Chapter 3: Great election
Jake continued with his meditation but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't enter deep sleep.
He always wanted to be someone special, and upon entering this new life, in this new world, he thought he would be.
But he was wrong.
Letting out a resigned sigh, Jake lay down to sleep, but around 2 am his eyes opened to see letters appearing in his vision.
"Now it appears even while I sleep?" he asked irritably.
But the options silenced him.

[Leave the house and head to the mini-mart: meet a dog - ???]
Jake had thought about it for a long time and knew that the only thing that could truly make him special was this phenomenon called absolute choice.
That's why he was determined to make the most of it.
Making his choice, Jake carefully went downstairs and spied on what was in the kitchen.

What he saw surprised him greatly.

His assumptions turned out to be true when he discovered the abnormal dog.
Following the dog for over half an hour, Jake found himself in the middle of a grove on the outskirts of the poor neighborhoods. The smell of rot and infection broths assaulted his nose immediately upon passing through that place, but Jake continued to follow the dog even though it seemed too fast to follow.
Shortly after, he saw the little dog approaching a strange formation of trees. Two giant trees were leaning towards each other, forming what looked like an arch door.
When the little dog saw the pile of garbage, its eyes shone with intelligence as it approached it.
When the dog approached under those two trees, something strange happened.

Before he could even settle, the dog fell unconscious to the ground and began to snore.
Upon closer observation, Jake discovered that the sleeping dog had very quiet signs of life, almost undetectable. In the end, breathing stopped completely, but body tissue and fur moved slightly, as in cellular respiration, entering a vegetative state.
"This is... Fetal Breathing! How is this possible?" Jake was surprised beyond measure. He wasn't mistaken. Indeed, it was fetal breathing, a wonderful type of innate breathing that strengthens cells and excavates potential. But had a dog reached such a legendary state?

With a glint of excitement in his eyes, Jake began to walk towards that strange formation of trees.

He felt so tired, as if he were a person who had been awake for three days and three nights with his eyes open, finally having seen a bed. Even if it were the apocalypse, sleep mattered more than anything else.
Jake bit his tongue and used the pain to stimulate his consciousness. His body kept moving forward and his feet touched the dog.

Finally, drowsiness invaded his entire mind. Unable to bear it any longer, he collapsed and entered the deepest form of sleep, forgetting himself, forgetting the state, and forgetting the world. He had never had such a wonderful dream.
