Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Lonely Saviour.
'I'm hungry. Really hungry.'
"Get something to eat Sakura!"
"Sure sir Maple." I get off the cold floor and look outside. The entire area was surrounded by tall trees.
I don't know what to do. Oh wait!
'I can go back- oh. B-.... He said I should stay here. For 'a while'. I'm still hungry.'
I walk into the forest. I see rabbits, snails, birds and a bunch of more animals. I look around for fruit.
It takes about 4 minutes before I find an apple tree. I pluck a fruit and take a bite. 'Tasty!' I take more and head home.
Unfortunately, I trip and scrape my knee. I end up tearing up, my head turns.
"Ino! I....uhm."
Right. I'm alone. The thought starts to really sink in. I almost cry. Almost.
'I'm not allowed to cry if I want to be stronger.' Just get home. I walk back, considerably slower than before.
I press my body against the cabin walls. Slowly, I eat the dirty apples. Every day will be like this for...
"A while. You can wait a while, right Sakura?" My index finger wiggles, almost in a rather disapproving way.
"Yeah. I can wait a while." I wipe the dirt off my face. I'm fine.
3 hours later....
Inside the cabin, I race back and forth. Then I trip on my feet and fall head first.
"Ahh!" I clutch my head tightly for a few minutes. Then I move up and feel something warm touch my neck.
My left hand glazes over the earring. 'I'll just have to remember what it was like.' I feel something press against my stomach.
I take a black book out of my clothes. 'I forgot I had this.' All I can do is read this book. For as long as I can.
And so...
I live like that. For weeks and weeks. Not hearing a single thing about the outside world.
Until...I couldn't stand anymore.
"I'm going outside!"
'Surely, I can meet other people in this village. Just like Konoha.' I put a bunch of apples and berries in my pocket.
I then set off for new adventures!
2 hours later....
I've been walking for so long. Just keep going. Just keep moving. So, I keep walking along the grey path.
Eventually, I see someone strange running to me. They were breathing heavily and covered in blood.
Instinctively, I ran to the woods to keep myself out of danger. They stop for a moment and look around, their blue eyes lock onto mine.
They go in the opposite direction, the other side of the forest. I walk out feeling a little nervous.
'What was-
"HEY GIRL!"
I nearly jump out of my skin when I notice two men in front of me.
"Chill dude. You're scaring her." The man next to him had grey hair, yet did not look old at all. He bent his knees and looked into my eyes.
"Little girl, have you seen someone come here?"
"Ah..uh no. Sir." He nods.
"What are you doing?"
"Collecting some fruit." That isn't a lie. His eyes waver over the half-eaten apple in my hands and the fruits; berries in my pockets.
"I see. Stay safe." I nod and they run past me.
I walk forward then look back to see no one behind. I then bite my apple and keep going along the path.
'Definitely, I'm being watched. Even if I can't feel it, I know how missions like these work thanks to my B...
They'll give up in ten minutes or so since they look like they're in a rush. Act normal.
I bite the apple.
10 minutes later....
It's been way too long. 'How far away is the village!?' I can't move forward for who knows how long.
I turn around and head back home.
Whatever hours later....
With my memory, I was able to find the location of this area again. I stand still for a bit to catch my breath.
Then I open the door and see something shocking inside. Someone was sleeping on my cabin floor.
"What!" They shuddered. 'Ah! Shut up Sakura.' I walk a little closer to the person. As I stare at the body, I realise...
1. It's a girl
2. She has a large needle by her side
And that's it.
After a few minutes, I still don't know what to do. I move to tap her on the shoulder but in an instant...
I feel cold metal on my neck. Sharp blue eyes scan me. Sweat drips down my face as I try to form any cohernet words.
"Who are you?" Her voice sounds sore but it also feels dangerous.
"Sakura." I don't know if I can say my full name yet.
"Hhmmm." I can tell she's thinking my name over. "Sakura. Sakura?" My name rolls off her tongue so easily.
"You weren't on the list of people sent to capture me. Once again, who are you?" Metal presses against my neck and it feels even harder to breath.
"I'm Sakura....someone who recently moved here."
"Alone?"
"Y-yeah." I think that's enough. And I was right because she backs off and rests against the cabin walls.
"They way you reacted and the fact you didn't notice my little trick makes me think you're a civilian. Don't think that means you're safe just yet."
As I watch the girl resting on my cabin walls. My eyes linger over her body.
She had long white hair with strands of blue at the end. Her eyes were of the same blue yet seemed so fierce in comparison. A dark cloak worn on her slender shoulders, her clothes ripped and littered with blood.
We continued to stare at each other for a while until I saw her headband. It seemed as if there were four S's running across.
"Oh. You graduated the academy. Congratulations!" I smile at her but she scoffs.
"You really don't know much about this village. Where did you come from?" I guess there's no harm in saying.
"Konoha."
"Konoha huh? The 'nice' village." I watch her carefully. He needle-like sword in her left hand and a black box on her right.
"What now?" Her breathing gets heavier. More erratic.
"Are you okay?" She couldn't respond, her sword drops and she collapses to the floor.
"Oh no."
What do I do now?
