Chapter 1: Wishes (1)

I woke up to a splitting headache, my head pulsating painfully, but still bearable for now as I massaged the bridge of my nose and lifted my body up with the assistance of my other hand, unable to suppress the groan that escaped my lips as I did so.

"...Martha?" I called out.

'She isn't here...' I concluded after a few seconds of silence ensued and noticing the spot beside me was vacant.

'Where did that step-sister of mine go? Usually, she'd never woke up earlier than me.'

With a bit of effort, I opened my drowsy eyes and looked around at my surroundings through my blurry vision, realizing I was in a vast expanse of white space and fluffy clouds instead of my bedroom.

"What the fuck!?"

I rarely curse, but the words slid naturally from my lips as my eyes widened in shock, yet simultaneously, they provided the necessary focus to observe and process exactly how I got here.

As this wasn't a dream, I realized early on, the limited assumptions I could conjure, owing to my cultured brain, were either I had died in my sleep, but Martha was too submissive and cowardly to do so, and I couldn't come up with any way I could die other than that OR perhaps a higher dimensional being of some sort had kidnapped me—I was inclined to the latter more as it opened the possibilities many thought to be mere fiction.

[Please state your three wishes!]

...then, as if on cue, a golden-tinted translucent screen appeared in my view.

"Well, this makes things easier."

Whistling, I promptly inputted my wishes, as I had prepared myself through a hundred of different scenarios in case of something like this were to happen, and one of them really did happen.

[1. Essence of the Home]

[2. Essence of the Gacha]

[3. Essence of the Ideal Self]

Starting from the Essence of the Home, drinking it would grant me a personal home that exists outside of reality, beyond the reach of most entities, nigh-impenetrable from outside force, expands and grows with me, and much more, but the most important feature of them all was the home's capability to travel through every universe and open a passage anywhere, effectively achieving world travel.

The Essence of the Gacha was pretty self-explanatory with the only difference being the rewards would be real person, items, powers, and others, nothing like the fraudulent money-grubbing games of Gacha made by those greedy companies.

To spin the Gacha, I would receive 1 Gacha point every day, I could obtain more by paying the equivalent of 1 dollar for 1 Gacha point, with a limit of 100 dollars per month, whereas I could spend them in the three available modes:

1. General Gacha, spending 3 or 30 GP for a roll or ten consecutive rolls respectively to get prizes from across the infinite realities and universes.

2. Centralized Gacha, spending 6 or 60 GP, following the same rule, for prizes related to the universe I was in.

3. Free Gacha, which allowed me to roll 10 prizes for free once per day and if I missed or deliberately not rolling in this mode, I would still get another 1 GP per day.

The Gacha upgraded itself over time the more I used it, unlocking the higher-tiered prizes. Though, the prizes for the free mode was fixed to low tier so I would probably ignore them most of the time, in favor to gaining more GP for better prizes.

[A/N: I exercised my creative freedom as an Author to tweak a few things about the Essence of the Gacha. Also, I opted to gloss over the free mode entirely so I won't have to keep tracks of the useless prizes from it while still making my MC win.]

And then, lastly, but not the least was my insurance, the Essence of the Ideal Self which allowed me to not only reform myself into the ideal version I imagined both body and mind, but also a way to get myself protected from mind control, gain some cool superpowers, and prevent my powers from being suppressed, copied, or stolen.

Not the best of wishes, sure, but these were the ones I was utmost comfortable and excited to have.

Even though I could have wished for something overpowered like "every power written in the superpowers wiki" or "the three great-Os", that would get super boring so fast.

[Your wishes have been granted and will be delivered to you at the same time you regain your consciousness!]

[Best of luck in your journey, Traveler!]

"Wait, you haven't tell me where I would be reincarnated!"

[That is for you to find out, Traveler!]

◆◇◆◇◆◇

'Okay, I don't know what to expect from reincarnation but this isn't it.'

I was put in a basket and covered with a cloth the moment I stirred awake by a woman, presumably to be my mother, and left adrift in a raging river.
