Chapter 31: Application of Ability!
At this moment, the worm monster that Shiro had killed suddenly began to swell.
He realized something was wrong and tried to retreat, but another worm-like monster extended a tentacle-like weapon from its mouth and firmly entangled his sword-wielding hand.

As Riveria issued the commands, Shiro moved to her side.

Another piece of bad news came out.
Running out of arrows meant that their side would lose about half of their firepower, which would quickly shorten the hard-extended battle line.
"Tempest!"
A familiar voice came to Shiro's ears, followed by a golden figure rushing out from the adjacent grey forest.
"Ais!"
Alicia shouted excitedly beside him, and the faces of the other Familia members also lit up with hope.
With her sword wrapped in emerald wind, Ais plunged into the swarm of worm-like monsters.
The acidic liquid, capable of melting blades, was repelled by the wind.
Then, other executives also emerged from the forest, joining the battle.
The arrival of the executives turned the tide in favor of Loki Familia, and Ais, resembling a Valkyrie, effortlessly decimated the monsters before her.
By the time Bete joined the battle, support from the rear mage team had already thrown the monsters into disarray.
"These monsters... so annoying!"
Tione, bound in the sky by the monsters, went berserk.
She tore apart the worm-like monster's tentacles, then her right fist penetrated the creature's head.
Ignoring the burning of her own skin, she pulled out the magic stone from within the monster's body.
"Torajirou, give me two spears quickly!" Tiona then hopped to Shiro's side, her usual large double-bladed sword nowhere to be seen.
"Where's your weapon?" Tiona's face immediately fell, indicating her weapon was likely destroyed by the monsters on the way here.
After taking out two spears about 3 meters long from his Gift card and throwing them to Tiona, Shiro also charged towards the swarm of monsters.
Seizing the favorable situation, he also wanted to test something.
He approached a worm-like monster, this time not wielding his Device, but instead directly slapping it with his palm.

Dense lines suddenly appeared on the monster's body, followed by the body of the worm-like monster splitting into several pieces.

After testing, he found that he only needed to touch an object to use his cutting ability.
This ability can make an object indestructible, or it can break the object into pieces.
This was probably the difference between 'using' and 'granting'.
Shiro had always been granting his ability to objects but never directly used it, except for the one instance when he accidentally cut himself while first awakening his ability.

Shiro was familiar with this spell; he was captured by it yesterday.
Muscle memory made him leave the area immediately.
As the spell ended, blizzards scattered across the sky, along with snowflakes, ice, fire, thunder, and rain appeared.
Various kinds of magic fell like shotgun blasts, hitting the bodies of the monsters.
The monsters, splashing acidic liquids, were smashed into pieces, and the remnants of magic fluttered nearby.
"See! My magic is awesome, right?"
Riveria glanced at the excited mages beside her and quietly sighed.
Due to the chaos of the battle, she had to focus solely on commanding, without having time to chant magic, until reinforcements arrived, allowing a shift from defense to offense.
She sighed quietly, feeling it was truly shameful for her to remain in the background.
Watching the disorganized swarm of worm-like monsters, members of the Loki Familia immediately pursued the victory.
After the monsters in their sight were all cleared, adventurers of Loki Familia finally let down their guard.
"It's finally over!"
Seeing the monsters being wiped out, Tiona was overjoyed, and Ais also dispelled the magic on her sword.
Ais also felt severe pain, which was the burden her magic brought to her body, but because she always kept a poker face, no one noticed how uncomfortable she was feeling.
"Are you okay?"
Suddenly, Shiro handed a vial of recovery potion to Ais.
"Eh?" Ais was a bit confused.
"Drink this potion. You always pause for a moment after using [Ariel] when the battle ends; it must be the side effects of your magic." Shiro noticed this while observing her before.
Ais felt a warm stream in her heart as she took the potion from him.
"Please, don't tell Riveria and the others."
"Well, okay, I guess."
After the battle, Bete and Tiona started their usual bickering, lightening the mood a bit.
Gareth patted Raul, who was sitting on the ground, on the back, and Lefiya also smiled at Shiro's direction, their originally tense expressions gradually relaxing.
"Snap—"
The sound of breaking branches came from the forest, and everyone immediately re-armed themselves, returning to a state of combat readiness.
