Chapter 5: Endurance and Growth

Arata lay in his bed, finally able to drift off into peaceful sleep. However, his rest was abruptly interrupted by a splash of water drenching him. Startled, he sat up and saw Mr. Sojou, the old man, standing nearby.

"Grandpa, what's going on?" Arata asked, confusion evident in his voice.

"From today, your training officially begins," declared Grandpa, his tone firm. "Rule number one: wake up before the sun every day and be ready in five minutes. Understood?"

"Yes, sir," Arata replied, determination flickering in his eyes as he accepted the challenge.

With a nod, Grandpa left the room, leaving Arata to change and prepare himself. Soon, he joined his grandfather outside, ready to start his training.

"Before I teach you anything, you need to strengthen your body," Grandpa explained, his voice carrying wisdom. "A strong vessel can endure even the toughest trials. Think of your body as a rope – the stronger it is, the more it can withstand without breaking."

Listening intently, Arata nodded, absorbing his grandfather's words. He knew he couldn't afford to give up; he had to push through the challenges ahead.

To illustrate his point, Grandpa presented two ropes made of the same material. "How can one be stronger than the other?" he asked Arata.

"The structure and knitting pattern determine its strength," Arata responded, grasping the lesson.

"Exactly," Grandpa affirmed with a smile. "With a strong foundation, the structure becomes resilient. Do you understand, my boy?"

"Yes, Grandpa," Arata replied emphatically, his determination growing stronger with each passing moment.

With determination fueling him, Arata eagerly accepted his first task: to run until exhaustion. As he circled the house, his grandfather prepared breakfast, silently observing his progress. Arata felt the burn in his muscles, but he knew he had to keep going. "I can't give up," he thought to himself. "I have to do this."

"It's time for breakfast," Grandpa called out, breaking Arata's concentration.

Entering the house, Arata was surprised to see his grandfather had prepared a feast. "Can we finish all this food?" Arata asked, his stomach rumbling in anticipation.

"You will know in a bit," Grandpa replied with a smile, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

Hungry and exhausted, Arata eagerly devoured the feast his grandfather had prepared, expressing his gratitude between mouthfuls. With newfound energy, he was ready to resume his training.

After finishing their meal, they resumed their training regimen, focusing on strengthening Arata's arms and legs with push-ups. Arata pushed through the pain, his determination unwavering. "Gotta keep going," he thought, sweat dripping down his forehead.

Days passed, and Arata's endurance grew. Finally, the time came to learn the art of combat, marking the next phase of Arata's journey towards self-discovery and mastery.

As they prepared to begin, Arata's heart swelled with anticipation, eager to embrace the challenges that lay ahead.
