Chapter 46: Detectives

Fang Chen, Li Gang and others are travelling over a Flying Spiritual Beast. It is Thunderclap Talon. This spiritual bird not only has high speed, but also strong attack power.
Li Gang's attention was on Fang Chen at this time. He was continuously moving his hands and using some kind of Secret Technique.
Yuan Guo glanced at Li Gang and understood his thoughts. He explained. "Senior brother Fang is removing our traces."
Li Gang was surprised. He questioned. "What kind of trace? Aren't we moving through wind route?"
He thought. 'No one should be able to find trace through air, it's too unrealistic.'
Yuan Guo asked. "What do you know about classes of Warriors?"
Li Gang thought and replied. "There are various classes like Alchemists, Forgers, Formation masters and so on."
Yuan Guo nodded. He replied. "These are some basic classes. In this world, there are countless such classes, like Beast masters, Flight masters, Assassins, Healers, Constructors, Destructors, and so on. Among them, there is one such class called Detectives. They have very strong perception and are able to find trace even from peculiar air movements. Every living being interact with their atmosphere and leave their own unique traces as they do. Even if you move through air, the unique Spiritual Essence that corresponds you leaves traces in the air. Even your body scents, your breathing styles, your movement all leave minute clues. Though these traces reduce with time, but if searched in time, it can lead to our origins."
Li Gang was surprised. 'Indeed, everything we do would always leave traces. But to be able to find clues from Wind shouldn't be so easy. It is like increasing dimensionality. You need to deal with even larger search space.'
Li Gang's thinking is in fact right. Finding traces from more sources is like increasing variables to find solution. The more variable, the larger search space! For example, one variables' search space would be a line, but in case of two Variables, the search space would be a plane, and in case of a three variable, it would be a volume! But this is just a basic mathematical concept, the real life variables are even more complicated.
But, although they are increasing search space, Detectives can still find clues and reach their result, because most of the times the pre defined knowledge again reduces their search space. These Detectives use some of the pre defined established laws of this world to filter the Search Space and when reduced enough, they can manually verify one by one if the person is the target or not.
This is not easy to achieve, at least one need to practice for countless years, day and night to reach such heights. It needs very high level intuition, perception and creativity.
Li Gang asked. "If they are so capable, wouldn't they be able to find any assassins just by looking at the scene?"
Yuan Guo nodded. "Yes, they can. This is why we assassins use different kind of means to remove our traces. Detectives are the worst nightmare for all the Assassins! Have you ever heard of Shadow Killer?"
Li Gang denied. "No"
Yuan Guo said in a deep voice. "He is the greatest Detective ever born. It is said that he can find trace of any Killer just by looking at the Death Scene. "
Dai Lin agreed. "Rumour has it that he is able to see through all the Karmas and deduce anything about past, present and future by just looking at once! But I don't know why such a great character became the leader of Shadow Sect. Detectives are known as nightmare for Assassins, but he is both Assassin and Detective at the same time!"
Li Gang has heard about Shadow Sect. It is one of the top Sect of Central Continent and even though it is not counted among 6 Great Sects, it is not inferior to them either! Their information network encompasses the whole Divine Spirit World, and not just Central Continent. They take tasks about Assassinations and also sell information.
1 day later, Tianwu City
Fang Chen and others reached Tianwu city. They first removed all their traces and went to a nearby inn.
Fang Chen took out a talisman and gave it to Li Gang, Tang Yue and Tang Yan and said. "Use this talisman to remove all your traces."
Among their group, only Fang Chen, Yuan Guo and Dai Lin are expert in hiding traces.
Li Gang took the talisman and took a deep glance at Fang Chen.

Dai Lin has strong attack power, while Tang Yan have much better disguise techniques. Tang Yue's long range attack is great. All in all they are perfect team!'
Even though they all know essence of Assassination, there is always one strong point. For instance, even though Li Gang is good at archery, but his strong point is Sword since he has already reached the Sword Heart. His perception in a close range is unparalleled in their group.
In next few days, Fang Chen, Yuan Guo and Dai Lin taught Li Gang and others about how to hide traces in different situations. Using Talisman is easy, but these Talismans only help in blurring the clues in wind. They should also know how to remove other traces, like footprints, fighting marks, scents they leave, finger prints and so on. It is not just about leaving clues, but they should also be able to hide their killing intent. If they revealed killing intent, it could lead to disasters. Warriors are very perceptive, especially stronger ones.
Li Gang sometimes felt they are being too cautious, but when he thought of Detectives, it all makes sense.

Various Qin family members can be seen appointing servants for tasks. They move from one place to another, making sure every guests get the appropriate seat and also serving them desserts.
The decoration is beautiful, they have set up a huge stage in front of a large arena. Surrounding the arena are places where crowds can sit. It is similar to a Cricket ground, only difference being, on one side of the Ground, a large stage have been set up for special guests.
The place has already been nearly filled, and soon Qin Jia came. He reached the highest position, took a crown from the servant near him and put it on the grand throne they have designed.
Then he came in the front of the stage and looked at everyone who has arrived. He started addressing the guests one by one.

Meanwhile somewhere else in the Tianwu City
Qin Yuanlong was sitting over a popular restaurant and eating the delicacies. There were few other young masters from different families of Tianwu city. Although they are not as strong as Qin and He family, they still have a bit of influence.
They were eating and enjoying.
A young man in 30s, named Hu Tian, laughed. "Brother Long, who will even dare to challenge you in this Ceremony? Your strength is unrivalled in younger generations!"
Another man, named An Wei said after putting down the Wine cup. "I bet He family must have carefully selected a few Warriors. But how can someone defeat Brother Long at the same cultivation level?"
Qin Yuanlong smiled and didn't say anything.
At that time, a servant came with another jug of wine and put it over the table. While doing so, he spilled some at Qin Yuanlong.
The young master of ancient Qin family narrowed his eyes and looked at the servant. The servant showed fear in his eyes.
Hu Tian stood up and shouted. "Are you blind?"
Another servant from inside came running out. He asked nervously to the Servant who made mistake. "Liu, What happened?"
Hu Tian complained. "He spilled the Wine over brother Long. Do you know what crime did you do?"
The servant named Liu started shivering, but he was supported by his fellow servant. "It's just spilling the wine, do you have to get so agitated? I heard young master Qin is very humble person, but now it seems he is also very arrogant with no sense of justice. Are the rumours true and he snatched the position of his younger brother to get the throne?"
Qin Yuanlong's eyes flashed a killing intent as he subconsciously touched lower waist for the weapon, but he calmed himself down and smiled.
"I am really sorry for Brother Hu's rude words. He was just angered for my sake, please don't mind it."
Hu Tian felt dejected. "But brother Long..."
Qin Yuanlong replied. "Needless to say, it just happened by mistake. Don't worry too much."
Saying that, he took a deep glance at An Wei and narrowed his eyes. He stood up, and said: "let's go."
But at that moment, the manager of the Restaurant suddenly came and said politely. "I heard about the inconvenience of the young master, and I apologize. These two servants are newly recruited and don't know the rules. I will immediately drive them out, and if it isn't sufficient, young master Long can tell what punishment to give!"

He thought of the two young servants and murmured inwardly. 'Those two are newly recruited huh!'
