Chapter 4: Chapter 4
The next day,
Gabriel come to send me off, it seems that descending is quite easy. There is a device that will teleport you straight to earth.
Gabriel reminds me of my promise to her, and then she kissed my cheek, saying that it is for good luck. She also reminds me that our engagement, my identity as a Seraph and God of Bible's death is a top secret, so I need to be careful about this information. To the masses, I am supposedly a High Angel sent by Michael for goodwill purposes.
I pat her while nodding and said goodbye to her, while reassuring her that I will call her to accompany her sightseeing the earth.
I then step into the teleporter, and not long after it, I arrived in another place. I saw a nun bowing her head and greet me,
"Greetings Your Excellency, I am Griselda Quarta and I will be your guide in this Cathedral."
The woman in front of me is a Northern Europe beauty with blue eyes. Her body is covered by the nun's robe, but I'm pretty sure she have a very explosive body. Now that I think about it, isn't she the future Queen of Gabriel's peerage? She is not mentioned much other than a sword instructor for another heroine.
"Thank you, I am Elphael, I will be in your care"
She proceed to tour me around the Cathedral, there are a lot of similarities with the Cathedral from my previous world, with high ceilings and lots of statues.
While we are touring, I asked her about the news from the world, especially in Japan since I am heading there. She said there is no special occasion is happening right now, and mostly the information she knew is from the supernatural side. So she doesn't really know about the news from the normal world.
After touring the cathedral, she brought me to a room where I saw a nun is praying to a God's statue. I realize that this nun have blonde hair, and a cute face, different from a usual European beauty. She is the heroine, Asia Argento, while she is a little bit different from the anime I saw, the aura around her emits a very kind and motherly nature that draws people towards her, which is the same as what I know from the anime.
Griselda then called Asia to introduce her to me,
"Your Excellency, this is Asia Argento, the pope received an oracle that she will be accompanying you in this journey, I hope she could be useful to you."
Asia then bowed her head and said,
"Your Excellency, I hope I could be useful to you in this journey"
I feel awkward by all this "Your Excellency" thing, but supposedly, even a normal angel is revered by the church. I need to keep dignity of a superior, so I swallowed all of this awkwardness, but at least I should let them tone it down.
"Ah both of you, please call me Elphael, using sir should be enough, you don't have to call me Your Excellency"
Both of them bowed in unison and spoke
"Understood, Sir Elphael."
"Okay, I will get going soon, Griselda, I heard that the church was supposed to give me Ascalon, is the sword ready?"
Griselda nodded excitedly and said,
"Yes, it's ready Sir Elphael. I have cleaned it and polished it to peak for your usage sir."
It seems she is really not any different from her student… Either that or she is just a sword maniac…
"Okay, I will be departing soon, please take it here."
Griselda nodded and called another nun to fetch the sword, while at it, Griselda told me that there will be a house for me to stay in the Kuoh town, which were given to me by the Devils as an act of goodwill. I will need to meet the two sister of Maou to take it though, so she told me to meet them as soon as I arrived there.
The nun came back with a sword that have a reddish-purple grip and a golden hilt with stylized crosses at the edges of the guard. Griselda then took it, and gave it to me,
"Sir Elphael, this is Ascalon. The sheath has an illusion function so that people except the owner cannot see or touch the sword as long as it sheathed. So you could always carry it with you."
Now this is a surprise, I was thinking of how to hide this sword from masses so I could always suppress Issei's draconic aura inside the school. This will be perfect for it.
I took the sword from Griselda and said, "Thank you, I will take care of it. Now then, I should get going. Asia, Let's go."
Griselda bowed and said, "I hope you have a safe journey Sir Elphael."
It took a while for us to reach the airport by car, and yes, we are taking usual plane to Japan, even though we were given a private room inside the plane.
While we are on the plane, I talked a lot to Asia, she seems very tense when talking to me. I assure her that I would not be angry even she talks to me in a casual manner. She declined saying that I am a messenger of God, so I must be respected.
It might take some time for Asia to open up to me, since she viewed me as her "superior".
"Ah yes, Asia, I heard you have a Healing-type sacred gear, can you try healing me?" I asked her while sounding curious.
"Ah… Ah… Yes! But it should be less effective than angel's healing spell."
She sounded really nervous around me, she wasn't like this in the Cathedral, is it because Griselda was there?
"No matter, I wanted to know the difference sacred gear's healing and usual light magic healing."
I knew for a fact that Asia's sacred gear is a mutated version of what it should be, it should be because her view that everybody should be equal, whether it is angels, humans, devils or fallen angels.
"Then I will start."
I nodded, and then she started healing me, her hand glows in green color, different from the usual light-based healing, which is white colored.
I feel the "energy" that is being channeled into me, it is different from light-based healing. I usually had Gabriel to heal me after my session with Uriel, so I know the feeling of light-based healing.
If I were to hypothesized, Asia's sacred gear convert her Holy power into magical power, which is supposedly a neutral type of energy, and this enable her to heal everybody regardless of race.
I need to research more on this… It might come handy later.
I stopped Asia and thanked her, "Thank you Asia, your sacred gear is unique, I might want to experiment a bit by taking your sacred gear as a model. It might save a lot of souls in the future, devils included, so I hope you could help me with it."
Asia smiled widely after hearing what I said. It seems that she is afraid of me hating the devils, and label them as an evil entity, just like what she was taught.
"Yes, I will help you as much as I can!"
I smiled at this, I could feel she genuinely feel happy with my plan, she really does have a heart of gold.
"Then let's rest, we have a hectic day when we arrived at Kuoh town, so you should prepare."
