Aki's neck, mixing with the golden blood oozing from the wound.
With Aki's light corrupted, the Eternal Dragon released the disoriented Celestial Dragon to fall towards the sea like a meteor, crashing violently into the sea and further aggravating the ancient dragon's injuries.
